2021 iMac order thread

Do not buy an iMac with standard delivery if you can.
It was the only option for my order. Now, if I look at my tracking, I cry...

The destination is Venice, Italy.
Estimated: June 30th :(

I ordered after the initial rush, on on May 14...a 8/8/16/2TB Yellow iMac. It sat on Processing until Friday last week, when it jumped from Processing to Shipped overnight. The card was charged and I received tracking information. It had an initial delivery date of June 30 - July 8. It arrived yesterday and I'm writing this on the new beautiful iMac now. (Yellow rocks)

One side note...the iMac arrived in my home town and sat in Fedex's warehouse from Monday 6-21, until Thursday. Fedex set a due date of 6-24 and wouldn't allow it to be picked up or delivered before their date. I spent some time on the phone Tuesday to try to shake it loose, and after talking to Fedex and Apple I decided to just wait for delivery. Its here now and I love it!! Fast!! and big screen. Love the Touch ID although Face ID would be cool too. A great device!

Congrats!

I got the exact same config and color. Love the yellow too! Love the yellow gold color of the base and peripherals.

Edit: Card now charged for computer (a couple of hours later). It'll be interesting now to see when it ships and how long it takes to reach me in the UK. Still says processing on Apple's site.

Yay for you…. I hope this means my will be shipping soon. I ordered a purple 8/8/256 on May 21st and still stuck at processing and nothing charged to my card yet… fingers crossed that it will happen soon….

Seriously I'm nearly 50 - I'm worse than a kid before Christmas...

Our lovely new iMacs will turn up soon enough, then we can discuss who's got a wonky one! 🤪

Why don't order with standard delivery?
 
I’m thinking of just ordering from Best Buy or Costco as they have the silver 8/8 8gb 256 in stock and would be delivered in a couple of days. Mainly for home use and for kids who are in elementary school. Doubt I’ll need anymore more than that. My iPad Pro has been my main computer for the last few years.
 
My blue iMac finally arrived today. Initial impressions, colour of the blue on the stand keyboard and mouse is very subtle. I almost thought they had packed the wrong accessories. It really does depend on the lighting in the room. The machine itself is very fast, it actually seems faster than my M1 MacBook Pro but that maybe the extra ram. I went with 16 gb for the desktop.

My order's just moved to "Preparing to Ship"...

(ordered on 22nd May from UK - Orange 8/16/2TB)

...okay I admit it - I'm still checking about once an hour! 😜

...and shipped! 😃

So quick recap - I ordered on the 22 May a maxed out orange iMac to the UK and was given an estimated delivery of between 6th - 13th July.

Card charged Friday 25th June

"Preparing to Ship" Monday 28th June

Shipped today Tuesday 29th June (from Shanghai)

New estimated delivery date of 5th July 😋


Incidentally I don't need a "maxed out" iMac, but all my previous Apple products have lasted a very long time and I tend to keep things until they fail or pass them on to family. Previously I've had a little buyers remorse that I didn't spend a bit extra on a higher spec BTO version - well not this time!! (and anyway - it's a 50th birthday present to myself! 🥳)

still preparing for ship here and my delivery estimate is June 25 - July 2nd
getting towards the end of that delivery estimate.. shipping to US and im guessing probably shipping from somewhere here.
 
My green 8/16/512 just shipped from Shanghai for Hong Kong.

Ordered 25/5; original delivery window 3/7-10/7.
Charged 25/6
”Preparing to ship” 28/6
Shipped 30/6
Estimated delivery ”by 5/7”.

Oooo... That's nice and fast!

My iMac having departed from Shanghai on Tuesday now seems to be having a stopover in the Republic of Korea.

I assume that it's doing all the best tourist sites and will have some nice photos to show me when it get's here... 🌃🛫
