Where are the photos of those "perfect phones" and "perfect screens" compared to an older model? So you're telling me photos do the difference justice when the 12s screens are yellower than older models, but when they're not you can't tell? Please.

People here report all phones at Apple stores being yellow, you're delusional if you think all of them are defective per Apple's quality standards this year. I'm not saying the screens are acceptable or not either, that's up to you to decide, but don't expect the screens to be any different anytime soon.

I'm looking at the proper display of my iPhone X, which I went back to after returning my 12PM 😉
The issues of the ability to show the difference in a picture affects both the yellow and good displays. Not sure how aware you are, but the cameras adjust for white, hence in a photo it looks normal. People like you, speaking without knowledge on proper calibration etc., are why Apple is getting away with relaxing tolerances and accepting these clearly improper devices as being acceptable. The D65 standard has remained the same since...ever, yet the phones are getting warmer and some are extremely yellow, yet a lot perfectly match that standard as it should be. The $6k laptops and mac pros are calibrated perfectly for the most part, these phones have nothing to do with that, they are yellow tinted and not per the calibration standard - which deems them defective (maybe not to Apple as they will state display variances) but to anyone needing a pro/accurate device they are.

Glad you returned it though and went back to the X, better/cooler display and accurate to the standard.

For those of you who have talked to Apple about replacements, were your interactions in person or online? For me personally, the times that I’ve had problems with Apple products, I was able to rectify them in person with no issues. I don’t know if where you are in the world can affect the decisions and responses they give you. I’m in the UK and they’ve generally be relaxed about my issues. Nevertheless, I could totally see Apple regarding this as something minor. Still, maybe if luck is on your side and the displays models in store are good, it could help your case if you were to compare them?

I am not someone to buy and return 10 iPhones to try out but I am thinking about it.

Own a black 12 Mini with ok OLED but screen is quite dull and a little yellow, but notconcering. Blacks are 97% perfect, but a little grayish in black pixel areas. Hard to notice but it is there. Dull screen, washed out text colors are more of a concern with this device.

I tried and bought another white 12 Mini and screen is better, not by much, but a little less yellowish and dull, a little more contrast and reddish display. Both reddish and yellowish are just a bit, but noticeable. Problem is the new white 12 Mini shows much more of a not black but grayish pixel display. You can see the not black pixels even in normal lighting. It isn't really grey but the frame is more visible in contrast to the so-called black pixels which aren't black.

I don't really wanna try a third one. First was first charge from Apple. Second from amazon.

There is an iOS beta out - 14.3 beta. Hopefully this will address the yellow tinge? Just being hopeful

Came from another retail location, perfect display (no yellowing) on either the 12, pro or pro max, week 38 and week 40, looks even much much better in person. Same factory as mine though just different weeks (mine has yellowing, neither of those did).

Well after not thinking it's an issue, I can totally see it on my 12PM now. My whites are actually fine and not yellow. Just a little bit warmer than my 11PM. It's the greys/ dark greys that look ****ed. They look more piss yellow/green and not crisp at all. I'll be waiting until just before the Jan.8 return window and then getting a replacement as it looks like the issue is fixed on some of the newer ones.

Seems to be random, all the perfect displays i saw in stores were week 30s, mine was just made off the line and it has that, doubt waiting till then would make a diff. Just seems like some weeks produce crappier displays whereas others how they should be.

I used a blue led flashlight about 7500k on my 12pm and it seemed to calibrate my TT and the screen got bluer toned than with it off.

The lotto on this doesn't even seem like its worth the chances. Even display units are replicating this.

Want to try again but from apple's site, the phone won't be here until after Christmas. Best buy has a sale and can have the phone by the 11th. Is it more of a hassle to exchange/return to best buy or should I just get it directly from Apple? Closest Apple store is over an hour away.

who cares about the display. What about the camera dust? Front and the 3 in the back? Every single iPhone I have purchased has it.

I’ve had 3 Pro Maxes, have shined flashlights into the lenses of every one, and have yet to see dust inside. I have good vision and have actually exchanged a phone for dust in the lens before, so I think I would spot it if it was there. Sounds like you’re just incredibly unlucky. Have all of yours been from the same factory? Wonder if one factory is just filthy 😂.

Just called to my Authorized Service Center, since I don't have any Apple Stores in my country, the technician sayin that they already got the information from Apple about the yellow tint screen. Apple might try to fix it via software update.

Where are you getting the 95%+ number from? Are you basing this number off of this thread or you fact checked your info?

Just based off this thread and personal experience with exchanges which all had yellow tint.. Given the number of reports here, and Apple reps basically stating they are all within acceptable tolerances, I'd say the percentage is very high.

We’ll have to see how my wife’s new 12 pro looks when we get it. It was ordered directly from Verizon. Should be here Wednesday.

I wanted to wait till January, but we just couldn’t pass up the trade in promotion Verizon is running. They offered $440 for her old iPhone X 64gb. Prior to the promotion, they were only offering a little over $200 for a trade in.

I was able to find a happy point with the color filter on my 12 pro Max, so I’m hoping we can at least do the same with her’s, if it’s got the yellow tint.

I returned about a dozen iphones and ipads for dust in the camera lens. My 12 was perfect though. Returned it for a yellow screen, flickering and a large gap along the top between the screen and frame.
