In More, tap Edit then drag the icons down to where you want them. This way if you want updates as a one button option you can just move the icon to the bottom.

I know that. I just think when really all of the links in the app store could have a quick shortcut (just by moving the redeem button to a spot on the update page). I'm not going to replace featured, categories, top 25, and search shortcuts. It just seems to me redeeming a code really isn't a use a lot feature (at least comparing to the other shortcuts) warranting it's own section. It seems like an unnecessary extra step, I feel like TheSpaz now.

As I said I really don't care, just noting it.

Seems the deleting animation in Mail (and others?) is a little different using the swipe method. Before the item would completely disappear horizontally before the next item would move up to take its place. Now it seems these two animations happen more or less in sync, resulting in a smoother feel.

Sorry if this has been reported already.

now the badge on the App Store goes away when you start the update. previously it stayed there until the update was over. sometimes you even had to re-open the App Store for it to go away.

If you play a podcast that has notes included, the notes are now displayed as soon as the podcast starts:

App store reviews no longer default to 1-star ratings - they now default to no rating and require you to choose one. Nice to see so that apps aren't accidentally rated 1-star.

Didn't see this one listed.

If you are using a docking device (such as a USA SPEC Interface for your car radio...), if you are listening to music but not in the iPod application, now when you skip to the next track it no longer exits whatever program you're in and brings you to the iPod application... it leaves you where you are. It used to do just the opposite, which was a pain if you were in the middle of doing something because you had to remember NOT to skip the song you were listening to otherwise you'd close your current application.

The calendar application in the iPhone finally syncs subscribed calendars in iCal on your desktop.

Plus, Google Sync allows 25 synced calendars to your iPhone now!

iCal now has Monday as the first day of the week, and I hate it.

you can change that because that happened to me before. if your using anything to sync calendars with (i.e. iCal) change the settings on there. i wasn't syncing with anything so i had to end up doing a restore to fix it because i got on my nerves.

Calendar Notes Address feature

If you have an address in the notes field of a calendar appointment, the address is highlighted like a link. Tapping on this link, takes you to maps automatically and searches for the address!

I didn't read through this entire thread again, but I don't remember seeing that you can now agree to new iTunes terms and conditions on the iPhone. In older versions you could only agree on your computer.

Alternate way of going to spotlight search

Just click the home button while in the first home screen.

Also, clicking the home button from the spotlight search page takes you again to the first home screen.

I currently do use iCal, set to Sunday as the first day, yet the changes haven't come into effect on my iPhone. It just doesn't want to sync across my settings...

Is there a way to use the shake feature in the iPod when the phone is locked? That would be idea when working out. No need to unlock or even look.

I tried, but I didn't see a setting.

yes, you can use shake-to-shuffle anywhere the iPod controls are. just bring up the iPod controls on the lock screen by double tapping the home button then shake-to-shuffle will work.

OK, nice. Thank you. That is easier then unlocking, and getting back into the iPod.

Wish you didn't have to even double tap the home button, but....I'll take it!

Thanks again!

In the text messaging app, it seems they added space between words. I'm not talking about landscape view, I don't use it, I prefer portrait view. It is much clearer and easier to read than before. No, I'm not old with bad eyes. I noticed this very quickly. Anyone else?

I can't quite tell what it is, but I agree with you that something is different and it looks more clear. I think there is more space between text boxes that are on the same side of the screen. If you type two text boxes back-to-back, they used to be closer together. Now I see a little more space between the boxes.

If there is a URL/link in notes, it is brown text instead of black and you can click on it.
I searched the first post of this thread for "link" and it's not there yet.
