magas, redsn0w doesnt load firmware onto your phone, your telling it what firmware your on, and its jailbreaking it. also did you click reset all settings, or erase all content and settings?

Redsn0w doesn't load firmware. It jailbreaks firmware already on your phone. PwnageTool creates custom firmware files, but your phone must be pwned for it to work.
Not so much. I tried ALL the USB ports on my MacPro, including the external USB hub AND I tried on my MacBook Pro too as well as my G4 and Windows PC. All give the 1600 error... all DIFFERENT USB ports.
I've concluded that it cannot be a USB communication issue. I think it's that it will simply not accept the 3.1.2 modified firmware because Apple wrote some kinda code in the newest iTunes that prevents modified 3.1.2 over DFU.
you cannot jailbreak. there is no point in trying, you need to restore to 3.1.3 unmodified. same thing for your RRRize, you need to switch carriers, or sell your phone and buy a factory unlocked one. apple stopped signing the firmware so you have no choice but to restore to 3.1.3, or have a very expensive paperweight.
This is what I have been trying to tell them (and you) since the beginning of this thread. It's what I and others have told both of them in RRRize's thread for two days. You've just been raising these people's hopes for nothing.
This whole thread is pointless. Both magas and RRRize have phones that are no longer pwned, which have no SHSH on file, and which therefore cannot be restored to anything but 3.1.3 official. Their phones will then be impossible to downgrade, and they will be unable to jailbreak or unlock until new exploits are found. There is nothing more to be said.

I have to go to 3.1.3 UNMODIFIED? I have not tried to this point, but why can't I try to go the modified 3.1.3 route and just wait for the 3.1.3 unlock in the future?
Thank you, that typographical error totally changes the fact that you've been leading these people on for three pages while I've been trying to tell you that they cannot do what you're telling them they can.

SO I lost my hash verification when I reset all my settings. God I hate apples stupid polices. It just makes me happy when we are all able to work around them. Guess I will just wait to see if they can break 3.1.3.
All because some a$$hole decided to steal my original phone.

...this is sadness. I guess what burns me the most is that I just bought this thing and it was an amazing deal and it was working JUST FINE. It's just that the guy I purchased it from had all kinds of porn and crap on it and I just wanted to do a clean sweep of it. Oh well... guess I'll just wait it out. Happily, I still have my 1G iPhone.
