I agree. Whilst he needs to find his focus again we mustn’t forget that he is standing in number 2. But he rapidly needs to get back into it again to preserve and extend his lead.Perez is still #2 in the WDC and has not been a real threat to Max so I don't see him being released - especially since he is under contract through the end of 2024. Sure, RBR can afford to buy him out, but I see no reason why they would.

Doubtful. He will stay at the team until the end of the season at least.I think that we might get to see a new driver within the next few weeks, Perez is going to be fired, Horner has to, he is just sadly not producing the results...
Partially the car brings benefit, but not anyone can drive a car like that. I am no Checo fan but don’t think he is the worst driver at all. Nyck de Vries, , Logan Sargeant, George Russel to name a few. I don’t believe that putting others in that car all of a sudden makes them good to be second. Whatever issues Checo is battling with he need to overcome, just like last year it is like he gets some mental block. He is 2nd because he drives a Red Bull, not because he is any good. He is literally the worst driver on the grid at the moment.
Perez in an Aston Martin wouldn't be 2nd in the championship.
What verbal abuse? There is just some justified straight talking, I wouldn’t call it abuse. And deservedly so. He is supposed to be the second best in the world, needs to deliver. This is not kindergarten.Any changes would be made after the season. They are not going to buy him out and put Daniel in until 2024. It's too bad to see Sergio coming apart like this. He is a good driver. He just can't handle the constant verbal abuse from Helmut and knowing Daniel is right there to step in.
But that's F1. You need to be able to handle the Circus outside the car between races.

Who’s Helmut? I didn’t watch today as too busy, it I guess they had some practice then qualifying for the sprint tomorrow so they can smash their cars up, try to get positions and keep the mechanics up all night fixing them, then they can struggle through Sunday. Hate these weekends.Correct. It’s not Kindergarten. However, Helmut can be over the top with his Max bias, and friendship with Jos.
Never cared for Helmut. No opinions will change that. 😉

I prefer no sprint race at all. Just another gimmick we don’t need.Doctor Helmut Marko. Officially, he is an advisor to the Red Bull Racing team, but he had the ear of the late Dietrich Mateschitz, who generally followed his suggestions on race seats at RBR and TR. He seems to still hold that power under the new management.
Yes today was Free Practice and Race Qualifying. Tomorrow will be Sprint Qualifying followed by the Sprint Race itself.
I prefer the new format as the Sprint Race is now completely independent of the main race and no longer determines the starting order for Sunday's race.
Qualifying for sprint race. The. The actual sprint race. 👍I'm watching now and I've no idea what the hell is going on... They did sprint and now ... ?
shootout...?
So the "shootouts" are just old fashioned style qualifying?
Haas guys still in the 3rd session. Cool.
I was just going to comment that the Aston Martin cars seem to have hit a wall but they are in there as well... but yeah, I feel like they've hit a wall...
Hulk up to 4th!
OK not gonna lie... I still don't understand. So they are going to do another sprint at 9:30 USCT?
So that was a pretty exciting Sprint Race, though I admit only because it was a drying track.
Based on today, I really hope it pours just before 2PM local tomorrow and then stops about 1/4 distance into the race.
