This is the other part of the eWeather widget...
I've found that just one weather app doesn't do it for me, so I actually have a couple set up in my widgets... LOL

The other part of the eWeather widget looks a lot better. Can you also ad rain forecast per hour/day as well in inches/mm or % as well to the widget or not?
I have that as well ;) I'm constantly testing out various weather widgets. I do hope that one of these apps does improve their widget and has it all. I really hope that Widget Weather, Crisp Weather, BeWeather2 or Partly Sunny would update their widget and shows it all including minute by minute rainforecast for the Netherlands like the Buienalarm and Buienradar now (only) can in their widgets.

I decided to also check out a few other great weather widgets which are:

AccuWeather (free, remove ads 3.99 dollar once)
+ has some sort of minute by minute rain forecast for United States, Canada, Sweden, Denmark, United Kingdom, Ireland, Japan, France, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, Luxembourg
- use to much space, too big icons in my opinion
- lacks % or mm rain per hour/day
- lacks weekly (7 days) forecast

Accu_Weather_widget.png

Weather Underground (free, ad-free costs 1.99 dollar a year)
+ has some sort of minute by minute rain forecast (also outside of US so it seems)
+/- has another radar widget but I would love to see that integrated in the same widget
- use to much space, too big icons in my opinion
- lacks % or mm rain per hour/day
- lacks weekly (7 days) forecast, it did have this feature but no longer shows it

Weather_Underground_widget.png

Weather Forecast / Live Weather (free, 1.99 dollar to remove ads once)
+ nice UI
- lacks minute by minute rainforecast
- too much unused space/margin between info
- lacks % or mm rain per hour/day

Live_Weather_widget.png

Yandex Weather (free)
+ nice UI
+/- minute by minute rainforecast (only Russia)
- too much unused space/margin between info
- lacks % or mm rain per hour/day

Yandex_Weather_widget.png

Weather Nerd (3.99 dollar once + 3.99 dollar per year subscription)
+/- has various widgets (Day, Week, Hour), I would rather see one widget and choose in settings what you want to see
+/- minute by minute rain forecast (limited to certain countries)
- the widget take up a lot of space, these should really be able to be smaller
- lacks mm of rain per hour/day

I'm using the free version of BeWeather and it does what I need of it. Really good weather app, and looks like money well spent for the paid version if you require more features

I've been using BeWeather2 for several years... love it. It uses Weather Underground for data, and has fully configurable options for the weather screen, iPhone/iPad widgets and Watch complications. Configurations include color schemes, weather icons, and a ton of weather information, maps and more.

WOW, that Partly Sunny widget is nice!

Anyone else not getting the rain amount chart in BeWeather BTW? It's not showing up in the app or widget (but I have it enabled), but it's definitely showing up on the Dark Sky website.

Somewhat late to the party... but...
Not sure if this is your issue, but the Rain for the hour forecast (Minutely Forecast) only works for the GPS location, and not for any others that you have added.

I just heard from the developer that an update is expected today for Partly Sunny which will add the option to also show mm/inches of rain besides rain percentage chance. I still love the UI of this. I would also like to see the option though to reduce the size of the widget a bit so with a bit less white margin to keep more space available for other widgets.

Here is the preview I received from the nice developer:

precip_Options_3_preview.jpg

- Partly Sunny - 2.99 dollar once
+ very nice UI
+ shows rain percentage
- lacks mm of rain
- takes up a lot of space without data on it in Notification Center
- minute by minute rainforecast available in select countries

I like the look of this weather app especially the "dark theme"...I might have to get it....

While the UI is nice, it's yet ANOTHER app powered by DarkSky. This is fine for short term rain, but it's general forecasts and temperatures are generally not accurate for my area.

I looked up Atlanta for you since you're in Georgia:

Thanks. I have soooo many weather apps that I probably don't need another one, but I do like the look of it. I'm finding that most of the weather apps are usually 2°/3° off from one another, but generally get the conditions correct in my area.

A lot of the apps are indeed using DarkSky (forecast.io) source data including the very nice apps/widgets from Partly Sunny and Crisp.

I do know a few of the good ones that use other sources though but indeed there aren't that many:
BeWeather2 - Weather Underground (correct me if I'm wrong there)
Widget Weather - Either met.no or openweathermap.org

Unfortunately I can't use that Forecastadvisor you are using to check the reliability because it only can give that for the US. I do wonder though how these other weather services (e.g. met.no, openweathermap.org but we also have a few other local Dutch weather services as well such as KNMI, MeteoVista, Weerplaza) and the US ones are actually doing as far as reliability for Europe, the Netherlands. I do see difference though between the various weather apps (and their different sources) but can't yet point out which one is almost always right and which one isn't for my area in the Netherlands.

Still using Dark Sky myself, it's semi consistent, and sort of blah at this point. I'm hoping 11 will galvanize and spur the market for weather apps.

Hey guys have you seen there is a new weather app in town called Today Weather (see this topic) which is currently in beta. I'm testing it myself now as well. It can switch between various weather sources which is a big advantage. It's still beta so I've noticed that e.g. the temperature was lacking earlier for the upcoming days (pretty crucial). UI wise it's slick. It could also use a widget (the developer says it's in the works) and lacks mm of rain besides % of rain chance.

I've also found Climendo which seems to have had some promo a long time ago on the various news/tech sites. I'm curious if you guys tried it as well. They also look at various weather sources and compare them which works best for your region. I'm just testing their free app version. There is also a paid 3.99 dollar app version (once I think).

Does anyone know which apps use data from Weather Underground? I myself know three:
- Weather Underground app (of course)
- Weather XL
- BeWeather
- Today Weather (beta, as mentioned above)

Weather Line uses an excellent and easy to see line chart for the next 24 hours per hour. Each hour has its own forecast and details.

It also has the next week's forecast per day in a line format, with specifics upon selection.

Finally, the next hour's precipitation's data comes from Dark Sky's system. With this, one can see exactly when rain or snow will start or stop by the minute.

Excellent, clear and simple and not so gimmicky.
