Whatisname from Red Bull, the CEO, he should be brave, just fire Perez, let the reserve driver take the 2nd car.. Why wait, very surprised that by Monday 11am UK time there was no presser announcing the new driver line up for the remainder of 2024..

No need before a long break. Everyone knows that something is going to happen (unless Perez somehow podiums on Sunday.) With the short week, it makes sense to keep things as is for now and then take the long break to reassign.

So as we go into Belgium and then on to the Summer Break, Red Bull may use that time to decide their driver lineup for the rest of this year and 2025. Perez continues to be under pressure as his failure to score CC points is now putting the CC at risk and with the team staff bonus in part based on where the team finishes in the CC, it is more than just "bragging rights" at stake and winning the CC seems to be more important than some of us (myself included) thought.

Daniel is the favored choice right now, which would allow Lawson to slot into VCARB and then depending on how both did, Lawson would be promoted to RB for 2025 or do another year at VCARB. Marko evidently wants Yuki to replace Perez, but Horner now holds the power and he wants Daniel and does not feel Yuki is a viable option.

Yuki and Max would be a handful, but I think I'd prefer that than Daniel. Daniel needs to be replaced, as well as Checo. However Daniel isn't that bad that his contract needs to be cut short. Let Liam come in alongside him. But please get rid of Checo asap.

Looking like Red Bull will take the 10 Place Grid Penalty for PU #5 this weekend as well.

Looks like Renault has decided to end being an F1 PSU supplier at the end of the current regulations in 2025 and Alpine will adopt Mercedes power for 2026.

No loss here. Renault has shown no interest in rectifying their 25hp+ disadvantage.

For those who believe "Lewis would never give up a position", a clip of the final lap of the 2017 Hungarian Grand Prix (karmic?) appeared in my YouTube feed this morning showing Lewis moving aside on the last corner of the last lap to let Valtteri Bottas past to finish 3rd. Lewis had been let past 10 laps prior by team orders to see if he could catch the Ferrari's of Vettel and Räikkönen, but he had been unable to and the team asked him to give the position back to Valtteri.

Proof you can be a seven time World Champion and 100+ race winner without being a ruthless jerk. :)

And that was 7 years ago. Hence the sharp and to the point remark from Lando Norris ;)

Lando should watch that clip and the aftermath to learn how to do it and not be touchy, especially if given a compliment lol. He'll learn, a few more race wins and it will be less of a big deal to him.

Max has been a naughty boy, could very well explain his miserable mood. He was up past 3AM playing sim games the night before last weekends race, the team have banned him from playing them the night before a race.

You’d think he gets enough SIM racing at the factory on a setup most can only dream of owning…

Max is not a normal Human.

not a bad course to do it on. Max knows it well and it is easier to overtake on

Track conditions will play a bigger role this time. I’m not convinced the RB20 hasn’t lost some wet track performance with the Hungary Upgrades.

It's funny that Lando referred to 7 years ago, which is exactly this race where Lewis gave back his position to Bottas.

It's hard to replace a driver mid-season without having driven the car before. Perez his replacement might perform even worse due to being unfamiliar with the car.

It's better to replace Perez after the season is over so that the new driver has time to learn about the car.

I don't believe McLaren made a mistake in pitting Norris first to protect his 2nd place position and I don't believe McLaren made a mistake in having a policy of restoring the original running order in such situations.

People say "let the better driver win", but on that day, Piastri was the better driver. Lando ended up first only because he was allowed to pit first. So if you are true to your beliefs, than you should not be complaining that Piastri won the race.

Piastri wasn't the better driver. Norris had a bad start due to a glitch on his car (so it's the fault of the team). And Norris was faster than Piastri during the race.

And to be fair, Piastri made so many mistakes that race, Norris would have gotten passed Piastri even if Piastri pitted first. He was off the track multiple times and his laptimes were also slower.

Max I doubt would listen to some random dude telling him what to do/cannot do at 3am on a Sunday morning... I know Jos is his dad, when did Horner adopt Max? If Max does in fact listen, then boy Max should be suspended by the FIA. his licence suspended, and Max admitted for mental health reasons, Max is an adult, if Max wants to be bedroom active at 3AM with a wife/girl friend, is daddy Horner going to knock on the door????? Really Max is +18 yrs old...

Max denies and has a different recollection of the conversations.

Mclaren, who is No1, No2? Who gets priority? F1 needs a bit of spice, it was about as exciting as getting a 5 pack of ramen noodles for Christmas...

I'm sure he does, but it is a fact the team have told him to not play sim games into 3AM before a race. Which I think is fair enough. I'll stick to the English reporting on the event. No idea what the report you linked to states.
