guys, maybe I'll be wrong, but after iOS 14.4 I still have a green tint on a dark background but as regards the yellow tint I noticed big improvements .. it's only two days that I know I'm testing but, in certain light conditions, my iPhone turned yellow despite True Tone was deactivated, now the colors are always white (obviously not like the previous models)

My launch day 12 Pro Max (week 40 build) had an overall green tint that made text look dull and low contrast. Brightness also seemed low, but it had near perfect uniformity. Returned.

2nd 12 Pro Max (week 1 of 2021 build) had less tint than the first but still not great. It had better brightness, too. But it had worse uniformity, which I’m very sensitive to. Returned.

My third 12 Pro Max will be arriving Tuesday. I’m hoping the third time is the charm.

You’re not going to notice anything, because apple hasn’t released a fix yet, coming soon, hopefully next software update, don’t waste your time returning your phones because of the green tint issue, you’ll only get another phone with the exact same issue lol.

wait for apple to release a update.

Also you don’t notice big improvements regarding the piss yellow screen, your eyes have gotten use to it, it’s still the exact same screen you were looking at when you purchased the phone lol.

Every other phone I see looks like it has a brighter display with better whites than my IPhone 12 pro :(
Here we go again lol, no they don’t, the iPhone 12 pros put them to shame.

Look at post 111, even the latest S21 ultra is no match for the iPhone pros when it comes to brightness.

Take a chill pill and enjoy your phone.

I said MY iPhone 12. Not every iphone - Have you seen MY iphone in order to disagree? I think you are the one who needs to take a chill pill before jumping in with your view

I doubt they’ll fix the tint issue with an update. And I know they can’t fix the uniformity issue that my last 12 Pro Max had.

There’s never going to be a fix for this because this is not a software issue and neither is it a hardware issue.

This is just (relatively) poor display calibration which 99.99% of users are not going to care about or even notice in the first place. If you’re unhappy with the green tint then swap your OLED iPhone for an LCD phone and stop torturing yourself with exchanges and waiting for software updates to fix a problem that doesn’t exist.

According to ZolloTech, software updates have calibrated the screen displays.

Not saying apple is ever gonna fix this, but calibration is partly software. There’s the OS color profiles and the screen itself can also be managed by software. What do you think happens when you increase your brightness on your phone? Software tells the screen drivers (also software) what to do.

At 5:20, screen comparison has been done, and clearly Samsung has calibrated the screen to a cooler tint.
Putting all those theories to rest, that "over the past couple of years, Samsung has shifted to yellow or warmer tints".

Either, Apple alone is doing something right or got it entirely wrong in terms of colour temperature.
Would be glad if they can release the statement regarding the same, which at consumer end we ain't able to understand.

Watch the video again, the knob left true on while recording the video. 🤦‍♂️

An upcoming fix would #1 imply they somehow messed up the calibration by accident and #2 they still somehow haven’t noticed it by now even though it’s been how many months since they launched?

If I watched the correct part then all he says is “maybe we’ll see an update in the future”. I’d love to be wrong about this, but this display calibration problem has been present on every OLED iPhone since the Xs, so if Apple considered this an issue surely they would’ve “fixed” it by now.

again, i'm not saying there will be a fix. If every screen had the same problem, it could be done. But not like this.

Here is one for you guys. Ok it is not exactly linked to the yellow tint but 48h after upgrading to 14.4 see how my iPhone 12PM behaves 😱. I called Apple this morning and they asked me to do a full reset. But it did not change anything. Then I talked to a said to be « genius expert level bla-bla-bla » and she said « apple is aware of this and is working on a fix ». Wtf... when will be the next fix. Do I need to live with it for months. I can’t believe this. I have a appointment to the Apple store Monday. No other option than exchanging it right away!

I experienced some issues with the screen brightness and some other glitches after upgrading to 14.4, but a a couple of hard resets remedied the issues for me (12 mini)...

Thanks for the feedback. I won’t spend my time hard resetting my iPhone several times to check If it solves my problem. It is really unacceptable...this year is clearly a catastrophic year... iPhone and IOS reliability is so poor.

A hard reset won’t erase any data or settings you have... It just takes a minute.

Compared my 12PM with color filters to an S10 today. Very very close. I'm quite happy using the color filters and tbh I don't notice much difference in brightness.
