As requested, brightness around 40%. I think it looks great and the blacks are not crushed.Try with dark mode.
And brightness in the middle or less.

Interesting, it seems your panel is manufactured by LG. Prefix GH supposedly has a high chance of being bad, but if it’s looking better to you, you might be lucky with a good one. How are the greys looking at lowest brightness?Got my replacement 12 today. Is it as white as my wife’s X? No, but it’s definitely an improvement. The screen has much less of a greener tint. I’m guessing if I had a display calibrator it would show a higher red RGB value. I think I’ll keep this one as it looks pretty good and I don’t really wanna go through the lottery again.
Some stats: Serial is DNQ, week 43. Screen serial is GH303...
Left is new iPhone, right is old. Both set to 50% brightness by siri.

So lame... Looks like they did not receive the same internal notes and what to pitch about these issues.I just got off a chat with a senior advisor. I asked him if they've had many complaints about the yellowing, and he said yes but kept repeating that engineering has concluded it's "expected behaviour". I'm exchanging mine.
Of the issues you described I “only” have:Yellow tint is one thing.
The other is the glows in black screens and the greenish greys in auto brightness.
Do the test in a dark environment and with true tone off.
Search youtube for "total black video" or use the below link.
You can see the glow when you power on your phone. There is a glow for a second after the appearance of the apple (I read in another forum that same think happens with 11 series).
Also when you are playing a total black video with brightness below 100%.Also try to do a volume up or down. There will be a line of 2cm across the screen (this happens even with an iphone se 2020 which has a different screen technology)
You can see the greenish greys in the menu (greyed areas) with auto brightness.
Guys how is your phones with the above issues?
Yeah, go for it. Are you out of your return period and doing a swap or doing a return and buying a new one?I just got off a chat with a senior advisor. It is lame. At the end of the day, a screen makes up an overwhelming majority of the experience of owning a smartphone. Every interaction you have with your phone is done through your display. Viewing any sort of content is impacted by a subpar display. Take photos and videos for example. You will perceive the photos that you take as warmer/yellower than they actually are. When you’re paying a premium for a “pro” product, it sucks to feel shortchanged and treated as customers who’ll just accept these lapses in display tolerances. Granted, it seems like average consumers don’t notice/care about this but that doesn’t mean everyone can be painted with the same brush. So lame... I feel like these advisors are the ones telling the truth, even though it is not what we want to hear. Deep deep down we all know Apple will do nothing about this. They would have done something already. They fixed the touch issues in the Mini a week after release.I just got off a chat with a senior advisor. Not out of my return period. I've got AppleCare anyway. I want to just do a swap, but I'll have to call them and discuss that after work.Yeah, go for it. Are you out of your return period and doing a swap or doing a return and buying a new one?

Honestly the greys look pretty good. Night mode on my old one looked kinda greenish which I hated, but it looks pretty great on my new one.Interesting, it seems your panel is manufactured by LG. Dark grey is where I noticed it too. Especially at zero/low brightness in dark mode. There's a slight green cast on lighter greys, more prominent when Night Shift is turned on. Never noticed this on my 11 Pro Max.Not out of my return period. I've got AppleCare anyway. I want to just do a swap, but I'll have to call them and discuss that after work.
Yeah, my wife has a regular 12 that's yellow as well. Just as bad as my PM, but she doesn't care lol.
Honestly I think "yellowing" is a bit of a misnomer. At least in my case. My whites are actually fine. Maybe a bit warmer than my 11PM was, but not obscenely so. For me it's the dark greys. They look horrible. That's why it took me a while to notice and thought you were all over reacting.
as exciting as it might be I'm never buying an iPhone on launch day again... waiting till after January from now on.... This experience has left a really bad taste in my mouth....![]()
Tried it, mine doesn’t have any of those.Yellow tint is one thing.

That's not really how Apple do though.Hmmm, I’m not convinced. Looks to me like they’re just telling you what you want to hear. At least you’ve taken screenshots of the conversation, so if the issue isn’t fixed you can use this as evidence to make a case for a replacement if it comes to that.
It does. All 12 series phones do it. You just haven’t seen it yet.Tried it, mine doesn’t have any of those.
2 more screenshots with maximum brightness and TT off. Anyone have a good quality grey wallpaper that can post it here do I can check my 12 PM. The phone is much more true white than the pictures show.
Screenshots dont show the tint of the screen at all. Only photos of the display.2 more screenshots with maximum brightness and TT off. Anyone have a good quality grey wallpaper that can post it here do I can check my 12 PM. The phone is much more true white than the pictures show.
I'm confused, why are you posting screenshots again? They show nothing about a display's quality.
But i have not ever seen anything similar than this year series. All iPhones i meticulously tested are exactly or almost exactly the same tint. 6 by now. 3 of them replacement units. Will test the last one on Thursday. Ím pretty sure will be the exact same again. Is really strange statistically. 6 phones until now, all the same grade of yellow. Ím starting thinking this is intentional.Apple will never fix this via software because the same thing happened last year and there are still phones with Yellow displays. So return and wait to buy later or dunno, but dont do this Hue/color filter tweaks ass that will make things worse.
