some time ago I read that there is a way to view youtube videos in Safari without flash player.
How can I do that in ML?? what do you recommend? flash player or the other way?
So you would have to reconfigure everything, no? Why would I want to do that?
I've never had problems with upgrades ... also Lion seems a tad bit slower than SL. Hopefully ML will change that.
Reconfiguring everything takes around 20 minutes. It's not such a big deal. Just do the system preferences one more time and customise your finder and that's it. The 3rd party app preferences you can just copy paste.
Great news. This means it's only about one year until Mac OS 10.9 !!

Just a few years ago we would have been paying $129US (About $200 here in AU) for this, so I think $20 is a small price to pay for the latest update, but I'm hoping the new iMac comes out with ML installed so I won't be paying for it anyway
Can someone do a md5sum "filename" on the image?
i have 802bf873b7eb5c9a4dccc1962e96fdba
is this correct?
I'm using the Safari extension YouTube5. It encodes every video in HTML5, plus a few other things like a different UI and automatically playing in 720p or 1080p. A lot of videos don't work yet with google's HTML5 trial, while every video I've tried works with this.
Installed on Late 2011 MBP15 w/Crucial M4 SSD
Things I noticed right away:
Airplay mirroring does weird things when connecting and disconnecting with volume so make sure your volume is adjusted after you make a switch. Note: I had to use volume keys to get volume levels to display correct.
Don't have facebook integration. I think this is another download or isn't coming just yet. A developer might be able to explain the deal with that one.
The battery time remaining option is gone, you can have icon and percent remaining but not the time. You can click on the battery to see the estimated time remaining. I know I for one will miss this option.
The version of Parallels I have will not work. I have 7 something but it's not working.
Time Machine icon is not spinning in menu bar when backup is going.
Feels faster then lion. I am not seeing much change in ram usage.
As mentioned clicking Software Update in menu bar does open the app store now.
Facebook integration beta is available below the link for Mountain Lion.
Time Machine icon spins for both my Macs.
Parallels works for me with the latest version.
As mentioned in someone else's post, OS updates are in the app store, but do not require you be signed in to update.
Also, to the gentleman with friends in the bush in Africa, was there an Apple store nearby they were hoping to pick it up from?! How were they going to get the update anyway? Drive 500 miles to the nearest dealer?
Being over the internet would most likely help them get their update sooner, rather than later - they just need to find a place with internet. Surely that would be easier than finding an Apple store lol.
Another quick note according to gfx card status opening and running Chrome is causing a switch to discrete graphics and not switching back to integrated until chrome is quit.
Oh no we can't take it anymore...time to start the OS X 10.9 rumour threads
That should not be news really, on windows chrome has always been the first to heavily use the graphics card to render a lot of things, which more and more browsers are doing to speed up things.
Anyway all I'm saying is, it's not surprising
For the library issue, i just created an alias. It took like 10 seconds, and works just as well as the terminal method.

Uhm, on Lion you can show your Library folder simply pressing the "Option" key while you are on the "Go" menu on your Finder.
Good question. Don't let the fanboys who voted your post down discourage you... You asked a valid question. The reason many people (such as myself) will likely be sticking with Snow Leopard is because it was an OS based on code actually optimized from earlier versions, down at the building block level.
Fanboys are not critical. If Apple releases something excellent, fanboys reply with praise. If Apple releases a piece of crap, fanboys reply with the same level of praise.
