I've always hated that behaviour too, when skipping through images. (It's hardly a selling point to people who recently switched from Windows, neither.) I would love to see this changed and just have preview skip to the next picture by itself.

That would describe me, I'm a recent convert from Windows and there is alot to like from my perspective but this is one of those things that immediately stood out as being a PITA. I thought for sure it would be one of the things changed.

Labels?

Any change to Labels? In the old days you use to be able to customize the colors of labels, now under Mac OS 10 you can only customize the name :(

You can change the colors of labels just like in 10.6. I've been using OS X since 10.3 and don't remember this functionality changing at all between 10.3 and 10.7.

He's talking about OS 9. Back then you could pick whatever color you wanted.

No!!!!!!
⌘G = Group Selected Files into a Folder has been disabled and no longer works in Preview 3 !!!!

Damn, but that was an amazing feature!

not for me

Right I've been battling to get passed the login screen, installed the third release up from the first, no good, then installed the second and then the third. Now I get the login screen but every time I enter my password I get a blue screen (as if its moving forward to log in) but then get put back to the log in screen. I know my password is correct because I reset it with the install disk.

So I can't get passed the log in screen, I ued to have no password but its the same thing, a blue screen as if I'm going to get to the desktop but then go right back to the log in screen.

I've read the threads and tried removing the "IO80211Family.kext" folder, tried removing the "PlatformSupport.plist" and even reinstated it with my board number "F22788C8" but it still will not work. I've verified the disc and repaired permissions on the external HDD where I have Lion installed and am not sure why its not working.

I have a White MacBook 13.1" late 2007 w/ 4GB RAM

Anybody?

Help!....

Looks like I'm the only one who have this serous problem. My mac is MC372
I cannot type my password when I was going to after I installed the DP3
It first happened when I closed it while I was running out the battery, after I charged it and I cannot type pw in the login window. I though it was a little bug then I shut down and restart it, I can type the pw.
But this time, restart doesn't work anymore. I'm sure about it's not the keyboard's problem because other words like capital lock and shift work, but the only thing I can type is the space, and if I press the shift at the same time, i can type something into it, but what a pity that my pw is not capital words and space.
I tried my wireless keyboard too, it has the same problem, there is no reason that two keyboards broken at the same time and have the same problem
I really hope there is someone can help me to solve it? I really need my Mac
P.s. I didn't told it to ask for pw when I start the computer, I don't know why does it do so now

update via the software update tool = best results

Cleaninstall.jpg

Well, I went your route. It took me hours, but it worked. Everybody hates a reinstall. I erased the ext HDD, then reinstalled the first release of Lion, then the second, then upgraded from within Lion via the System Preferences: Software Update tool, before I just downloaded the releases and installed them.

Now everything works fine.

Thanks.

Does anyone know if Safari will recognise White space in the URL bar like FF? This is about the only feature in FF I like.

Is that because of better SSD support (TRIM etc) or will a standard 7200RPM HDD also boot up faster?

Sure hope they finally fix safari's seemingly inevitable slowdown problems once you use it for a month or so. Always having to reset stuff and delete library caches gets bothersome. And it's still not as fast as when you compare it to the safari in guest account.

I have a conventional magnetic disk hard drive, and Lion seems to boot a tad faster than Snow Leopard. I think they are trying to make the transition from book logo to login screen quick and seamless, which is why we now have a redesigned login window.
