You know you're a mac geek when....

... upon opening your brand new very first Mac, you continually sniff that "new mac smell."

My iMac had a distinct smell the first few weeks. It lost it quickly, but the two year old box in the basement it came in still smells like the new mac smell. It's fun to sniff it to remind me of that wonderful night...

I can't believe how many people call the open-apple key a command key! It doesn't even say cmd on it! (at least the PB G4 I'm on doesn't... maybe some keyboards do. I never look at the keys, my fingers know where the open-apple key is)
Apple user since 1983 in 3rd grade
Mac owner since 1992
And yes, I do say Open Apple C or Open Apple V when saying what shortcuts are... anything else doesn't sound right.

I still say control rather than command or apple. I could never shake the windows shortcuts, even though I switched three years ago.

I really get frustrated when I use a windows box because I'll keep pressing Alt+C instead of control+c.

...when people at school call you "Macintosh"
...when you read this thread for an hour when you need to be sleeping
...when your family pc users call your mac "that fruit"
...when your screen name is themacguy12, but your .Mac account is themacguy29 because you had to try the 60 day trial for iweb and the name is taken.

When you start thinking about other purchases in terms of Apple products.

(e.g., "$1500?! I could have had 5 :apple:TVs for that, or 3 Mac minis, or an iMac!!)

Texas, unfortunately.
(This happened this morning)

When you are half asleep (I say things that don't make sense or I think my mom said something, when in reality said something VERY different from what I thought she said) and your mom says get up, and you thought she said "Go use Dashboard", so you get up, turn on the Mac and use Dashboard.

I was emabrresed.

That made me laugh.

...when you've run out of Apple stickers. This thread inspired me to put one in my locker, but I must've used them all up because I can't find any. Guess I'll just have to buy a new Mac or an iPod. :)

EDIT: I just found some. Looks like I don't have an excuse to buy a new Mac or iPod again, after all. :(
