What's your serial number? So far the only good ones I've seen here were G0QDQ and beyond.

guys sorry, can you tell me if it is normal that with the true tone active the screen is less yellow? if I deactivate it becomes more yellow

Most people have it yellow without, and gets more yellow with TT on.
Not read of any cases where the opposite happens...

I tested my new replacement 12 last night and interestingly it does not suffer from the green flickering. At lowest brightness on a black video the screen is completely off. Seems the LG panels don't suffer from this? (assuming the panel serial number theory is correct)

I still not understand how this can be so widespread and no one except us and a few small youtubers talks about it. Plan to return my 12 as well and maybe exchange it for a Pro, but as I'm reading these comments where the newer versions are worse (week 46 vs 42) than the older ones, I really don't know what to do. Shame on Apple.

Decided to buy a 12 Mini again because I love the form factor. Serial starts with C7CDM. Looks great to me.

We should sow the official apple forum with complaints talking about the yellow screens of the iPhone 12, it must be so obvious and so notorious that Apple is forced to say something about it. What I don't understand is how this issue is so muted.

Because that's what TT does. In more yellow light it should turn more blue, to counteract the warmer colour around you. The opposite should happen when you're around blue or colder light.

I don't think it's farfetched to consider that Apple's production was affected by the pandemic. They had to push their iPhone event to October rather than their usual September. In addition to this, they had to stagger the release of the iPhone 12 mini and max models from the 12 and 12 Pros, which indicates that they were behind schedule and struggling to make ends meet in regards to their mass production. Rumours even suggest that 120 hz pro motion displays were slated for this years iPhones but the supply just wasn't there to achieve this. Knowing that Apple has had all these problems, it makes it easier to believe the suggestions from people that QC has taken a hit and Apple are lowering their tolerances for displays just so they can meet their demand. Even now I'm looking at the online Apple store for my model and seeing no in-store availability, whilst deliveries are stating the end of December and first week of January. We're well into holiday season right now and it seems it'll stay like this for a while.

The reason the big YouTubers won't talk about this might be due to them being wowed by the new flat design and surgical grade stainless steel edges that they won't even notice the screen being yellow, or they do and think it's intentional, because they have it ingrained in them to think Apple is incapable of making errors. They have a copycat culture between them to consider iPhones as the phones that "just work". I can't count how many times I've seen different reviewers use that same phrase, it's comical. That's just how things are these days.

What's weird with mine is, with TT turned off, my 12 Pro Max leans towards blue, pretty much on par with my 11 Pro Max. Sadly, I'm on the IUP and don't have the 11 to compare.
I'm wondering if the TT settings just need a tweak towards being less aggressive or I'm just overthinking it because I'm on MacRumors.

Regardless, I'm going to hold onto this one as it isn't crazy yellow, I have Apple Care, and I don't want to get caught up in a display lottery dance.

This is actually backwards. True Tone is supposed to simulate how white balance of objects changes with ambient lighting. I.e., it’s supposed to take on the color temperature around you like a piece of paper would.

Yeah, I think the True Tone is just a little too aggressive. Mine (week 48) looks fine with TT off, can’t be bothered changing.

Nice, have you checked the screen serial number?

My release day pro max is bad and I’m definitely sending it back. I’m seeing I could order right now and have it delivered tomorrow. Do you guys think it’s still a big risk it’ll be the same? Really don’t want to go through this again.
