That sucks. I could just be a glitch or it means some phones are already selling out for launch day.
It was a glitch with the Apple pay I believe. Some sort of verification failed. Apple had to sort it out but it was a hot mess.
Just make sure you have Everything updated. Personally, I would recommend using the Apple Card.

I just converted to esim (AT&T) on my 13PM via Settings->Cellular
Process was easy. Only took a few minutes.

Yeah 2020 was crazy. That's when I joined everyone tracking their apple watch series 6. I think me, you, and a few others barely caught a flight out of China before they shut down due to a local holiday. Fun and stressful times 😆

Are you picking the Apple Pay option? Or the one where you manually pick a card. I’m debating on which option to use for my pre order and kinda scared bc I heard some ppl were having issues with Apple Pay last year.

If I remember correctly it didn’t even give me the choice of Apple Pay.
It always just asks for a card, which really upsets me.

No, it wouldn't. Apple doesn't care about micro scratches as long it works and turns on. You are good.
