Apple is NOT going to fix the yellow tint through a software update. They can’t even if they wanted to. And if they do, they’ll ruin those screens that are currently perfect.
That sums you up, why don't you just go away.

Getting uneasy...
I can live with the „warmer“ display, because it can be mitigated by adding the appropriate „hue“.
However, I really take issue with the green on min brightness. It just looks cheap and really wrong.
And I often use my phone in dark environments.

I‘m glad I have AC+.
This is probably going to be an exchange odyssey :(

Few more pictures of my G9N panel week 46 iPhone PM 256GB PB. The phone is much more whiter than the 1st picture. Very happy with the screen and done with the panel lottery. Keep looking people, there are good panels no doubt.

I had a week 46 and today got a 47. Still compared to my 11 Pro Max it is warmer.
Is yours warmer compared to older iPhone?

Hi,

I have a Q9Q panel, the screen has a yellow tint with default settings (and true tone and night shift off), it looks kind of OK with color filters

Do you think Apple will solve this via software or should I try to replace my iphone 12 mini?

Thanks

I can see you still have the yellow tint.
Must be like me, better than my first one, but still here.

Please just note that in my case there is 24 days between the screen manufacturing and the phone manufacturing.
I Let you conclude on the possibility to have a corrected screen today.
08/12 - 24 days = 14 November.
Maybe other people could look at this difference and give us there delta.

I'd say it's on par with my wife's XS MAX and a little less warmer than my sons 11 Pro Max. Very happy with this screen as my 11 PM of last year was more on the warmer side. I sold my 11 PM to put the cash towards the 12PM.

Yellow tint is one thing.

The other is the glows in black screens and the greenish greys in auto brightness.

Do the test in a dark environment and with true tone off.

Search youtube for "total black video" or use the below link.

You can see the glow when you power on your phone. There is a glow for a second after the appearance of the apple (I read in another forum that same think happens with 11 series).

Also when you are playing a total black video with brightness below 100%.Also try to do a volume up or down. There will be a line of 2cm across the screen (this happens even with an iphone se 2020 which has a different screen technology)

You can see the greenish greys in the menu (greyed areas) with auto brightness.

Guys how is your phones with the above issues?

It may be the way i took the picture, much less yellow tint than my 2 previous 12 PM's. Trust me, it's not as yellow in person. I took the picture with my wife's XS MAX in a pitch dark room. I will not dare to exchange this one to go over all that stress again. I'm happy and done with the panel lottery. With my luck I would get worse panels an that would drive me nuts, lol.

My previous devices did this upon boot but my Week 47 device doesn’t do it nor have the green tint.

This is following a conversation about the 14.3 RC not resolving the raised blacks issue. I even double checked for clarity on the yellow tint point, mainly for you guys. Could be legit...

yes, wait and see ...... or send back

To be serious, yes i had the same answer from apple on Monday.
I call them back about my new phone and the yellow tint and get the same answer.
I can't beleive apple will not do something for us.
And will lie to every customers....

I want to believe we can trust them.

Moreover this is not in their interest to loose all customers crazy enough to put 1000 $ or more in a phone ;).

Don't forget, that all iphone 12 have this tint (more or less).
so they can correct the calibration by software for every one.
fo some, it will be very white and other maybe again a little yellow but certainly better for every 12 owners.

Best solution could be an option to adjust green, blue, red.
Maybe they will go for this one :)

Hmmm, I’m not convinced. Looks to me like they’re just telling you what you want to hear. At least you’ve taken screenshots of the conversation, so if the issue isn’t fixed you can use this as evidence to make a case for a replacement if it comes to that.

I feel like short of grabbing the guy by the shoulders and making full on eye contact, I got as close to being sure he was giving accurate information as I could.

So I can either pick up a new device in an Apple store or order one online which will be delivered in 2 weeks. Which do you think has the better chance of being a later serial number? I’m trying to get as close to January as possible

Tell the seller to throw it in the trash, don't go near it.

If that is “refurbished”, don’t buy anything from that shop or person.
