He’s got ocd massive. I believe he’s claiming that the 13 isn’t as bright as the 11 or 12 for the given brightness level slider. The testing principal is flawed because they are two different panels.
I wonder if that’s actually really true… maybe he’s just seeing things 😂 I thought the display was crystal clear. It has that blue hue.

It’s clear and good for me also. If I was going to be a complete knob and nit pick I’d say it has a slight red pink bias.
It’s true to him when he puts the 13 next to a previous iPhone and sees his new 13 not as bright. There’s no helping him , I consider myself his buddy and will support him either way 💯 %

Don’t give up. There’s hope. Maybe overnight his screen will turn brighter or maybe the screen just needs to burn.

Gonna head to the apple store today and compare my screen’s white to the display models. If it’s noticeably worse I’ll make my case to them. If not, and they’re all like that, I’ll probably just move on with my life lmao. I have set my phone in light mode for a day now to try and get my brain “trained” to the warmer white, and… it’s actually kind of working, if I do say so myself!

Yeah, the problem is just that it’s literally impossible to test and all results are anecdotal at best. The maximum brightness is determined by software + the ambient light sensor, so it’s always changing. Two phones under the same lighting conditions may decide to allow different maximum brightnesses based on any number of factors.

That said, far be it from me to judge anyone for nitpicking their new device after spending so much time in here going on about white points, myself!

Return it and reorder it the normal way. You’ll just have to suck it up with the wait time. That’s what I’m doing now. I booked an appointment with apple store for this Friday. Since walk ins around me are not welcome. 🤣 I’ll then carry on pestering you with my uniform S21u OLEAD panel and order another iPhone 13PM when stock becomes available. This time I’ll order it for pickup in store and open the box to check for frame damage before leaving. Bonus being we can then continue on the thread that her royal highness @TheYayAreaLiving created. 😅
@LFC2020 whats the status update? Did you ended up getting it exchanged?
I’m waiting for the email from apple support 🧐✉️ I’m not sending it back with a courier, then going to a store to pick up my phone lol, restriction or no restrictions, I’m taking the phone with me for a straight swap 😁🤦‍♂️😂

I normally end up getting my way with apple 😊😂

My local apple store gave it the ok, just have to get apple support to agree and let them know 🤦‍♂️🙄

If they don’t let me exchange it in store, I’ll tell them to email the store to let me exchange it after these restrictions have ended 🤦‍♂️😔 or I might just keep it, not sure yet to be honest 🤷‍♂️

Chunk missing of the frame edge.
Really need to stop chewing on your phone mate 😂 at least I got some good news this morning, after complaining about my case taking 30 years to ship, apple told me keep it and they'll send out another case for free, what am I going to do with 2 green leather cases. 🤦‍♂️😂

@TheYayAreaLiving heard you're after a apple leather case $50 for you, plus free shipping. 😁😂

Is it going to be a replacement phone or a brand new unit (fresh out of the retail packaging)?

They told me they have gold available right now, was about to crack up laughing on the phone 😂 5 week wait on sexy Sierra Blue 😳 the lovely lady on the phone has extended my return period and will see if she can get a express replacement for me, it'll be brand new, I actually prefer a refurb, so I can go into my local apple store and check out the screen before I take it.

Either way I'll have options, just a bit tricky with these restrictions in place at the moment.

Decisions, decisions, decisions. 🤔

I’m too scared to check lol. Don’t want my OCD to kick in. I don’t even know how to check or what am I looking for. Honestly.
If you're happy with it, I would strongly recommend not checking, your OCD levels will reach new heights if you see something you don't like. 😳😂

Only reason I checked, I noticed straight away without comparing it to my previous phone, I was using my 13 Pro Max at a higher level brightness in the same lighting conditions I would normally use my 12 pro max In, I knew straight away that my display wasn't as bright as my 12 pro max. 😔

Enjoy your phone, don't bother checking, it's 99% percent to me, apart from my screen issue.

I wonder if your going to start a new thread for iPhone 13 not having brightness level up.

Don’t give me ideas 🤦‍♂️😂 I’ll upset to many people with their apple tinted glasses on, don’t want people stressing out over their newly purchased expensive iPhones. 😊 I’m a good guy like that, sometimes. 😂

Doubt macrumors will put up a article about it.

If you won’t someone else will 😂

do you think it can be fixed via a software update? Or is this a hardware issue?

@Limeybastid lucky I didn’t buy the new iPad mini, I was this close to pulling the trigger, it’s even dimmer and more yellow than the iPad mini 5 🤦‍♂️😂 Tim Cook is really paying peanuts for these displays 😂

I’m wondering if it’s the luck of the draw… I compared my 6 to my 5, and the display on the 6 is much brighter than the 5 with both on the same settings.
