Yes, when you pre-order you would think that Apple would make an effort to get it into your hands on launch day.

After all, you are ordering ahead of the public launch!

I was bummed on the iPhone 12 launch (late 2 weeks) but was rejuvenated with the M1 Mini which was delivered on launch day.

Will see if the M1 iMac is delivered on Friday !!!
I understand they'd have an influx of millions of orders, but would they not have a certain allocation of different configurations already in the system to go/build? Or am i thinking the wrong end here?

I'll see if my order changes to preparing to ship in the next few days, unfortunately the nearest store to me in the UK is about an hour away, but the likely scenario they have my config in stock is very slim... (Silver/8+8/16GB/512GB)

I didn't order but you all have me just as anxious are you all are! I keep checking to see who says, "Mine just arrived" and posts a picture.
Even though mine is coming this Friday, I too will enjoy seeing everyone’s pics cuz I’m on the west coast and always one of the last to get mine. Not complaining though. It’s going to be a fun day.

Orange!
16GB/2TB
Jun 1-7
It seems to be the combo of RAM and 2TB that causes the delay. 1TB is still in May.
My 2TB is coming Friday (pink). Hubby’s 1TB 16gb is still processing or at least last I checked but charge is pending

It's a little disappointing when you think about it that, the majority of us in Europe or the UK for me pre-ordered on the day, but I still have a delivery date of the 14th June and in processing stage still... that's 2 and a bit weeks since they accepted my order, but yet, on Friday you can go into a store and pick one up!

The thrill of receiving it on launch day has kind of killed it, i have never pre-ordered things for this reason...

Is it just me that feels this way or are there others?
It has ALWAYS frosted my butt that it's done this way.... Personally I feel that if people were going to get up in the middle of the night like pre orders used to be or even take the effort to pre at 5 in the morning.... they should get first dibs on ANY stock and stores should WAIT!

What did you think of the pink after seeing the unboxing of it?
I absolutely LOVE the FRONT! I was worried it would be too orangy/salmony or even possibly too gold (too salmony based on the very first notPINK apple watch that is, in fact, a SALMON color and also based on.... i think it was my 2nd pink iPhone? that was a bit on the gold side rather than pink (well OK it was roseGOLD)

but ijustine's video makes the pink look GORGEOUS on my iPhone screen and TV screen....

not a fan of the red. i like the more magentaish tones that i see on my computer screen when looking at the apple pics. the good news is, our desks are against the wall so the only thing i'll see is the side and top sliver....

on the other hand.... hubby's all ICK about the pastel blue... he loves the back, dark blue.... we're going to have to watch for stickers for his chin! lol!

Will see if I can nab an in-store pick up on Friday.

Doubt I'll have luck with my 16gb/512/trackpad order, but worth a try since mine's slated for June..

The more I think about it, the more it irritates me that we've given over our hard earned money for something that we can get in store weeks before our allotted delivery time that we especially pre-ordered for that surprise and excitement

They are blaming it on verification, one rep was going to change my billing addy and I said No, please don't make any order changes. They still don't have an inshore release date and I spoke to management team who escalated a case to verification without changing my order.

Mine changed last week from May 21-27 to May 24-28, with a processing status still. I spoke with Apple and they didn't really offer much information other than that it is still on track to arrive in the May 24-28 window for me and that high demand shifted my date back slightly. I have the green 1Tb/16Gb model ordered, for US delivery.

So are you still chuffed for your Pink/Coral combo choice after watching iJustine’s unboxing ?
Yes!!! Actually moreso now that the front and keyboard, mouse, etc are a pretty, real pink and not and apple version of some weird pink! I'm OK with the back being red since I'm rarely going to see it.

*I assume being chuffed is good...

I have a CDW-G (Government) account and the base M1 iMac is selling for $1256.95 and available THURSDAY 5/20 delivered to me in LA.

How can they do that ????

View attachment 1776825
technically they can't deliver it thursday.... not sure apple is going to be too happy with them. that's why places like best buy (and phone stores during iPhone launches) don't deliver/sell them til release day. they follow the rules!

i agree, i always preferred the legacy rose gold to the (rose) gold apple snuck in

I ordered a purple iMac on release day. After seeing the unboxing videos I decided I prefer the green over the purple so I contacted Apple to see if they could swap them out since my delivery isn’t scheduled until late June. They said they couldn’t help me and I’d have to cancel my pre-order and go through the process all over again. So I just ordered a green one that’s coming in July.
