They took out swipe to dismiss notifications  Also does anyone else have the problem where you swipe to go back in safari and it still shows the webpage you were on?
-MBA 2011 11" 4GB ram Core i5 (if it matters)

Havent had your second issue, and swipe to dismiss works fine for me.

So far, I'm not too happy with the upgrade :(

- Safari topsites look so ugly now, there was no need to change that.
- WTF did they do to Notes? it used to be so simple but nice looking, like a real notebook. Now it's just a pale green, why o why....
- My external monitor got a surprise calibration, it's much darker than before. Tried using the old calibrate safe and that one just looks weird and bright now.

Now the good:

- Safari seems to run faster, but is also buggy, sites won't load, the beach ball appears for no reason.
- The Launchpad folders look nicer.
- I'm liking the notifications for sites like MacRumors.
- I'm glad Finder got tabs, but I'm missing the + button to add a new on like on Safari, now you HAVE to press cmd T.

So it seems my standard settings were altered, from the screen, the mouse speed and the scrolling speed, no idea why that had to change. And I don't like these things to change when I'm used to them. :p

I gotta admit, I had a few small issues, like Launchpad is a little buggy, and iCloud was convinced my password was wrong. But it luckily stuck with me and after the 15th time of me putting in the correct password it eventually worked.

But so far, I really like tabbed Finder. Makes transferring files to and from my drives a lot smoother. I just really wish Mavs didn't take 6-7 hours to download.

Time for a faster connection. Did it in about 30 minutes this afternoon. You could go into an apple store to get the copy as well.

Scrolling

Right now, I literally cannot scroll in Safari, Firefox or Finder. I haven't tested the rest of my apps yet, but some like Notes, work. Has anyone else experienced this?

Don't know if anyone caught this yet -

Reminders & Calendars Notifications now have variable snooze durations. Just hold your mouse button down on the Snooze button to get a pop-up menu.

I'm seeing lots of complaints and issues but I have to say i am really happy so far. Battery seems better on my 2013 MBA which it was already great so any improvement is gravy.
I also feel like overall speed is improved. Browsing in both safari and firefox seems faster.

I personally really like the new notes. I didn't care for the old version.

Dont

Its a terrible update , and there was no chance they could charge anyone cash for this .
Things used to be so simple on Apple .............

As a DJ I literally HAVE to wait a while until Serato is rock solid on it, so will probably not be able to update until January.

Keeping a regular eye on this thread, though!

Is it me, or have system fonts changed ever so slightly? Folder and hard drive names appear bolder than before.

Animated sparkles signifying updated app.

Having issues with sound. When I raise or lower the volume from my wired apple keyboard, there is a delay on the volume rocker, and a delay with the clicking sound that you hear when you raise or lower the volume.

well I don't venture much on new OS X Mavericks yet.
But so far I have encountered 2 problems.
First, Wi-Fi that is accessed to phone tethering keep spamming me with dialog box that contain the word "Success" from this link https://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html
Second, I gained around 20gb+ of disk spaces. While I don't believe Spotify uses that much spaces to store my offline songs. But all of the songs that I downloaded from Spotify to listen offline has been gone and I have to re-download it.
It is quite disappointing as in my country here, internet uses is based on quota and it is not cheap either.

Incompatible Docking issue

My time machine keep ejecting itself, try to use another drive for backup it still like this, am I the only one have this issue?

Then i try to use another hdd dock, Time Machine working right now, seem like Mavericks not support my ORICO and UNITEK hdd dock. >.<

Update: Try to test on sending large file to the ORICO and UNITEK, the dock keep unmount automatically too, it was so annoying.

My Lacie and Seagate external drive seem working fine, only those docking station which support more than 3tb hdd not working.

You are having a laugh , can you not see all the complaints on this site alone ?
No wonder it was free , theres nothing here anyone would have paid for .

People generally don't come on here to sing Mavericks praises. People will post when they have a problem, not when things are running smoothly. Out of the total number of people who have downloaded Mavericks, I would say the vast majority of them are happy with it.
