Four months later and they still haven’t fixed this ****. Insanity. I’m going to start the return process tomorrow and ship this back on Monday. I’m pretty deep in the Apple ecosystem but I might have to jump ship to a Galaxy. I’m tired of these trash screens from Apple and their suppliers. If Samsung is saving their best screens for their own phones, give me one pleas
How is jumping ship to a inferior product with terrible software and customer support going to solve your problems? 🤔

Samsung had the same green tint on their previous galaxy phones, it took apple a while to fix the green tint on the 11 series, it’ll happen on the 12s

😁

The blacks on OLED screens are supposed to turn off for the pure black color. What’s happening with the iPhone 12s OLEDs is the blacks aren’t completely turning off. They’re staying on so the display has a gray/green tint to it.

The best way to test it is to go to YouTube and search for “pure black video”, throw one on while you’re in a completely dark room (I noticed it most while laying in bed under my blanket at night) and change the brightness from around 10%-30% while the video is playing. If you have the issue, you’ll notice the screen isn’t completely black and it has a backlit grayness to it or green tint. If you press up and down with the volume rocker, you can also see the greenish tint.

Some people notice it when the phone boots in the Apple logo, some have a weird flickering screen, etc. Its a pretty common problem. If you don’t notice it, I wouldn’t go looking for it. It’ll drive you crazy.

A few pages ago people said Apple fixed it in a beta update but who knows. I’ve seen conflicting reports.
Thank you, I am going to check mine to see as I am still eligible for a return

I have checked my screen and I can see a great tint on the top of the screen if I press the volume rocker, but it’s only one cm down and the rest of the the screen is black, also I have watched hdr videos with black and my srcreen whether in low or high brightness is always black. Now this green tint that I see is a defect I’m assuming and it’s supposed to remain black even when the volume rocker is used. Please could you confirm as I would consider returning my phone, thanks

Finaly jailbreaked a14 device
Is there any tweak can fix this yellow/green tint issue?
Im looking for something like good night

It seems that the Samsung Galaxy S21 phones have a green tint issue. Don’t think it is a case of Samsung saving their best screens for their phones. Good luck with playing the phone screen lottery with Samsung.

If it were me, I would exchange the phone for another one.

They disgust me ( Samsung ) I was a long time standing flagship user in fact one of my Note 20U had green tint. I hope the OLED market expands so that Apple can use other makers instead of the cost cutting Samsung OLED panels. I think currently choices are limited to BOE, Samsung and LG.

Yes! Lovely warm screen for me, please – can't stand that cold blue shizzle.
No ugly warm yellow screen for me.
I want natural color screen not warm not cold.
And I always disable that god awful true tune bs feature too.

Haha. I actually do still have the raised blacks on this unit. I was going to spend the rest of next week trying to use it with color filters on to see if I could just live with it (I desperately need a new phone). I was watching a video in bed just now and noticed it when the screen went black.

IOS 14.5 beta 2 actually fixes raised blacks.

Yep. Nothing new display wise. Beta 2 reduced the green tint that affected Grey's - but it's still noticeable. Whites are still very warm.

99% sure they did this to fit the Dolby Vision spec given the cameras shoot in Dolby Vision. It matches spec pretty closely.

Still ugly af imo.

So the greys look more grey in dark mode, or when viewing this forum? Can't wait till apple piss off samsung and start making their own oled panels.

Absolute filth of a company.

So there's no solution coming to this issue and we are stuck with this yellow tint?
Correct, only issue is the green tint problem that apple is working on, it’s been fixed for some but not for others.

Apple has deliberately calibrated the displays a bit warmer on the 12 series this year, you can rule out anything changing in the future when it comes to display calibration.

I’ve honestly gotten use to the slightly warmer tone of the display.

That's a very strange move by Apple, I honestly couldn't be bothered with editing my photos all the time so it will look as it should on my Phone while my other devices show the pictures as they should be shown.

Very disappointed since I've been waiting a long time to do the switch to a newer device (I upgrade every 3 years or so) still using my iPhone 8 Plus, I guess I'll either have to go for the 11 PM or wait for the 13 in hopes that something will change but seems unlikely.

If you want a white balance adjustment added, for the screen, make sure to send the request to Apple feedback. If enough people request it then maybe Apple will add it as an adjustment to iOS 15.
