Checked out at 1:15 pm est (10:15 pm pst) and got a tenative shipping date of October 10-17. Purple Pro Max 256. Checked all the other colors and memory sizes and got same ship date.

Any reports of issues with using Apple Card, like last year? This is my first year ordering with it, so I'm not sure if any problems would've shown up by now.
Had that last year. Couldn’t complete the order until I switched to a different card. If your order processed, I wouldn’t expect problems later.

Yeah, that was an instant decision after keep refreshing web and app didn't help. Kids were waiting in car to be dropped to school early today and didn't want to use iphone while driving.

Major orders like iPhone... UPS will be the main freight carrier. FedEx is too expensive. the only time Apple did not use UPS was in 2020. In 2020, During the Covid season, Apple decided to go with Cargo Lux Fright Carrier to ship our iPhone 12 Pro's. They also used charter flights to move the shipment forward. That was the only time. Last year UPS delivered our iPhone 13s.

Had a disastrous time ordering through the app this morning. Order finally placed about 8 am Central with a delivery date between October 3-10.
iPhone 14 Pro Max 512GB deep purple.

Just got changed to expedited shipping but it didn’t improve my 9/23.
Well - that makes so little sense. Many of these "postal service" orders were reportedly finished as early as 8:02 - which I imply would mean they were from the deliverable on launch day 9/16 batch, but for some reason, either because Apple actually chose incredibly slow 7 day UPSP service for some orders - or because the system screwed up on these orders and assigned a non existent "postal service" option for launch day deliveries - it is now being reported as delivery on 9/23. If in fact Apple is planning to use slower that book rate 7-day delivery vis USPS, then upgrading should improve that a wee bit. If it is, as I suspect, a glitch - then changing it to a real delivery method should also improve delivery. Unless you actually ordered a phone that was at that moment appropriately meant to deliver on 9/23, and fixing the "glitch" just got you the the real delayed date via "standard delivery".

As an aside, I love the crazed forum activity on these forums pre-order day, as hordes of sleuths try to figure out just what the heck Apple is doing.....

For those who did in-store pickup, can you confirm if your order status is still in “Order placed” phase and not in processing?

I ask because I ordered 2 phones: one shipped, one at my local store and want to cancel the shipped one but just want to make sure the pickup one isn’t messed up and going to cancel or something.

FYI, in case you haven't already, you might want to sign up for UPS My Choice. It's free and allows you to see the tracking all the way from China to your doorstep. I boosted my My Choice to the paid version. Gives me more options.
