Makes sense, Apple stores and warehouses in country will be getting their first pallets ahead of customer deliveries.

So once they pallets are distributed, store delivery customers will get notification of their VP ready for pickup at the Apple Store.

Can't wait to see the embargo lifted so that we can see the influencers talk about them....
I hate to say it because I know how it goes over around here, but the only one I will probably watch is iJustine. I know she never has a bad thing to say about anything Apple, but I'm not going to want negativity this week. Too special of a week.

Yes I know what you mean - there are lots of negative influencers and naysayers on YT.

We should ask here or if you can create another thread for influencers that will give an honest review....

I'd be surprised if Apple gave any units to anyone who'd complain about it. If they did, that would be the last review unit they'd ever get. So, any embargoed reviews will be generally positive. The negativity will come from "influencers" who had to buy their own units.

That's true--this coming week will mostly likely be cheerful YouTuber week and then launch week will be JerryRigEverything week.

Not sure how true, but I’ve seen an anonymous post saying Vision Pro inventory has started to arrive at Apple Stores and that the box is huge.
Would not be surprised at all--I think there are at least 6 individually packaged items in there and the headset itself is probably padded like crazy to avoid damage.

I think that's because the locations are given in local time, and sorting those results in out-of-order tracking.
Right, it's probably an artifact of UPS being unable to show everything based on the same time zone and documents being sent ahead of time (not so sure about the latter).

I hear you. I think that iJustine actually does cover all aspects pretty well, but she's not coming from a place of negativity.

I like the ordering video Brian Tong did, nicely mirrors the emotional flow I encountered, only that I yelled things out loud.

Also looking forward to what Myke Hurley and Jason Snell will have to say. I think they're pretty level-headed about these things. (But they're not going to have review units, so it'll probably after the weekend.)

I wouldn't be so sure that everything will be all roses with the advance reviewers. Joanna Stern and MKBHD both have been pulling no punches on how heavy and uncomfortable the device is (to them) and questioning "what is this even good for besides being an expensive toy". I think there will be many reviews on Tuesday that pull no punches where they feel criticism is warranted. Bound to be one of the most interesting embargo lift days in tech history. WSJ and MKBHD among others have enough weight that they can state their true opinions without Apple removing them from future advance access.

I don't necessarily agree that the device will be dealbreaker heavy (especially if you have dabbled in VR in more than a demo-time manner) and don't agree at all that this device is a toy limited to movie watching. tossing a few Safari windows and some work apps around me is a killer app in itself, provided there's nothing show stopping there that hasn't been talked about yet.

Did my comment come across as me being sure that Joanna Stern and MKBHD, two perpetually negative people, would be positive on this?

I also already know what they and others are going to say, don't need to see or hear it again. I've unsubscribed from MKBHD after he excused the fake zoom moon photographs and pushed the catastrophically insecure Nothing iMessages app, among other things.

Maybe not you in general but overall the sentiment around here is "all the reviewers are going to sing praise so they can review the next apple product" which I just don't think is true. If this thing somehow absolutely sucks outside of an on-rails 30 minute demo, we're gonna hear about it from all angles on Tuesday.

I saw that post too over in the FB group about the box. I have also heard that the final assembly of the correct light seal and headband size is done by the employees for the in-store models at least, so I wonder if the box is designed in a way that they can access the headset area but the rest of the components are individually sealed off.

This still makes no sense. UPS knows the time zones of cities, airports, and their hubs or wherever packages get scanned and so, when they sort, they can internally convert to UTC and sort upon that. They can still display the original local time.

Well, maybe unless they're not willing to pay their contractors to do that ...

It makes sense if you consider that it’s a poorly programmed website.

My arrives Feb 6 (confirmation email was 8 minutes past the hour so not sure why I got the 6th), but it charged me today. I'd love for it to surprise arrive on 2/2, but it's probably wishful thinking.

I can see Light Seals and headbands arriving early, or even the boxes for final assembly. But I would be surprised if actual headsets are arriving to the stores just yet. But what do I know?

Hopefully we start getting some movement this weekend, to track.
It would be fun to see something happen with either my headset or lenses this weekend, just because my life for the last week has been basically counting down the days until this thing launches like a 4 year old. I got my 3rd party case from Amazon today (It's actually quite nice!) and I have been walking around with it under my arm wishing the gear was already in it.

I’m going to go mad before I even get it. I’ve started to slow down watching Vision Pro videos because my brain needs to think about something else for a bit lol.
