I prefer my backups to be offline. I don't trust cloud, and I'm not willing to trust NAS systems with an always on internet connection.

Thats the beauty, you can decide yourself how you want to configure your NAS, you can build it from scratch if you are really worried. I would trust my NAS more than I trust putting things on my Apple laptop.

I would not consider myself knowledgable enough to know if a NAS is secure from online hacks etc. Networks are hard

I would say the opposite, unless you work with huge video files or similar 256 GB is plenty. Apart from the people working with such files, what do people keep on their laptops that require so much space?

PORN and lots of PORN ! Internet has fulfilled my fantasies !! lots of visual delight !!which I know in real world scenarios life can never give me !! Gosh !! I come from an era when Internet was never there when we were growing up !! No seriously having a laptop with no adequate storage is like having a luxury car which only sits two people ! I mean what the EFF ??

Really? Usage is irrelevant when it comes to preferred screen size.

Absolutely I don't get it when people say oh well ! Why do you need 15" in the first place ?? I mean cmon it is not always in terms of your requirement is it ?? It also is extra screen estate which is fun to use !! Why do people say you don't need a 15" ?? The larger the display the better isn't it ??

I have seen that comment by a few users. I agree. I don’t get it.

15” is the sweet spot for me. 13” is too small, yet 17” is too big. Although, a 17” in today’s forum factor might be nice.

I find the 15" too large to use unless at a table, if I am at my desk I have a bigger screen.

Also I don't really find the reasoning to need 2880x1880 resolution while on the road, I am fine with the 2048x1280 I use on my 13" to be honest (I could run it even higher but this is comfortable to read at a far distance).

All fair preferences.

All fair preferences.

Exactly it is just preferences. A question though. What resolution are you running on a 15"? I have seen so many people run the pre defined "more space" option as their maximum which is 1920x1200. I currently run my 13" to give me more screen real estate than that.

Agree, 100%.

My current mbp is a mid-2010, so it’s on default.

I returned the i9 last week and I receive the i7 2.6 today, so I will have to play with the resolution settings.

Having switched to 15' laptops with my XPS 15 a few years ago, I find it hard to downsize again. But again my eyesight isn't great and I like the added multitasking potential of a bigger screen (my external monitor is usually always occupied with a code editor).

Though what I loved about the XPS 15 was the form factor - the super thin bezels meant you got a 15inch screen packed into the form factor of a 13 inch laptop, pretty neat. Only downside was the webcam was placed awkwardly but I tend not to use them anyway.

Very interested to see the differences as people test this new update, though I can't imagine it not working based on the scrutiny currently.

So many people returned their new 15" MacBook Pro based off a couple of benchmarks. If this all was just a bug...

So with this new bug fix that Apple has released will the Throttling completely disappear ? Or will it be still there ? Just a little less ?

This update is 1,29 Gigabytes
WTF! Quite some overhead for a wrong "digital key"
