My iPhone 13 mini also has a yellow tint (serial number G9Q, so Samsung's second class display). What a shame, Apple! My buddy also has the 13 mini and his display is perfect. Rich bright colors and a natural color temperature. Mine looks like it's permanently True Tone on (which it's not). The iPhone will be exchanged. If the next iPhone also has such a display I probably won't buy an iPhone.

Apple has lost the trust for me. Apple used to offer quality for a high price. Today the price is even higher and the quality even less.

Does anyone else here have an iPhone 13 Mini and how is the display? And what serial number do you have? Do you know if Apple will exchange the iPhone with the yellow tint as a reason?

There is no such thing as second class or B grade displays. It’s a Macrumors myth. 🤣 aka old wives tale. If anything they are all Samsung B grade panels since the iPhone 12 onwards. 👌🏼🤣

No, you are.

How do do you know he’s wrong? I’ve never read anything about second class or B grade displays except for on this site.

Then please explain to me the color differences between my iPhone 13 Mini and my buddy's. It may be that Apple and the display manufacturers don't differentiate between first-rate and second-rate display panels, but the differences are definitely there and I like the colors on my iPhone 13 mini much worse.

You’re obviously new to the oled debacle on iPhones. G9N , G9P G9L etc all have varying uniformity “characteristics”. It’s a mere coincidence in your case. Those serial numbers N, P, L for the OLED panels don’t represent their grades. If you read all 700 plus pages of the thread and also do enough exchanges you’ll also realize this.

It’s called being lucky. And based on your response it’s clear that your just assuming that there are second class and B grade displays

anyone could drop the method to identify the Panel Serial number again?

I dont want to plug my iPhone into 3uTool.
Thank you

After I returned the launch day 12 Pro I had purchased last year, to this day I have not seen a single 12 Pro that did not have a strong yellow tint. I have the 11 Pro which is warmer than the XS, but much better than any 12 Pro I ever saw.

My wife bought the 13 Pro 2 weeks ago and I thoroughly checked it before actually allowing her to use it LOL.

Her 13 Pro has no uniformity issues, but does have a slight yellow tint, but much much much better than any 12 Pro. Very close to my 11 Pro. Still her previous XS is the best screen I've seen, perfect white balance.

Although there is no red tint, strong yellow tint, or uniformity issues, her screen is without a doubt, much dimmer than it should be. My 11 Pro is brighter than her 13 Pro at every level.

However, given how many issues there are with the screen, I won't even dare to return it as I'm sure the replacement will have something worse than just a dim screen.

Here's what I did.

Hold down both volume buttons and power button simultaneously, there should be a haptic feedback.
Go to Settings -> Privacy -> Analytics & Improvements -> AnalyticsData and look for sysdiagnose
Open the compressed file, save it and extract it
Open the extracted file and go to ioreg -> IODeviceTree.txt
Search the IODeviceTree file for "raw-panel-serial-number".

Is Auto Brightness turned on in Accessibility settings for her phone? Could explain the difference in brightness at the same level. I ran into that issue.

AB off. At fist I thought the “reduce white point” feature was on, but it was not. She is happy with it, so that is all that matters!

I made my contribution earlier today thanks for getting this started if we all raise out voices Apple may do something if we say nothing then they will do nothing, if I only I had Tim Cooks personal email address lol, no way would Steve Jobs allow this to happen under his watch.
Good luck with that. This 8000 post thread has been going on for a year. What has it done other than let a few people voice their displeasure for a less than perfect display?

Most of Apple's millions of iPhone users don't perceive the problems these unicorn seekers complain about and are quite content with their device. But by all means, soldier on.

Problem must only be isolated to a few hundred Macrumors members. As that Apple support community page only has a few of us grumble bunnies on it. 🤣

My iPhone 13 Pro max is G9N and it's a little yellow (without true tone) than my 7 plus (the 7 plus screen is super white!) I will share a image later
