Yeah... I just noticed the greys have a greenish tint around the lowest brightness setting, and the blacks are very slightly raised. Only if it’s pitch black around you, you’d barely see that light is coming out of the screen if you put up a black image. Weird thing is, it’s absolutely black when the display brightness is raised above 70 percent or so. Panel is G9Q btw
This on the latest iOS 14.5 beta 4?

Hi,

I just wanted to update you about my experience. I posted here too a few months back, I had two iPhone 12 mini’s with green/yellow tint and one had washed out colours/low contrast.

After I had two mini’s I bought an iPhone 11 Pro, but I experienced the same colour calibration problems. Skin tones looked bad, blues on my photos were greenish, blacks and greys were green. Just like on the 12 mini. I did update the 11 pro IOS immediately, I hoped it fixed the green tint issues. But that was not the case. I also got headaches and a motion sickness feeling immediately from using the 11 pro, probably due to pwm flicker. So I did sent it back.

So now I’m on an iPhone 11 since 3 weeks and I couldn’t be happier. The screen is perfect. The colours are exactly the same as on my colour calibrated monitors. I’m a photographer so colours are really important for me. The only downside was the weight of the 11.. and the size. I really didn’t want a big phone, that’s why I’ve waited so long for the mini! But I have to say, I’m used to it now. I’m very happy with the 11. It’s a huge upgrade from my 7. And the colours are even better than on my 7. My 7 screen had too much blue.

I’m hoping I can keep this phone for 3-4 years. I just like LCD screens better.

Hence, I don't think so it will be getting fixed in manufacturing line or Apple can rectify the problem in a factory which causes this tint issue.
As it was mentioned in one of the videos on youtube by Forbes discussing the iPhone 12 display issues, and the reason behind the green tint issue is linked to poor raw materials for these display panels.

Some people are saying it's been fixed on iOS 14.5. 🤔

Never trust anything that Forbes say, they are the biggest click bait maggots going around.

5 months and 6400 posts and where has it gotten anyone? The displays are what they are. Don't like it? Can't live with it? Check out the other manufacturers to see if they make something up to your standards.
What about the green tint and raised blacks? you think people should live with that?

I'm thinking about upgrading to the iPhone 13 Pro Max from my iPhone 8. It will be a hell of an upgrade regardless, especially the screen.

Absolutely!!! I’ll be keeping my 12 pro max for another year unless apples marketing can wow me 😳😂

Hi guys, I’m from Italy, so sorry for my bad english but I want to explain my situation. I've been reading the forum for a while and thanks to the many comments I read on the display of the new iphone that I decided to investigate mine too and I actually realized that mine too had terrible green halos on a gray background at low brightness. I go to an Apple Store and fortunately they recognize that the Display is faulty, and they decide to change it. The new display no longer has the green issue but it has a terrible yellow colors, I have disabled the true tone and night shift and it is remain embarrassing. I took a picture to compare my old iPhone 6s with the new one that was changed yesterday and the comparison is embarrassing. Do you advise me to go back to the apple store or this time they will tell me that everything is ok? It seems absurd to me and pisses me off so much that a device so expensive have this problems.

I'd be going back, screen doesn't look right at all. 🤦‍♂️

I imagined it, but I hope they won't give me any problems due to the fact that it has just been replaced. I'm really pissed off, I would never have abandoned my 11 Pro if I had known about these problematic screens, unfortunately I lost my time and I cannot return it otherwise I would have done it in a hurry because I am really disappointed. My iPhone is only a month old and the Display has already been replaced, and the replaced Display really sucks 😩.

Edit: I just booked an appointment at the Apple Store for next week, I will give him all the evidence I can to try to solve this second huge problem.
I have just noticed another problem now: if I put a black image it seems that I have the display off, if I turn down the brightness it seems to have a disgusting dark gray, if I turn up the brightness it returns to normal, this is also a defect and I will point it out.
I keep you all updated, this iPhone 12 is turning out to be a really sad experience.
To you all who have an 11 pro or an xS, please friends, think about it ten times before buying the 12 series. Just a simple advice.

Feel sorry for you, you need to get your phone replaced if you can, the phone exchange is a gamble most times, most of the phones have some sort of issues with screen or camera, lots of people not happy with the 12s and I have had 6 in total, 3 good and three bad but the good ones still had some issues, like green tint or low brightness etc. The thread keeps on going because apple keep selling bad apples lol.

People are seeing things, these displays are calibrated this way by apple intentionally, there is NO fix or change coming.

So which one is it then?

MJJGiu's phone is pretty much what my wife's 12 looks like. After a lot of back and forth between Apple their result was that they have refused to repair/replace the screen because "It's only Cosmetic".

The best they said I could hope for was an iOS fix "in the future - sometime" and that they were aware of it.

If it’s as yellow as MJJGiu screen then it’s definitely a faulty screen. 🤦‍♂️ His screen looks like he has night shift and True Tone turned on.

Yeah, a good American friend of mine just did a ‘border run’ (in order to extend his tourist visa). He currently lives in the same area as I do (I’m a permanent resident here). Anywho, he used the opportunity to pick up a new 12 Pro Max, AirPods Pro and the newest Apple Watch (it’s all much more expensive in México). I got to check out his new Pro Max and I was actually shocked at how yellow/warm the screen was, compared to my 12 Mini and all the other recent iPhones I’ve used/tried). It made me understand this thread much better than before, lol. However, my friend actually liked the (imo extreme) yellow/warm colour, because he thinks it’s better for the eyes... I dunno... 🤷‍♂️ I was just very disappointed trying out the Pro Max IRL, TBH... I thought it would have been noticeably better than my Mini (mostly due to the price difference and some improved specs), but I honestly didn’t see it... I actually much prefer the ‘tiny’ screen on my Mini... 🤷‍♂️

Call them up and speak to a supervisor, don’t settle till you get a replacement.
We noticed the yellowing the day after she received the phone, and was told we could have got it replaced "possibly" by the carrier if she had managed to get into a store within 7 days to compare to other 12's (which was impossible as all stores close-by required appointments and no slots were available). The carriers also do not have display models currently due to Covid which meant getting to another location altogether to even view other 12's.

By the time we could get to a store that actually had models on display 10 days had passed.

Servicing is done though an authorized third party here, not Apple direct with them relaying their findings to the Apple supervisor handling our case. As there was no diagnostic issues showing on the device, and screen uniformity was within guidelines they were not authorized to send it back to base due to a yellow screen (I should point out they have no means to check and rely on a visual inspection only - which I certainly do not trust).

As the phone is on a contract we have no recourse whatsoever. So unless the phone decides to break under warranty we'll get charged either way and if we refuse to the debt collectors call knocking.

If it was during normal times I'd be chasing this to the end of the earth. But the pandemic has made getting anything like this sorted out almost impossible, due to Appointments, waiting times, in-shop restrictions, lack of staff, unanswered emails, phone calls etc... Between us we spent close to 20 hours trying to sort it out so far ... my final word: don't order new toys during a pandemic unless you are happy with zero support when things go wrong.

This is the first major disappointment I've had with an Apple device and service in over 20 years. Hopefully its my last

As I've said multiple times IMHO the whole issue could be avoided forever across existing and new devices completely if a simple color calibrator was included in iOS and not just some crappy color overlay.

I am also Italian and since the first day I have complained about this yellow screen .. Apple does not recognize the problem and even in the Apple store they say that I was lucky to have a more yellowish screen so I protect my sight 😂 mine too it was super yellow but after several months and updates it improved a lot but still remained a little yellow compared to previous models ..

First of all thank you for answering my doubts in my post, guys.
Update, before the appointment on Wednesday, I talked to the telephone support and explained the situation to him, they confirmed to me that it is not normal for the display after the change to have these defects, that is too yellow and above all at low brightness, the background black becomes gray. We'll see if they'll replace my iPhone or not, I will update you.
I wanted to ask another question if possible, when I tilt the iPhone a little the colors turn a little to blue, is this normal for an oled display?
