I think they're just saying it'll be a bummer if we get a highly anticipated refresh rate improvement but the color quality still sucks.what correlation does the refresh rate have to display calibration? serious question

wishful thinking, nothing more.
I have a G9Q panel and I also had two G9N panels, one was cool and one was a little warmer but both quite uniform and sharp, The G9Q appears to be like the G9N that is a little warmer but no way yellow and I think probably the best in terms of being uniform and colour accuracy all round in photos and videos. I don’t know know if the G9Q is a bad panel grade as I’ve read on this forum but mine looks great.Does anyone else here have a G9Q panel?
It is the one that my iPhone carries and compared to my girlfriend's which is a G9N it is identical.
I do, 69Q with little bit yellowish display. Returned today and will wait till buy a new one
Here my 12 pro max I picked up two days ago. Looks fine to me
That looks perfect assuming you aren't using color overlay. With 50% brightness and true tone off
Tell me what you think of the screen
Thanks, I haven’t updated since I received phone on the 8th two days ago on 14.3 and probably will wait for 14.5 as my previous phone I updated to 14.4 and it was laggy lolYou have a important security software update that needs addressing 😁👆
Nice looking panel.

no I am not using colour filters, just true tone off. I would rather return and get a refund than use colour filters on a £1200 device that should have a great screen as advertised. That looks perfect assuming you aren't using color overlay.
That is exactly my argument. But they have refused to replace my wife's as its "only cosmetic" and she could not get to the original carriers store within the 7 day return window as its by appointment only and their shops do not have models on display anymore (or anyone that could do anything anyhow without referring to service) meaning a special trip to an Apple authorized center to check the apparent differences between other 12's - not happy at all with the outcome.
This has been posted on here a few times and what I don’t understand is a few people mentioned that they have a G9Q panel which is not listed on there. The grades maybe true as I have had a G9P and G9N and also a G9Q and I can confirm all three are uniform and not yellow with true tone on, close to perfect white, a little blue with true tone off , so if the prefix are correct then G9Q is missing from the list , does anyone know why? There could be more prefix grades we know aboutIn my opinion G9P stands for Samsung
Found this:
Prefix G9N: Samsung Good Grade panel (Very low chance of being a bad panel).
Prefix G9P: Samsung Poor Grade Panel (Moderate chance of being a bad panel).
Prefix GVC: LG Good Grade Panel (Moderate chance of being a bad panel).
Prefix GH: LG Poor Grade Panel (High chance of being a bad panel).
Whatever about the physical color "as it stands", it's something can obviously be sorted by a software fix or the addition of a calibrator. This has been posted on here a few times and what I don’t understand is a few people mentioned that they have a G9Q panel which is not listed on there. All iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max models are using Samsung screens. So this panel ID theory is rubbish:

BOE Rumored to Supply iPhone 13 Display Panels After iPhone 12 Failures
Display manufacturer BOE will be one of the main suppliers of OLED panels for iPhone 13 models, according to a new report today from Taiwan's...www.macrumors.com
“Samsung Display ended up shipping the panels for the higher-end iPhone 12 models and the iPhone 12 mini, while LG Display made panels for the standard 6.1-inch iPhone 12.”
Apparently, no, Apple does not consider it faulty if the largest part of the device does not perform as expected. So would the phone be considered defective then. Because it has a little yellow tint but none of the other problems
Not everyone has great color vision. Just like millions of people think Spotify and Apple Music sounds "great".Not sure if this is a wider issue affecting more phones or people just don’t really care
Look at post #6265.This is a 12 pro that was made in Week 3 in January and I have no clue on how the check which panel I got with the Samsung or Lg and I would really like to know how to check that because all I have a yellow tinted white, blacks are perfect and no flickers.
