I believe they accidentally blocked a bunch of legitimate customers this week and have had to roll back the changes again. Which is amusing.I think it’s more likely that they are trying to play a game of wackamole. They find a VPN, close it, and then the VPN provider opens others. I tend to switch mine between the US, Netherlands or Cyprus.
I think they were rather different situations. Sainz clearly locked up, and by trying to avoid one impact it unfortunately caused another. A clear racing incident. Very different than torpedo Hamilton. The judgement of the F1 stewards is perplexing. During the sprint race at Spa on Saturday, Hamilton & Perez come together in what appears to be a racing incident and Hamilton gets a five-second penalty. During the GP, Sainz forces, pinches, or pushes Piastri into the wall on the first turn on lap one and gets nothing.
This makes no sense to me at all. I gotta wonder how the stewards would justify giving Hamilton a penalty but not Sainz. Absolute mystery....
Didn’t agree with the decision yesterday, but Piastri was a little optimistic sticking it up the inside. Sainz had Lewis on the outside so didn’t really have anywhere to go.The judgement of the F1 stewards is perplexing. Lots of overtaking today, but ultimately we all knew who the winner would be. Max had a free pit stop if he’d needed it at the end. Taking nearly a second a lap lead over his teammate.
The only thing that gives the rest a glimmer of hope is the rather public spats between Max and his team.
Shame the rain came to nothing. Could have shaken it up a bit.
They’ll break them all at the end of the season when the shelves collapse under the weight.Well, RBR did manage to break another Trophy at the Team Photo post race..... They looked "Shaken."
More exposure? World wide audiences are a fraction of what they were when F1 was on free to air TV.
Indeed. Some people I know just watch the YouTube 5-10 minute highlights.I did read an article a while back suggesting more people are watching F1 in some form, be it YouTube clips and roundups, but far less are watching complete live races. The UK, Germany, France, and Spain all took F1 off FTA TV around the same time as pay per view companies won the coverage bid. Much like the UK, in those countries the viewership went from several million each race to under a million to just over over in some cases. Less than 1.8 million people watch Sky F1 in the UK, whereas the BBC regularly pulled in 7M to 10M depending on the time in the season. If it was not for channel 4, F1 would be dead here and I’d imagine the same in other countries. Liberty are just happy with exposure figures, not the number of people who can watch live.

The Netflix thing probably helps with some interest, but I’ve never seen it.
If they want bigger audiences right now the best thing they can do is stop one team walking away with it. Not good when 2nd place and third place teams points isn’t enough combined to overtake the top team.
That and get rid or modify the rubbish tracks. Run off areas made of tarmac will just increase the number of laps deleted due to running wide.
Stick some grass and gravel there. Then the silly penalties will stop.
No one likes to see one winner. Especially by such a large margin. The race should be broadcast for free on youtube, after all the point of F1 is to sell advertising, which you see plastered all around the track, it is everywhere, yes, you have viewers watching on pay tv as there are benefits to paying for access, "all 20 on boards, pit radio blah blah, sky q and sky glass..." if you want bare bones, no Martin Brundle pitline BS, the stream starts when the cars start the formation lap, and ends as soon as the winner crosses the finish, then this should be done, no F1TV chaos, it works, or it does not, some report errors, some report 100% error free... Maybe sell the live stream to Netflix, OMG, that would get me re subbed to netflix in a heartbeat..
The problem is that F1 is in a bind, it has a problem for way too long, Schumacher in a red car, then Lewis in a sliver car, now Max in a blue/red car, one winner all the time, so change the regs, all that does is make some new driver dominant... What is the chance that say F1/FIA/Liberty say that 2025 "new regs" all of a sardine, William's wins 15 races back to back, Logan is champ, and Max is so 5th place it hurts?? And this carries on for 5 seasons??? What then? We have been through so many 1 car/team winners, and 8 or 9 team whiners?
100%. The bravery to send it up the inside at the end of the straight used to be fun. Now it’s just a straightforward pass well before the corner. Takes the skill out of it in my opinion.I’ve always said it but scrap DRS too, what a gimmick and actually put overtaking into the hands of the drivers and the car. Max was breezing past with ease with the extra DRS help yesterday which wasn’t needed. Let’s get back to authentic racing for a start.
I’d rather have they question why the other teams can make the regulations work. The regulations are the same for all. I really don’t like dumbing the best down, the rest should be better then everyone wins.Indeed. Some people I know just watch the YouTube 5-10 minute highlights.

It’s only GBP 59 per year to watch it. Way less than most other sports. 🤷♂️The race should be broadcast for free on youtube, after all the point of F1 is to sell advertising, which you see plastered all around the track, it is everywhere, yes, you have viewers watching on pay tv as there are benefits to paying for access, "all 20 on boards, pit radio blah blah, sky q and sky glass..." if you want bare bones, no Martin Brundle pitline BS, the stream starts when the cars start the formation lap, and ends as soon as the winner crosses the finish, then this should be done, no F1TV chaos, it works, or it does not, some report errors, some report 100% error free... £59 maybe for something that does not work, makes no sense, they should just fold this into Netflix, both would benefit, not paying £59 for something that has a 100% failure rate. It’s only GBP 59 per year to watch it. Way less than most other sports. 🤷♂️
To be fair, people like you and I can watch it for £59 because we're tech savy and can use VPNs etc. But my dad, who cannot use a computer, is never going to get F1TV working. It’s only GBP 59 per year to watch it. Way less than most other sports. 🤷♂️
Exactly, I am somewhat tech aware, but what VPN, what settings, and paying not only the £59, but exchange rate fee, the VPN fee, the ISP fee, and maybe the ISP blocks, or F1TV blocks, they F1/FIA/Liberty are being idiots, instead of taking this to Netflix, so you only get the race, and only the qualification +race, you want FP123 you buy a top up, through netflix, per month, yes I would, would do the purchase right now.. for 1st August... but I cannot, cause idiots..To be fair, people like you and I can watch it for £59 because we're tech savy and can use VPNs etc. But my dad, who cannot use a computer, is never going to get F1TV working.
