My wife is sitting next to me just before the last safety car ended, and she said "Verstappen is going to get him on this restart". That was just outstanding, and then to pull the gap he did from then on...amazing.

Lando was the Side Show in the F1 Post Race. "There was no talent involved. It was just luck." I'm predicting this right here: Oscar is going to put Lando to the curb next year. ;)
That was very petty of him, although he does share Maxs sense of humor and I didn’t see the fragment to see his body language nor hear his intonation. It could have been with funny intent as well.

Sure Max got “lucky” with the red flag. But so did Lando in qualifying. Goes both ways.

Charles was full of praise.

Max was being funny in the press conference when he exclaimed he couldn’t see any British press, and wondered whether they’ve gone back yet. Funny, but not smart taunting the British press.

Anyway, eventful weekend.

They to drop one driver if they wanted Lewis, but it was damned if they do and damned if they don’t sort of situation. There’s nothing to say Sainz wont go back to Ferrari at some point, much like Kimi did.
Latest rumor I saw was Colapinto going to Williams.
Williams releasing Sainz and RB giving Sergio the boot and signing Sainz.

Yeah, Lando's post race comments were a real eye opener.
Ya know, Lando's a talented driver but he keeps finding ways to throw himself under the bus. His team keeps giving him opportunities holding Oscar back and it's all to no avail. Lando's worst enemy isn't Max, it's himself.

That would be a better car for him but not sure he’ll want to be managed into a support driver role. I can’t imagine the Helmet allowing Max to be challenged too often and I’d pity Max’s engineer having to listen to the radio meltdowns in the various sessions. I wouldn’t rule Williams performance out either seeing the changes happening there at the moment.

Max was doing it too in the post race room being cocky about the British press not being there in his awkward unfunny sort of way, although someone was laughing at the back to be fair. I think next time he’s pouting after something not going his way, someone will remind him and try and wind him up. It the sort of thing that spices the sport up a bit.

Lando avoiding praise for Max is just mind games at this point, Max drove an amazing race and that can’t really be played down.

Interesting. I haven’t seen this one yet. I just can’t see Carlos at Red Bull while Max is there. Too many variables. Horner did spend a great deal of time with Vowles this weekend in the Williams Hospitality Center though.

I’m familiar with their banter. I only mentioned it because I didn’t see him as making a vailed attempt at humor.

Was a great race to keep the Stewards up to speed however.

Sainz's William's contract might have an opt out clause if he gets a better offer.
Williams has denied it.
Sergio is toast and going to single handedly lose the constructors championship for RB and Colapinto isn't ready to help out there with a move up to be Max's wingman.

Right, I’m familiar the Opt Out possibility. I should have said that I don’t see Sainz at Red Bull while Marko/Max are there. My understanding is Marko was the wall when Carlos first inquired after being released by Ferrari. As others have said Marko doesn’t want any challengers with Max. It’s unlikely Horner could get it done alone even with support from Yoovidhya. Sergio won’t be leaving before the end of the year. I believe the rumor that Slim is reimbursing Red Bull for the gap from P1 in the WCC if Sergio finishes the season. I don’t believe many, but this one is logical. Slim can find a way to get it done.

There are so many unknowns at Red Bull. Their Junior Series is empty for all intents and purposes. They need to decide on Lawson and Tsunoda first, IMO.

Then there is the question of Max. Will he stay or will he go? So many variables.

So Lando only got a 5k monetary fine for the false start. I could have sworn that was a 5 or 10 second penalty plus a license point. But I guess I must have been wrong 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, although it was a bit more than one person at the back. And it amused alpine as well. It was funny, but also just shows how bad the British press is. This was an awesome achievement and still they can’t get behind it.

For those who haven’t seen it. This tweet has it nice and succinct with audio on to hear the room laugh and clap.

Honestly there seemed to be a lot of confusion about what was going on so I wouldn't be too surprised if they were lenient with him.
Only by the stewards which I find odd. The message was clear, that meant engines off and wait for the team to come to you. Not do another lap, that was so dangerous, there could have been none racers on the track. But clearly according to the stewards not as dangerous as racing when a race is on. Very odd decision.

I bet Johnny Herbert was trying to think of a way to blame Max for it :p 😂

Agreed on Johnny. I was reading there was disagreement between stewards as to was it the same as a Jumped Start as they could not find any precedent to reference. They could only agree on the monarchy, oops, monetary fine.

I know, what’s up with this? Max was laughing his bottom off. It’s not like he just kicked Will, Ted, David, and Damon in the cojones, right? 😉

Another perfect race by Max Verstappen.
I wonder what would have happened if Lando had made a good start. He probably would have pulled away from George Russell but after all the restarts would he have still been behind Max?

Wow, the FIA really should be proud of it's employee's, from Race Director to Stewards, all did a wonderful job, not a single point of contention from Thursday to Sunday night... No one has any complaints, all compliments.. Every one went home happy, proud to be involved in Formula 1...

Not a great example of clown college.. Nope, nothing to see here, just professionals being professional.. No examples of wrong language used, or misunderstandings, that only happens in sports such as chess or tiddly winks or hopscotch...

This was a weekend to remember for all the right reasons, the Stewards did a fine job, handing out loads of great fines, for all sorts of fine reasons, found all sorts of fine reasons to justify not bigger fines.. Teams are happy at the five thousand pound fines!!!

I would like to ask Bernd Meylander if he did a check of the car before the start of the race, apparently the lights stopped working, did he know this? There was no warning from Neils about this.. Maybe Neils was doing a pooh at the time, could be, would explain the rolling start and the lack of warning..

Really.. Clowns are great in a circus, not running F1 events..

The thing is Max raced well and I get that he’s pleased with his result, but it’s come off the back of 2 Grand Prix where he’s raced like an amateur and displayed very poor sportsmanship. Of course the British press have given him a hard time, ask Lewis about that, but I don’t get why he was cocky and goading them? They’ll just continue to fuel the dislike people have for him and they know he blows his top on the worse days, especially in the media pits. The British press are nasty and have a lot of influence throughout the sport and to how drivers legacy’s are remembered. I’m sure he knows what he’s doing though.

Max races because that’s what he loves. He doesn’t care what people think. Best way to live IMO.
