Count my launch day 12 Pro max 128gb. It’s going back to Apple... once I use it some more lol.

mid oct 11 pro max screen is noticeably brighter and NOT yellow. It sucks I really like the new flat screen and edges more than I’d though. Didn’t notice .2 screen size increase first few days but now I do. Kinda makes my 11pro max seem more “manageable” when I use it.

Issue isn’t fixed on iOS 14.2.1

When the phone rebooted to install the software update, the black screen with the apple logo was green. 😐🤦‍♂️

He took it to the back again and came back with the store manager or whatever who compared it to his own 12 Pro (non-Max) which looked just as bad as mine color-wise and even less bright. So he said yeah, mine is normal and within spec.
I absolutely hate this. I had that screen issue with the XS (I believe) where there was pink around the edges of the screen, and the manager of an Apple store compared it to his which slightly had the same issue and said it must be normal. It's incredibly insulting. "Both of our phones are defective so that must be acceptable." Like if there were spots all over the screen on both of our phones would you say it's fine then?

Nor will any subsequent software update.... Our best shot is if Apple acknowledges this as a hardware issue and does a screen replacement program. I wouldn't hold my breath on that either though.
They haven't neither adressed green/gray screen situation so there's still hope

You have to feel for a chap who follows a thread he’s not even interested in, or affected by, just so he can add hilarious emojis to posts by nice people who have actual issues with their device. Perhaps it gives a sense of purpose somehow. He’s in my thoughts. Do add one here if it helps...
It almost seems like he's on some sort of crusade. ;)

On Launch day, some if not all Display phones will also be yellow. Invariably, within 4 days of launch, they will all be swapped for pristine, 100% non yellow phones. Swear to god as my witness. 100% chance they will be swapped.

If your yellow phone matches a display phone on day 1, wait a week. Then compare. Doesn't match? RETURN THE PHONE.

Only you can stop Apple from dumping low grade panels on the masses.

Thank you.
I mean I know it's 2020 and all, so all concept of time has gone down the drain...but gee, these 4 days sure are proving to be long...

Well got my callback. They wanted to go over how to use night shift and True Tone. The support woman was really nice, and offered to setup an appointment on Sunday to have a genius look at my phone, so went ahead and did that. Hoping for a possible exchange, although I’m past my 2 week return window (unless exchanges extend that?)

I've been proven right on this issue. So I don't think I'm the one dealing in conspiracies.

ⓘ Logical sources may have called this assertion differently

If I‘m reading that right, they measured a color temperature of 6337K, so slightly on the warm side.

Yeah seems like and also what I get from it about the pwm is that it’s supposed to be there but just calibrated for most eyes to not notice it so just maybe the display that is noticeable like mine in a completely dark environment could just have a calibration issue which can be fixed with a software update fingers crossed

Whoa, color temperature of 6337K? Am I reading that right? That's pretty far below the target 6500K, but the review doesn't even mention it?
Maybe because their 11 Pro is at 6339K, which is essentially the same, and they might think that is normal/standard.
