In Messages it seems like the way to add things like Bubble Effects is via 3D touch. Will non-3D Touch devices be able to add these these types of effects? Does it require the 3D touch or do you really just tap and swipe up?

By bubble effects if you mean the slam/loud/gentle/invisible ink effects or the background screen animations, it is currently triggered by 3D touch. I don't see any alternate as of now. But again, you might have read that many of the new functions are available only on 3D Touch devices in the first dev beta. So, we just need to wait and see if you get these iMessage effects through long touch.

However, for sending sketch or heart beat or stickers, no 3D Touch needed.
It's kinda odd. The slam/invisible/etc. effects require a 3D touch on the send button. But the 6 quick bubble responses work with a long press. It would make more sense to me if they were both 3D touch on 6S and both long press on older phones, as doing the other action on either does nothing.

There's no Memories tab on my Photos app. How to enable it? On my Mac it works fine, but no sign of it at all on my iPhone. And the smart search feature also doesn't work. Help, please?

Can we buy apps without a password now with just Touch ID? I'm sick of entering my password every time to buy something, even if it's a free app.

(Only happens after a restart but usually by the time I download another app I restart my phone)
Well, that's because after restart this kind of thing is necessary, so nothing would really change that, aside from you perhaps not restarting so often maybe (or if it's not often, then it sounds like entering the password isn't something that happens often either then).

Can anyone expand on how Raise to Wake works? and how it responds to when phone is being carried in purse or pocket? Just curious if the screen is going on all the time, and if it can tell when you take it out of a purse to look at vs the obvious raising it from laying flat on a table...

Screen seems to only turn on when I want it to. It feels pretty smart to me. Not turning on in my pocket as far as I can tell.

So you're telling me I can use my fingerprint to make a purchase up to $100 using Apple Pay but for whatever stupid reason I need to enter my password for the App Store? Do you see where this doesn't make sense?

After a restart you can't use TouchID until you unlock the phone with your passcode/password the first time.

Exactly my point. So why do I have to enter my passcode and then my apple password?

Can you "open in" MP3 attachments into the Music app? I hate how the only way to add music files from outside sources is by adding them to your iTunes library on a Mac.

I noticed on some very popular you tubers them showing a loophole to get iOS 10 beta without being on the Dev programme, if Apple caught on could they block your account or would you just get thrown off? Hope this is ok to ask here. (Not talking about the ones where you pay a bit to use their Dev account)

You don't get it.

After anytime your phone restarts you need to re-validate your Touch ID. That includes your Passcode to unlock the phone and also your iTunes/App Store password.

Same goes if you don't use Touch ID for 24 hours.

That's how it's always been done and will always be done. It's a safety precaution.

I get what you're saying but you don't get what I'm saying.

Why do I have to enter my password for my iTunes account every time I restart to make a $0.99 purchase when all I need to do is enter a 4-6 digit code and use my fingerprint to buy an item that's $100 (Apple Pay)

Anxiously awaiting public beta release. Anyone have any ideas to when?

I know the answer but I can't think how to explain it to you.

Apple Pay and iTunes are separate services.

Your credit card details are setup within your Apple ID whereas Apple Pay works differently. It's for extra protection basically.

Do stock apps really get deleted or they're just hidden from the home screen?

Stock apps are part of the core build and can't be physically deleted. Removing them from the home screen merely hides them and deletes the associated user data. You can restore them again from the App Store, but this is merely a convenience used because that's where people expect to find apps. The mechanism behind the scenes is different than for a third-party app, however. Nothing is really downloaded, so it's instantaneous. The app is merely unhidden again.

After a restart, you always need to use your passcode. There needs to be some way to unwrap your encryption key from the secure enclave. However, thereafter, Touch ID works for app purchase and has done so since iOS 9 (as has the ability to turn off the need for a passcode for free apps).

In keynote, they said July.

Where is the setting for free apps? I can't find it

A long press on the send button just works fine. No need for 3D Touch.

I get it now. Again, it's what lagwagon said. You MUST insert your passcode after a restart so that Touch ID is authenticated with the Secure Enclave. Obviously once you've inserted your passcode you can use Touch ID to buy stuff (again, up until your phone restarts).
