i just thought about this, it will also get rid of emoji if you have it enabled (i had to re-enable mine with spell number). does anyone know if it restores the carrier string?
 
"123" Space "123" no more :)

Previously, if you were going to enter a character in the 123 keyboard and then needed to enter a space first, the space button would bring you back to the ABC keyboard.

Now you can safely enter 123 space [your character].

This also works for the #+= keyboard.

i just tried this. i typed "123 [space]" but it took me back to the ABC keyboard

Me too.

I think this may be new, when I set up google sync a few months ago it warned me that my calendar and contacts would be wiped of the phone when enabling them. However no it asks if you want to keep the contacts and calendar on the iphone and labels it as contacs/calendar from my PC.
 
This is useful because when I'm typing, I'm thinking of the next character I'm going to add, the space is automatic, I don't think about it. So if I'm going to type "I have 300 stamps" I'd follow this sequence:

I have
123 Button
Space
:mad: "DAMN! Forgot about the space, now I'm back on the ABC keyboard"
123 Button
300
Space
stamps

Now it's:

I have
123 Button
Space
300
Space
stamps

or the ability to add our own alert tones (SMS, voicemail, email, etc). I jailbroke mine just for that as I was sick of not hearing my email and text alerts or having everyone with an iphone at work check their mail when one went off haha :p

have you added the ability to switch the iTunes account while in the appstore yet?... On the bottom of any app-list :)
 
Some hidden options in the keyboard (I apologize if already posted)

You can put an upside down exclamation point or upside down question mark by holding your finger down on the exclamation point or question mark.

Holding down the dollar sign will give you lists of other currency symbols (though I think this may have been in there before, but I think they added more symbols)

Holding down period you can put in a ... or you know you can hit the period three times.

i know some of those are old but idk about all of them. if anyone wants to compare it with 2.0 a screenshot is below

that has been there since 2.x.x maybe even 1.x.x
 
Does anyone else kind of dislike how the app store is now? You have to hit more>choose updates or redeem. Instead of "more" shouldn't it just be "Updates" (like previous versions) with a link to redeem in the top right corner of the update screen? It seems like an unnecessary click.

they're both for spanish (and maybe other languages). the upside down one goes at the start and the right side up one goes at the end. i.e. if i wanted to ask what do you like in spanish it's ¿Qué té gusta?. likewise if you're saying hello with excitement it's ¡Hola!

Maybe this had already been in the previous firmwares but I don't remember ever seeing a slightly slanted dash. If it's new is it supposed to be a minus sign?

that's new, it's only slanted because of the font. it's supposed to be straight. but there are new ones for the ' and the " too
 
Noticed this when I had my iPhone plugged into my Alpine iDA x100:

When playing a song with a power source plugged in, the lock screen now shows album art instead of the battery indicator.
