I called Apple for the 20th time 😂and I was told that they are aware of the problem but they have not received any communication yet so they advised me to wait for any news ... I was also told that it is useless to change the 'iPhone with another because this yellow screen problem is present in all devices
Really? That might be “good” news. Is my 2nd iPhone 12 pro max, 4th i have tested counting the store ones, also tested side by side an iPhone 12 pro and ALL of them have the issue. A total of 5 phones with yellow screen. Cant be defective units...

That’s fair enough. The way you explain it makes sense. One thing I am confused about though is that my wife’s iPad Pro does not have any gap at all around any side of the screen. Is there a reason why the iPhone has random gaps and the iPad Pro doesn’t?

Your wife's iPad happenend to have all the gaps with the same size, just that.
All have to have gaps, or the display would be impossible to install during production.
During mass production, it might happen some units to have uniform gaps, but that's something impossible to guarantee.
Well, impossible considering the price the iPhones are sold.
To ensure that level of assembly, the retail priced would rise several times, as all the non conforming units would hae to get back and corrected, leading to a massive decrease in daily production.
It's as simple as this.
It's all about numbers :)
So, yes, alhough your wife seems to have no gaps, it's just maybe the're all the same size, so no one stands out.
That's why tolerances exists, just because it's impossible to get flawless prodcution, unless manufacturer decides to produce a lot less units, whih leads to a massive retail price increase.

lol mine has a slight flicker now too. No way that can be a software issue right ?

iPad Pro is different display technology. If I'm not mistaken LCD tech has built in display controller on the edges while OLED doesn't, so there wouldn't be a gap with LCD like there is with OLED.

Although differente technology display, the way the display is "inserted" on the iPad body is similar.
It has to have gaps so the display can sit within the frame.

I dont have OCD for the product worth $200. They pump up the prices, then they must pump up the quality, not opposite.

That seems logical at a first glance, then, if you realize the materials used in the devices production, you'll soon get to the conclusion you're paying the premium materials, and, we have to admit that, the premium construction. Even though some challenges might arise from construction decisions, like the existence of gaps, tolerances are way lower thant most of the brands in the market. We have to admit Apple construction has very high quality.
Yet, usual mass production inherent issues will certainly be present.

Just like bendgate?

General point is, if something is 5x price, it is not 5x quality. Maybe 1.5x quality. That sucks in the globalism.

Indeed. And then, marketing does the rest. Creating narratives, very beautiful situations in which products are used, associating the products to a way of life, noble causes, well... creating that urge on consumers to buy the product. That's capitalism.

Globalization*

globalism is a whole different animal and not a good one.

We all know Apple's Pro 'Moniker' has been a symbol of brighter scenes, more cameras, more features (noise cancellation) etc. not necessarily quality control.

signed, 12 Pro user (that doesnt have faults but won the QC lotto... this time)

Ok, im done. Thank you all for great discussion on this thread. Everyone should have own deadline for everything in the life. Have a nice day and great conversations!

Started following this thread because my iPhone 12 had a very yellowish display and found that many users are facing it. But, yesterday I tried playing a Black Screen YouTube video in a completely dark room and the phone started flashing green in a regular interval.

So is this the screen flickering issue that people are talking about? I thought my phone only had the yellowish display problem.

Most iPhone 12 and 12 Pros have both issues, they are definitely working on the flickering, and they might or might not be working on the yellow screen.

Thanks for your Reply!!

My question is...Whether most of the iPhone 12's have both these issues?

Is it worthy to go for a replacement?

There are more issues related to the display. In my case, the reason I returned my iPhone 12 PM was:
  • Yellow tint or gray colors tending to be greener than all the other device displays that I have seen.
  • Videos or pictures with all-black content behaves more like an LCD panel than OLED. In an OLED panel, blacks=pixels off just like any other OLED display.
  • Not only the real black colors are dimly lighted on the screen, but they were also pulsing or flickering when playing videos.
Another issue not related to the display, all my videos were like this no matter the light condition.
. Now waiting for a replacement.

Hard to say- personally if there’s no fix from Apple I’m going to get a replacement toward the end of my return period and just keep the better screen.
