Error when runing ziphone

When running ziphone from my MacBook Pro (running os/x 10.4.11) I get the error below. I have seen this message (or something similar) in this thread before, but have not yet been able to find a proper solution for it. Any hints?

iFlix - Netflix Manager is broken
This works fine, you just need to fix its permissions. Use mobileterminal or ssh to go to the iFlix app in /Applications/iFlix.app ("cd /Applications/iFlix.app/") then change permissions to 755 (or whatever) on the iFlix binary ("chmod 755 iFlix").

Apologies if my terminal paths/commands are off, doing from memory.

I'm running an IMAC and 1.1.3 iphone. Ugh... i've tried just about everything to jailbreak this baby and with no luck. Any ideas?

SO.... if I go to an apple store buy and Iphone and fly back to Nicaragua (where I live) use JB then insert a GSM sim card I will be able to use the iphone on my network?

Thinking of getting my first iphone here. I am currently an ATT customer for wireless (no data). Can I buy an iphone and use my existing ATT SIM....to get all the benefits of an iphone without a data plan? Thanks.

Several of us have received this same error...nobody seems to know why...:(
IIRC, ony those of us running Tiger (10.4.11) are getting this error...

If you read the description, 0.5.3 IS ONLY SUPPORTED ON OSX10.5

10.4 or less you are out of luck for now.

Ack!! This jailbreak method was great, but YouTube doesn't work...can someone point me to a fix? I get a "Cannot connect to YouTube" message. I'm pretty sure I saw a fix for this somewhere, but now I can't find it....

Questions before running ZiPhone

Hi,
I'm total new to the jailbreak and unlock thing, but excited about ZiPhone. I just have questions before I actually go for it:
(1) I'm not familiar with all the terms, but I bought my iPhone a mouth ago new from Apple store with 1.1.2 loaded and upgraded to 1.1.3. My SN indicates it was made on week 51 (4th and 5th digits). If I've read correctly, I am with bootloader 4.6, right? So I guess my phone is fully qualified for both jailbreak and unlock with ZiPhone?
(2) In case anything happens, do I only have to run update from iTunes again to put 1.1.3 back, as if nothing had happened?
(3) I'm with AT&T. I don't really have to unlock. But it would be nice if I could use the phone occasionally on other networks. Is it easy to unlock too?
Thank you very much.

total Newbie question. When you say 0.5.3 what does that refer to? So I just upgraded to tiger this weekend. What version of Tiger so I have be using? Thanks for any help.

10.5 means OSX 10.5 (or higher). Currently the Ziphone GUI (version 0.5.3) is not supported by a Mac OS lower than 10.5. Hope that clears it up.

For those of us running os x 10.4....

I was messing around with the jailbreak when it first can out yesterday before the gui's came out. I went to iclarified.com and followed the tutorial they had posted. When i did the i had to run it manualy through terminal and it ran all the way through but i could not get installer to show up after the phone rebooted. All i was trying to run was ziphone -j. I spent several hours talking to ert3 on aim lastnight and he advised me that it may only work if i run ziphone a- -j -u. So i then follwed the tutorial from iclarified.com to the t and i was jailbroke on 1.1.3 when it was all said and done. Everything seemed to work excep a couple apps from installer and youtube or mail wouldnt work. Then this morning i restored to 1.1.3 and tried to rejail break and then i got the same error that everyone else on 10.4 is getting. After some thinking , trying to figure out what made it work and now not work this is what i came up with. When i origanly when to iclarified.com and followed the tutorial it had extra steps , i dont remember them work for work but i do now that it had me backup mobiledevice.framworks from termanal, then i had to load mobiledevice.frameworks taht was in the ziphone file . Then when i was done with the jailbreak i had to go back and restore the original mobiledevice.framworks. Iclarified.com has since chaned the tutorial and these steps are gone. That is the onlything that i did different so it has to have something to do with it bc i for sure was jailbroke on 1.1.3 using mac book pro intel 10.4.11. I dont know what to do but for the ppl who are smart enough to fix this , this may be of some help.

Maybe I missed something like a large warning with skull and cross-bones, but I used ijailbreak 0.5.2 on on my Tiger system to unlock my never-been-jailbroken-1.1.2-OTB-upgraded-to-1.1.3 iphone with no problems at all (that I can tell).

I played with the "customize" app and that seems to cause the phone to crash every time I made a change, but other than that, no problems.

Used this with a UK legit o2 iPhone that was upgraded to 1.1.3 from 1.1.2. Worked fine. Everything works including visual voicemail, YouTube and Maps. well done. :)

I have a UK 1.1.2 OOB phone that I updated to 1.1.3 in iTunes. When I activate & jailbreak with ZiPhone I have the 04.03.13 bootloader. The problem I am having is that unlocking the phone leaves me back with 04.02.13 bootloader.

Is there a way to fix this?

They're not bootloaders. They're modem firmware version numbers. Your question, however, is valid.

Does anyone know a method of unlocking and keeping the 04.03.13 firmware?

so i'm gaining the courage to use this one, but should i *update* or *restore* to 1.1.3 before running?

edit: just chose update. seemed fine.

quit itunes and launched ijailbreak - and now while the unlock is running, itunes keeps launching itself :(

will just have to sit and wait, and hope that it works *scared*

edit2: freakin' sweet! it worked. brilliant. fantastic! :D

kudos to the developers!

Use Activity Monitor to quit iTunes Helper in order to avoid this sort of behaviour. Personally, I remove it from my startup items using the Accounts pane of System Preferences. End of problem, although I now have to launch iTunes manually.

Okay I think I finally have the balls to try this.

I have ijailbreak downloaded. I have a otb 1.1.2 updated to 1.1.3. All I want is to jailbreak my phone.

Do I simply quit itunes plug it in and use ijailbreak? Or do I need to put the phone in recovery mode?

Thanks, I can't wait to try it.

youtube/ipod issues

i tried jailbreaking with 0.5.2. the jailbreak was fast and easy - installer.app appeared just like old times. i installed a few of my fave apps, and deleted weblinks to the lame surrogate web games.

however, i could not connect to youtube, but even more mysteriously, my ipod app stopped working properly. the tunes would not play when selected, regardless of how may times i paused/unpaused - the playhead just would not advance.

sadly, this functionality is pretty important, so i had to restore to 1.1.3 again.

anyone have similar issues? any solutions?

allllrighty then

i JB my new iphone, also unlocked.
here's my little saga. i've used att for about 2 weeks, it really sux and the pay for account got sucked dry in one day, with the phone sitting in the cradle, idle...i want to use it with another carrier. people have mentioned that they can use the phone part of iphone with other providers, can someone point to some/one?
a buddy is using tmobile, but she didn't do the hack, younger colleagues set up the iphone for her. how does one proceed after freeing the device?
