Hi, you guys really point out many details. As I am reading through all the pages. I have two questions:

1. What is the version number of python in Mavericks? i.e. in terminal "python --version" or "python3 --version"
2. About 10.8's mission control, there is an option "When switching an application, switch to a space with open windows for the application" in system preferences, but some built-in app (yes Finder, the most important one) doesn't behave according to the setting. It's very frustrating when I trying to staying concentrate on a certain space when there is Finder's window already open in any other space.

May I know how are these going in 10.9 please?

python: 2.7.5 in DP2.

yeah the notification centre integration and the mini player on top of other windows, work well.

I've been dying to hear if the ability to choose the duration of the snooze for iCal notifications has returned.

Prior to 10.8, you could choose to snooze an iCal notification for 5, 10, 15, 60m, 1 day, etc. That ability disappeared in 10.8, always snoozing for 15 minutes.

Can anybody confirm if this feature returned? I'm hoping with overall more 'capable' notifications, it has.

Snooze times are back. See a screenshot here (the OS is in Romanian, but you get the picture). You have to keep the Snooze button pressed to see that menu.

Yes the branding of Mavericks suggests that it should look like that. It does look quite good and appropriately refreshing.

Stranger things have been known to happen. Leopard had some new GUI changes late in its dev cycle, although its cycle was longer than Mavericks and I don't think Apple will pull a fast one on developers. We'll have to wait til 10.10 for a more drastic change like that. It is curious though how the branding mimics iOS 7 when the OS itself looks nothing like it. (Although maybe it makes sense because Apple's marketing designers designed the look of iOS 7!)

Just dug through the iTunes 11.1 beta .rsrc and found the ibooks icons, may be coming very soon.

icon is on the Apple sire, though not as big. Hope App Store/iTunes get similar icon updates.

I still think iBooks OS X won't be out until public release of Mavericks.

iTunes is now in notification center

I don't have any section for iTunes in my Notifications Preference Pane.

Any idea how to get this? Or is it part of the beta for iTunes 11.1? I'm running 11.0.4.

Where is the beta for 11.1? It's not showing up on the OS X Mavericks page of the Mac Dev Center for me. Perhaps because I'm not in the US?

Thanks, James.

Oops. Not true at all. It is only iTunes Radio that is US-only at the moment. Found iTunes 11.1 beta on the the iOS Dev Center.

So itunes radio will be available after release of iOS7 to all the countries?

Mavericks seems to have X11 installed as default. Can't believe i missed that.

Apple has to make licensing agreements with every country just like they did with iTunes. Hopefully there will be a few more countries added at launch, but expect a long process.

From what it looks like here, it keeps the notifications in NC. So will every song that plays stay in nc until I clear it? That would be annoying!

Correct but you could just uncheck show in notification center like with any other app that has notifications...

Updated as of this post.
You still have one error in your list:
- Activity Monitor has options to view processes by hierarchal views. [[Pic]
It has had this option for years now. It has been there since 10.4 I believe, maybe even before 10.4.

Mavericks seems to have X11 installed as default. Can't believe i missed that.
No it has the icon for it as was the case in previous versions. In 10.8 clicking on the X11 icon would launch a dialog asking if you wanted to install it. When answered yes the user was redirected to the Xquartz download page. Running the Xquartz installer will replace the X11 app with Xquartz. I don't think 10.9 has changed this behaviour though. Could you check what happens if you actually run the X11 app?

Ok, i guess your right. But that still doesn't clear the fact that it is installed (icon) by default whereas for me ML didn't do that.
