Are you suggesting it would be wise to skip the 12S/13 this year? Possibly not a bad idea, especially if there are intentions to go to 120Hz displays and under display finger print sensors. Gives Apple an additional year to iron out glitches.
Given, how terrible the QC has been in this pandemic era. I would rather sit tight and won't update not alone for 120 hz and under display scanner.
They have ****ed up the calibration of normal 60 hz display this year, God knows what will happen with 120 hz and UD scanner.
I guess, best way to guard yourself is not to be the 1st one to buy and wait for couple of months, and watch out how fairly they have done with the new phones and to make sure that their is no "GATE" or something.

I'm in contract for two years now anyway, so plenty of time. At this rate, I'll be skipping this year and next year's phones!

I update you, this morning I was in the Apple Store and it all had some really dramatically comical implications.
I pointed out the completely yellow Display, and the Genius as soon as he saw it immediately went to deactivate the True Tone, what a surprise surprise, it was already deactivated.
After some discussion, he went to get an exhibition model and compared them, actually there are no differences and they both have a really creepy yellow piss, so he felt there was no problem. Moral of the story: Apple has embraced the yellow piss theory and we can't get rid of it.
Secondly, I pointed out that at low brightness, black is not absolute and you see gray, and I pointed out that being an oled the pixels should be off when the image is black, he looked at me confused and I he said it is impossible for him to see completely black. Wtf?
However, a comparison was always made with the device on display and it presented the same disgust, so this is also completely normal and is not considered a defect.
In the end, he told me that this year the backlight of the new iPhones is stronger so it is normal for you to notice these things, the new software updates should solve these problems.
Moral of the story: iPhone not replaced, I have the yellow piss display and that's okay, the blacks don't turn off completely at low brightness and that's fine too.
Moral of the story 2: I repeat, you who have an iPhone xS or 11 Pro, keep them tight.
That's all.
Was that a true story ?

I have a weird case here... I have my Xs and the 12 Pro side by side and the 12 Pro looks definitely warmer and more yellowish.

Took a picture with my camera. And they booth look the same on the picture, but not IRL? How? I'm not the only one who sees that this iPhone 12 is more yellowish.

Completely see it, and colors just more vibrant on the XS IMO, I cannot stand how greens look on my 12. I really never so much as even ruminated on any of this with an XS, XR, 6/7, but this is the first time I've had a consistent disgust impulse with a dang display. It's just awful looking. I really do not understand how they f-cked this up.

Lmao, apple got screwed big times with these panels, or did Timmy boy cheap out? hopefully it teaches them a lesson to ditch samsung and the other oled manufactures and start making their own oled panels.
Agree. God I hope they don't renew these panels next year or some similar config.

I'm still on the 8 Plus and I too am very disappointed with this display... I have never bought an iPhone and had an issue, everything was always smooth and great until I bought the 12 Pro Max :|

I know the feels. I'd prefer even a damn iPhone SE's display, I'm serious. Looked great to me, if it didn't have a home button I'd pick one up asap lol

Some of them aren't yellow, so it's not intentional.
But the ones that aren't yellow are a little darker.
Maybe there's some kind of filter or fix secretly in there.
Either way, it's a ****** display.

Coming back to this thread and seeing this is still an issue is not surprising. I'm also not surprised to see the theme "maybe the next one will be better" cropping up. This is so common for all things Apple. They always get a pass as no one else makes iOS phones.

OLED on TV's is great (large static devices viewed from one angle in use) but not on mobile computing devices. The manafactuers have sold us magic beans because OLED sips less battery power so they can crame in all the other power hungry trinkets to help sell the product.

Hey Guys,
Anyone have a brandnew iPhone 12 (NO PRO OR MAX) March or April manufactured?
What about their screen tint?
It doesn't really matter of how recent build it is, there will always be one. Same for 12 Pro max, there is still screen tints for March build and I have one build in march. But honestly I don't care about screen tints. My phone always stays in Dark Mode, so really doesn't bother me much.

April 2021: Issue is still preeminent!
I had an iPhone 12 Pro for 6 months that has all the issue that everyone is reporting (Yellow tint, greenish black screen, and OLED pixels doesn’t turn off all the way in black images “very noticeable in the dark if you opened a black picture”) I waited for a software update to fix it but that never happened! Even the 14.5 beta and RC. I tried to get it replaced but Apple refused, so I gave up and sold the phone and decided to get a new 12 Pro Max 512GB 2 days ago! The phone arrive yesterday with the exact same issues!!!
I’m returning the phone and sending a letter with it to Apple!
I’ll wait for the next iPhone 13!

Google iPhone 12 Pro yellow tint!

You won!!!! Classic.

I hope with the new iPhone 13 display, 120HZ, Apple really brings the crispy clear whites out.

Nice idea... Though, do you really expect anyone to read it? They will throw it in the bin and continue counting money from all the other iPhone sales and the extra money they made from using subpar components.

The ones that are at the store are not yellow at all. They are crispy white.
I’ve realized under light or during day time the screen does look better, once it gets darker you can notice a yellower display and green tint is very visible especially in dark mode, greys look horrible on this forum. 🤦‍♂️

The slightly warmer display doesn’t bother me, it’s the hideous green tint and yellow/green looking greys.

Apple better fix this with a software update or replace iPhones that are affected by green tint, if they don’t hopefully people open up a law **** against them, paying $1849 for a **** screen isn’t right.

It sounds like we’ll be waiting to pre-order the new iPhone 12s/13

How high is the chance that they will simply use the same panel again? Or use equally sub-par components again? If nothing happens, Apple learned that they get away with stuff like that. And they will happily do it again for the sake of profits.

Let's see how that continues...
