I just received one of my iPhone 12 Pro Max phones. No yellow tinting with True Tone turned off. The screen has a blue cast off axis. Observed no raised black levels either. This phone is perfect in all aspects, no observed physical defects on the back glass and no physical defects on the stainless steel frame.

Serial number: F2LD
Color: Gold
Capacity: 128GB
Production week : 52 (December)
Factory: F2 (China, Zhengzhou - Foxconn)
Do you mind posting a picture please.

No raised blacks on my iPhone 12 with this video or any other black image full screen.
I also tried to wait a while for my eyes to adjust. Screen was as dark as a screen turned off can be.
No flickering either.

tested mine, raised blacks in the A portion. Full black with a black image. Doesn’t bother me too much but it is pretty strange indeed.

It’s supposed to look grey.. or at least on lcd panels.

Can you go at this link save the image on your phone and then view this in a dark room with brightness all the way down?

Does it look grey or does it have a hint of green? Try and move to another picture and go back to that picture a few times, Does your screen started to Flicker at all
Just tested. No green tint in mine. At least to my eyes.

What does your calendar app looks like?

Please send us a photo to proove this.
You will be the first one who hasn't a green tint with brightness 0% and dark mode.
Oh, I can see it, but only in pictures. With bare eyes i can’t see the green tint, is why i thought was free of it.
Not a problem for me as can only see it pictured with a camera.

Yes it is a software problem ... :)

And no he don't mean the Raised Black flickering.
Agreed.. it’s a different flickering
Not experienced the “raised black flickering”.
Only this flickering with that dark grey image..
And it disappeared after turning off “view full HDR”.

I think it is a software issue. I think there is something wrong with the code that that brightness is at -2% or so. Because if you rise it to 3% or so the green tint is away. But I don’t know.

The best you can do is take my picture with the green tint and write apple support about this. The best and fastest way is chatting with them. If they want to send in the phone for repair say no, because a replacement will have the same issue. Say them that they have to tell the engineers.

Today I chatted with them and a good agent said it is a known problem but difficult to patch because every device is different.

Look at the chat with the support (german language you have to translate)

Short in english: Known problem with iPhone 12 series (12/12P/12PM/12 Mini) and difficult to fix because each device is different and they only can send one update for everyone. So there is still hope ... :)

I’m not familiar with Apple Maps, is it supposed to look grey/green when in dark mode?
It’s supposed to have a bit of green tint where forest / undeveloped areas are, and the bottom UI that slides up is ever so slightly translucent, so the green comes through on that too. I believe if you look at Mexico, it should be more gray in comparison as Apple doesn’t seem to have mapped out forests / undeveloped areas there.

Mine on the left, compared to my wife’s on the right .

hers seems to have less of a yellow tint

or is it just my eyes?
TT off same brightness

the pictures are not showing the real situation because every device applies a "correction". According to the pictures i see 2 very piky panel, with many blotches, i bet it's not so in the real life.
