I will say I think auto brightness needs to be tweaked because if it’s enabled it’s way to dim in certain environments like if I am sitting on my porch at night with only a street light on about 30 yards away the brightness will go completely off and I can barely see the display and the same if sitting in the living room with nothing but the big screen TV on the phone will turn the brightness completely off and I can barely see the display so I turned auto brightness off and keep it around 40 to 50% much better for me

Well to my eyes and I set both settings on my daughters 11 pro max which was previously mine the same and compared whites and asked her to compare and she choose the 12 pro max keep in mind she is 12 her eyes and much better than mine at my age also I checked a few out at Best Buy today and their units were good white points if I remember but again just my eyes and I know that yellow displays are out there because I have seen them in this thread and I would definitely return those

Can you post some comparison shots of both phones? Not sure if you already have.

Ok, someone help me out. I posted this comparison a few pages back:

X on the left, 12 pro max on the right. The X was a replacement this year because a battery issue. The 12PM is not that blue, but it is on the cool side. I am going to assume everyone wants that 12PM screen versus the X screen?

Here are a few in complete darkness 12 pro max on the left and the 11 pro max on the right sorry if they are not perfect but I took those with my Note 20 ultra as I said it's all in the eyes of the beholder these are different brightness settings

The display looks pretty good in my opinion and I agree this year the iPhone series is leaning towards the warmer side from everything I have seen but that is ok with my eyes but there are definitely some awful piss yellow displays out there

12 Pro Max Looks good. Mine didn’t look like that. Even the colors pop more. Can you take some with TT on? Also, what color/size is it and first four digits of serial please?

buying a pre owned iPhone 11 PM tomorrow instead. Saving myself 450$ +AppleCare included one more year from previous owner

i love everything about my 12 PM except the screen. I cant stand the yellow tint, not going to play the lottery game this year so buying the 11 pm for a cheaper price.
Might buy 13 if it actully comes with significant improvements from the 11 Pm instead.

A Lot of this info here is speculation. I can say for sure I have a iPhone 12 PRO 256 gb Graphite launch date phone (production date 10/4). The screen is perfect. I compared to numerous phones in various apple stores and I am convinced it is one of the best screens out there. It's a F17 and a Samsung G9P screen (supposedly the bad one) Who is determining that the G9P is bad? Thats toals BS.
I am totally happy (This coming from a person who returned 5 iPhone XS phone because of the yellow screen) I am also a color matcher by trade if anyone is interested. Thats my 2 cents.

CC

im interested in matching the color of my 12 PM

That is exactly what I did, but went for the 11 Pro. Not a single thing I miss from the 12 (11 Pro feels better on my hand too). I'm still monitoring the thread as my wife will need an upgrade soon plus I want to know how this plays out as it will drive my decision to buy a 13 or not.

The panel in my max is in every condition better. No ugly yellow/green tint like the old 12 pro, absolutely no glowing at static pictures.

At the test with video

The flickering is slightly there but much less on the max as on the normal 12. Backlight was around at 10 % backlight.

I gave my iPhone X further but I had it for a while so I’m be able to compare it with the 12 pro and 12 pro max. Im be also able to say that with the iPhone 12 pro, was something wrong.

The 12 Pro I get first was so ugly that I went as soon as possible to our local market to compare it with other iPhones 12 pros and max... The end of this story, I bought a 12 pro max. My iPhone 12 Pro Max has a Perfect tint compared to my first iPhone 12 Pro and also to my older one iPhone X.

Anyone of you know whether it is possible to read out the panel with iMazing software? Then I could give you a feedback which model I have installed.

Wouldn’t it be better to just return it in the store and then place a new order just use another phone until the new one comes in?

I was thinking that was but I had already sent my phone back to Verizon.

I will say, my 12 pro Max isn’t as bad as others here. It had the yellowish display, but was close to as bright as my 11 pro Max was. My daughters however at Max brightness is noticeably lower than her previous XS Max and she still has a yellowish tint. She is ok with it as she keeps hers on dark mode 24/7 and the brightness way down.

Since mine wasn’t as bad as others, I was able to find a good look when playing with the Color filters and am actually very happy with the way it looks now.

Still hoping for some type of adjustments in future iOS updates but I’m not expecting much.

I got a deal where I signed up to pay 30 monthly payments on my AT&T bill in exchange for them giving me $700 credit for trading in my iPhone X. I’m afraid backing out and getting in on that deal again would be very complicated. Everything is complicated with AT&T.

Do you mind posting the first five characters of the serial?

Just looked at Costco’s iPhones. 12 Pro Max is same yellow as mine, serial F2LD. iPhone 12 is absolutely perfect white, serial F17. So they do exist I’ve seen them with my own eyes.
My starting iPhone 12 (2 devices) were yellow here in Germany. I returned both and didn‘t buy a new one until know.
Yesterday I saw my friends 12 mini, it was not real yellowish just a bit warmer. But for my eyes, the XS is perfect and the 12 mini not as good. ;)

The main issue i see now is that the photos taken with my 12 mini are looking yellow even with super white background!

You guys are all repeating yourselves at this point. How about posting something new concerning this issue? Every time I get an alert someone posted something new here it’s just repeating the same things. There’s 2500 posts. Stop 🛑

unless there’s a response from Apple or a new solution

and no I don’t want to see a picture of your phones yellow tint

Actually we must continue to post yellow screens so everybody can decide what to do with their ”premium” iPhone with ”best display ever”.
Do you all think that low brightness green pixels are connected with yellow screens? In both cases, green is dominant color of the spectrum.
