Hallo,OCLP will automatically detect your new GPU when doing a "Build and Install" after having installed the new card.
In case you do already have UEFI booted Windows installed (not the normal Bootcamp way!) you can do it from there, otherwise the GRML Linux version linked to in the first post will do the job. Follow the instructions and be patient!Hallo,
my question is:
What is the best way to Flash the Vbios from AMD wx4130?
Hallo,
my question is:
What is the best way to Flash the Vbios from AMD wx4130?
Hello there everybody. I installed Big Sur with OCLP in a 27 2009 imac with the original ati card. The card failed so I bought an amd m6100 from aliexpress (maybe already flashed). Now the mac boots fine, I have original AND oclp boot picker, high sierra works fine but in big sur everything is laggy as no hardware acceleration available. I tried to reflash OCLP forcing AMD GCN in the advanced tab but to no avail. Could you please tell me what am I supposed to do? I hope I don't have to reinstall BIG SUR from scratch.
Thanks in advance
Catalina loader work but if i try to put opencore dmg to work brightenss imac sto the line progressgood morning, I flashed this k 1000m with high sierra without brightness it works, with any opencore even TUI, trying various configurations with and without kepler so it stops halfway. with OS and big sur usb
which iMac ist it? if it is a 2011 and you want to use Catalina go for the dos dude Catalina installer, it will provide working power management. If it"s a 2009 or 2010 go for open core - create the install usb (Big Sur and up to Ventura) from high Sierra- , did both successfully with a k1100mCatalina loader work but if i try to put opencore dmg to work brightenss imac sto the line progress
According to this post #16,282 you'll have to solder a bigger VBIOS EEPROM to your card first.Hello!did anyone have on A1312 firepro 5950?i have red version from dell,im looking for some vbios to flash my card, what rom i must to flash?
Hi there, i want to undervolt my RX480 in A1312, can you please tell me, whre i can get info about how to undervolt s7100x? I think steps should be similar?)Made a video testing s7100x vs K3100m, both card undervolted with a slight memory clock increase (well, quite huge on the K3100m actually)
Next up i will publish guides on how to undervolt them, to prevent the need for additional heatpipes and ensure longer operation.
As we know from the first post, there is no RX 480 ver: 1.0 that can boot in iMac12,2, unless your RX 480 is Ver: 1.1.Can anyone, please, help me? i've got an iMac 27" 2011 12,2 few days ago with GTX 765M installed in it. I've tried to install macOS Big Sur using OCLP, with no luck (i've got the video, but acceleration seems to be not working at all).
Card has vbios flashed by nick[d], i was able to get it to work with clean High Sierra install, then i installed mac os catalina with catalina patcher. Tried to boot high sierra or catalina with OCLP - no luck, it just stacks, without OCLP it boots normally. Maybe i should add some args to oclp settings to get this Kepler GTX 765M work? Any advise?
By the way, i've got second question about RX480. I've got 4GB version, flashed WX7100_GOP_4GB.ROM, got ventura + windows 10 installation, but has high frequency drops (1200 to 300), it seems to me, that i need to downvolt this a little bit, as far as i understand, the only way to do so, is to use polaris bios editor?
Seems like working power management. The more demand for graphics processing power the higher the frequency - as long as the power consumption limit isn't reached.By the way, i've got second question about RX480. Yesterday i have tested this RX480 again, and thought about GPU VRM throttling, as far, as my GPU temperature stays lover than 80-85 degrees, after 20-30 minutes of gaming card drops frequency of the GPU from 1243 to 300, and memory from 1250 to 300 too. It is impossible to play anything, when every second you got 300 to 1243, and 1243 to 300 again and again..Seems like working power management. The more demand for graphics processing power the higher the frequency - as long as the power consumption limit isn't reached.
That means that the frequency should stay at 300 when sitting idle on the desktop and when you start to move, minimize/maximize or resize windows it should rise; during benchmark runs it should stay at the maximum.
It is RX480 and it is placed in A1312 2009, 2010, not the 2011 one. 12,2 with GTX 765M.As we know from the first post, there is no RX 480 ver: 1.0 that can boot in iMac12,2, unless your RX 480 is Ver: 1.1.
Maybe it is WX7100 4GB Ver: 1.1.
Could you help us to take some pictures of your RX480 that can boot in iMac12,2? It will help some iMac12,2 users to find a working RX480.
Thank you very much
I suspect the macOS drivers to throttle the card in other situations as well - maybe when the power supply gets hot.Yesterday i have tested this RX480 again, and thought about GPU VRM throttling, as far, as my GPU temperature stays lover than 80-85 degrees, after 20-30 minutes of gaming card drops frequency of the GPU from 1243 to 300, and memory from 1250 to 300 too. I face this problem in windows, not in macOS.I suspect the macOS drivers to throttle the card in other situations as well - maybe when the power supply gets hot.
You should compare with running some similar game in Windows in order to know whether the throttling is done by the card itself (VBIOS, board design, ...) or by the graphics drivers.
Maybe then you could find out the reason?I face this problem in windows, not in macOS.
