iPhone 12 Pro Yellow Screen/Tint? Display seem "Warm"? Check here first!

I update you, this morning I was in the Apple Store and it all had some really dramatically comical implications.
I pointed out the completely yellow Display, and the Genius as soon as he saw it immediately went to deactivate the True Tone, what a surprise surprise, it was already deactivated.
After some discussion, he went to get an exhibition model and compared them, actually there are no differences and they both have a really creepy yellow piss, so he felt there was no problem. Moral of the story: Apple has embraced the yellow piss theory and we can't get rid of it.
Secondly, I pointed out that at low brightness, black is not absolute and you see gray, and I pointed out that being an oled the pixels should be off when the image is black, he looked at me confused and I he said it is impossible for him to see completely black. Wtf?
However, a comparison was always made with the device on display and it presented the same disgust, so this is also completely normal and is not considered a defect.
In the end, he told me that this year the backlight of the new iPhones is stronger so it is normal for you to notice these things, the new software updates should solve these problems.
Moral of the story: iPhone not replaced, I have the yellow piss display and that's okay, the blacks don't turn off completely at low brightness and that's fine too.
Moral of the story 2: I repeat, you who have an iPhone xS or 11 Pro, keep them tight.

Your screen looks really bad in that picture: assuming that the comparison has been made with TT and NS off, you are comparing an IPS screen with an OLED screen, so the difference in color calibration is huge.
You should compare your screen with another iphone 12PM/P.
That's the only way to check if your unit is faulty.
Apple needs to get rid of Samsung and the other oled suppliers and start making their own oled panels, everyone knows Samsung keeps the best oled panels for their devices, not like apple doesn’t have the money to produce their own panels.

I have a weird case here... I have my Xs and the 12 Pro side by side and the 12 Pro looks definitely warmer and more yellowish.

Hello friend, yes in the Apple Store we have made the comparison with an exhibition device and the result is the same, that is a terrible yellow. I also took my old 6s to do a live test and it had much sharper white colors than the two 12 models. Unfortunately that's the way the Displays this year, and Apple doesn't recognize the flaw. The photo I took to show the differences was without true tone and night shift, and yes, the result is absurd. Obviously the problem is more noticeable in a dark room (those were the conditions when I took the photo), during the day it is less noticeable but it is still too hot 😕.Hi, i'm italian too

Dude, trust me, we need to resign ourselves, this year the Displays are extremely hotter and Apple does not recognize that it is a problem. The only thing you have to do is accept it, so as to get used to and enjoy the devices, otherwise you risk going crazye like me 😅, I made the last attempt this morning in the Apple Store, you can read above how it ended.
I know.. I just found it weird that it's not visible on camera. Luckily it's not that extreme and only visible when viewing side-by-side with another phone. With true tone on it will color shift the whole day.
I mean: I'm not doing any color sensitive work on the phone and isn't a yellowish display more pleasing to your eyes?
And no worries. I already enjoy the phone... My Xs was actually fine but sometimes lagged a bit and I like the new square edges. Also got a good deal as I renewed my contract. So everything fine. Just interesting to see.
Has anyone tried today's 14.5 beta 6 to see if there were any improvements with the green/yellow tint? Content creators seem to think this was fixed a few betas ago in 14.5.
My green tint is gone since beta 5, noticing Home Screen wallpaper, apps and colors look a lot more vivid since beta 5, not as dull as before or maybe I’m seeing things. 🤔😂
My G0ND wk44 replacement looks just like that. Did you end up swapping it out?
TT is still too yellow compared to my iPad Mini 5 with TT enabled. My screen looks fine with TT disabled.
I got my iPhone 12 Pro, week 8, G9P and this thing is yellow af. This is the first time i have to use that color tint filter because i can't stand how yellow it is and with TT turned on this thing is just laughable.
I always thought that my iPhone X was yellow compared to my old iPhone 6s but 12 Pro beats them both.
I also feel like the viewing angels are not as good as on iPhone X.
Overall the screen feels like a little downgrade except it gets brighter but i don't notice much of a difference because of that yellow tint.
The good thing is that i can't see any green tint.

Do you work for Apple ? My answer is no, White ≠ Yellow.
My eyes work correctly and I prefer to see true colors, the same was I prefer studio monitors over some more "pleasing" sounding headphones.
If I WANT a yellowish display, True Tone / Nightshift will achieve that for me. However it should not be the default.
Update, green tint isn't fully gone, still seeing it in the photos apps when swiping between photos.
it took Apple around 11 months to get a green tint fix for the 11 Pro, it baffles me that it takes so long. If it is a software issue, I think it'll be fixed by september lol.

Lmao, apple got screwed big times with these panels, or did Timmy boy cheap out? hopefully it teaches them a lesson to ditch samsung and the other oled manufactures and start making their own oled panels.
This ^^. They finally ditched Intel, so hopefully the next step will be to ditch Samsung and LG as well, right?
Seeing as its not just Apple devices with the issue, I guess Sammy and LG can't do consistency in bulk.
Thing is that ....
Samsung: added a color calibrator with individual RGB control - issue resolved.
Other Android devices: Calibrator and/or Color profiles - issue resolved.
Apple: "It's close enough - go home"

And I'm actually someone who nitpicks on Apple for every shitmove they do. Which always attracts the fanboys.
I get that this is an issue for some people and yeah.. it's a bit warmer (at least my one is just a tad bit warmer).
But that is not a big issue for me and how I use the device. Of course I would prefer it to be real pure white and not some yellowish/grayish white. On my phone and for me personally it's not bad enough to make a big fuss about it. From what I've seen here, some phones are way worse than mine.
I have no idea what actually causes that, either it's a hardware problem which Apple will "magically" fix with the iPhone 13 and wants us to buy a new device or it's a color profile that Apple used for the iPhone 12 and they might fix it via software update.
Or they ignore it and tell us we're looking wrong at it.
Wow! After many months I come here to see if these issues have been worked out, but it seems that the yellow screens and raised blacks still there. I returned 3 iPhone 12 Pro Max because of this and stayed with my iPhone X. What a shame. Well, let's hope the iPhone 13 or 12S gets a better display.
Given the current pandemic situation, and it's effect on global supply chain, I am really skeptical about Apple getting it's QC standards right. I see a further relaxation in tolerance level, as the whole tech industry is facing the shortage of components.
In one of the videos shared by FORBES on youtube, it was mentioned about the iPhone 12 series display issues, and the root cause is the "inferior raw material" used for these display because of pandemic, it has become difficult to meet the high demands of Apple and thus, reducing the tolerance in favour of meeting the ever growing demands.
That's the reason even the latest batch of iPhone 12 series are plagued by all sort of display issues, had it been easy to eradicate in production line of Apple or Samsung, they would have done it by now, it's been almost 6 months since the launch.
Maybe, such issues can be ironed out starting from 2022, but for this year(2021 iPhones), I am highly doubtful and braced for some "Gate" to emerge.
Are you suggesting it would be wise to skip the 12S/13 this year? Possibly not a bad idea, especially if there are intentions to go to 120Hz displays and under display finger print sensors. Gives Apple an additional year to iron out glitches.
