Hmm, last scan was 4:35 am on 5/20 in Memphis. Still says delivery today, 5/21 in California. Hopefully FedEx is just behind on updates.
My custom config is also stuck in Memphis.
I just hung up with a special department at FedEx to ask about the status since it’s not at the destination facility while slated for delivery today.

The long and short of what they told me is that it’s stuck in customs with about 125 other shipments due to some embargo restriction tied to the country of origin and customs is waiting for paperwork from Apple, and FedEx, subsequently, is waiting on customs.

Since they’re marked for weekday delivery only (cheaper service), at best, if Apple provides the paperwork today, it’ll be delivered on Monday.

I’m gonna call Apple and see what they can do on their end.

The direct number for information on this that was provided by FedEx is 800-455-4588, only open during weekdays 8AM-6PM central.

After seeing the actual photos of the new iMacs do you think the colors seem nicer than on the website? The colors appeared very intense and saturated online whereas they are so tasteful and appropriate for a work environment "in person". They are beautiful!

Apple's marketing pictures do not do the colours justice imo... the colours seem way nicer in person

Ask Apple if they can pull yours from their Apple Store destined stock ?

That's how my M1 Mini arrived - it didn't come from China (tracking) - it originated from a local Apple warehouse.

I doubt they have custom configurations in stock.

So I’ll probably have to push for it to be escalated up the food chain in the hopes they put pressure on whomever is responsible to get the customs situation sorted out and/or to upgrade the shipping to weekend as well.

Good luck, keep us posted.

I have a feeling there’s more than just one pallet stuck, I mean what are the odds that more than one of the 125 people show up in this thread?

Yup, apparently there are 120 iMac’s that are part of that shipment. Best case is we’ll get them delivered on monday as the packages have not cleared customs. 120 of us got the short straw :‘(

I am suspicious of this. What do they mean by "embargo restriction tied to country of origin"? Everyone's was made in the same country..China! Why were these 125 units targeted. Hmmmm sounds fishy to me. Luckily, I am in California and it's still early here so maybe it still has time to make it today.

You got the same story?

I’m starting to suspect it’s more than just one pallet, because of the odds of mote than one showing up here seems slim.

That said, the representative I spoke to seemed to imply that contacting Apple might provide some solutions, so I’ll give that a try a bit later.

Yeah she was talking about all these embargos from certain countries and if I’d per chance had kept up with the news etc.

I didn’t necessarily buy it, but was just relaying what I was told.

Perhaps others that reach out get different/more clear information and we can puzzle together what is going on.

I’m still waiting for my silver iMac here in Denmark, but I managed to get glimpses of the blue and green one in stores today. I have to admit the colours look nicer in person. I might actually regret getting the silver one ?

Wait.

You can go in a store and look at them? Is it an Apple store?

?

What's that like?*

* Where I'm at, you have to stand outside in a queue ( which is often 30 - 45 minutes running behind ) for your designated time to be handed something you purchased on line from a booth at the front of the store. :(

Just talked to FedEx. Held on an " Apple embargo", showing Monday delivery now. I will try your idea of getting it escalated to weekend delivery. Let us know how it goes.
