Are you going to order the new iPhone 14?

Not mine. It is definitely deep purple. Maybe there is some color variation among units. My Ink leather case is also really dark purple where others are seeing dark blue.
I guess it really depends on lighting and how light hits it. On some occasions I do see it being Dark Purple while at other times I do see it dark blue.

Just got back from the Apple Store. I purchased the Ink leather case and I love it, my favorite leather case color from Apple ever. I scanned the case myself with the Apple Store app and the whole trip totaled about 90 seconds. I love the self checkout feature for small things.

I had a look at the purple iPhone in person and itā€™s gorgeous, definitely should have gotten that color in hindsight.

If you decided to do in store trade in instead of mailed trade in. This year, Apple Store cannot process the trade in if the older device is tied to previous order for mailed trade in. If you have customer service cancel the mailed trade in, it will take a few days for the in store can process and link the trade in device to the new device to get the full trade in value to be returned to the original payment. Otherwise, youā€™ll just get a gift card instead.

Had some issues with eSim transfer but was fixed reaching out to Verizon support, but I just opened the camera app and the whole camera module started violently shaking the phone. Never seen anything like it and I can't replicate it.. rattlegate incoming?
Called it, 9to5mac now reporting on it.. Really hope my phone isn't ruined from all the shaking and that it can be fixed by software..

I wonder if they can make a case that DOESN'T collect debris, dust and dirt in its trim / frame, while my 14P looks beautiful it's been three days and having bought an official case from the Apple store I am already noticing at the rim of my phone a small buildup of dust (or so it seems); the cases they provide have an inline groove I don't think they took into account how much stuff this thing can collect (being in my pocket, bed, couch, table, etc.) - if anyone affiliated or able to influence case makers - pass the message! :D

Well... I got a tracking number for my trade-in kit. It's not being delivered to my address. According to my order on the Apple site, it's going to the store. I called Apple, and rep verified that the store is going to get my box. šŸ™„ She said that I could go ahead and take my trade in to the store and suggested I make an appointment. So I have an appointment set up for Tuesday, which is when my box is scheduled to arrive. Hopefully they can make the trade in work correctly. I have taken things for trade-ind at the store, but only if I picked the order up there, too.

FWIW, the Apple rep also woke up at 5:00 am to pre-purchase a deep purple Pro and had it delivered on Friday. We gushed together over how pretty it is.

How did it get sent to a store? Did your phone ship to your address?

I was one of those who originally did my pre-order as an in-store pickup. But Apple changed it to ship to my address. I wasn't pleased about that, believe me, but the phone was delivered OK on the appointed day. But somehow that word never got to the trade-in kit. It's going to the store where I originally wanted to pick up my phone.

Ok thereā€™s one downside to switching from Android to iPhone that Iā€™m seeing currently, the iPhone is a tad bit slower, what Iā€™m hoping is that the Apple AI & Architecture is just learning how I use my phone day to day and that will go away with time but if not I could see this a being a bit of an issue for me, but Iā€™m also still learning the iOS ecosystem again so it could just be that as well.
Hey, welcome to the family! What you mentioned and initial background processes might be having an effect. It could also possibly be iOS 16 or apps not yet updated to 16, but this will continue to get refined as the year goes on. Iā€™m using iOS 16 on my 13PM and it has been working great. What specific uses are you finding it to be slower?

Never seen an in store pickup just get changed to ship to home. Did they say why it changed?

Thanks, Few things, switching apps/opening apps from either the Notification Center or app switcher thatā€™s the main thing. Sometimes some apps take a bit to load but I will just chock that up to not every app being optimized for iOS 16 just yet. Mainly less snappy than I did on my S21 Ultra or Z-Flip 3 and Iā€™m fine with the learning curve and processes a new phone goes through but itā€™s definitely something to get used too

After getting my Space Black, I'm back on the thread as a family member wants the Deep Purple. [Oct 27th-Nov 1st].

Anyone else in the late October crew?
Yes my husband could not decide if he wanted to upgrade or not, but since we are sprint /T-Mobile we found out that he will never own his 11 pro max and keep paying lease price for it. I basically forced him to get the 14 pro max his dates are 10/24-10/31. He will keep a phone forever so at least he will own it after 2 years.

Yeah, this sounds like it might be due to optimizations. It would be interesting to see a benchmark comparison though. For the apps I use, everything is snappy ā€” even resource heavy apps like GarageBand and iMovie, Pages, Keynote, PDF Expert.

Setting up the phone new, as you did, could have a different effect compared to a phone already in use (like mine). When my 14PM arrives, I will set up as new (I always like to start clean) and compare the speed between it and my 13PM.
