Anyone in the UK got any links to USB-C chargers that work with fast charge on a 10.5 pro. I picked up 2x certified refurb USB-C -> Lightning cables from Amazon yesterday.

Are these the £12.99 ones? I picked one up and a *hopefully* genuine Apple usb c charger which I’ll be testing with voltmeter later tonight or tomorrow. Let’s hope they work well together.

Yep, got 2 and the price dropped to £10 each. Arrived today and look genuine... Where did you get the charger from?
Ebay. From seller with plenty of refurb Macs so hopefully good but comes in a brown box with a non gen usb c-usb c cable. I’ll let you know what results I get. If it doesn’t work I’ll buy the Aukey one mentioned in opening post - AUKEY USB C Wall Charger with Power Delivery 29W 1 USB C Port or Dual USB Ports for LG, HTC, Nexus, Oneplus (Black) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01MYVJELP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_AXKzzbNSFVE4W

Nice one, thanks. I picked up one of these yesterday as a warehouse deal and paid £13, but not sure how it will work out

Well, got home with my eBay special charger and amazon refurb cable and it worked! Charging at approx 30-31W at 30% battery. Mac runners doesn’t support iOS 11 picture format yet so can’t upload but its working so I’m happy.
Approx 1% per min at the moment with mix of screen on and off. Charger is getting fairly warm but not worried.

Update, charges my iPhone 7 Plus at 9W fine but has a slight hum when it’s attached to either device

Does the charger appear official? Who was the seller?

Seeing as there are no 3rd party cables as of yet that support fast charging on the 2017 iPad Pros, I broke down and bought 2 Apple 2m cables ($70 - ouch). When they inevitably fray at the ends, hopefully there will be nice braided 3rd party fast-charging cable options available. I received a response from Leonis that they are working on this currently. At least I saved a little money on the Anker chargers.

I recently had 3x Apple Lightning cables replaced by Apple for various reasons including the sheathing splitting.... no questions asked. In fact the genius asked if I only had 3 that I wanted replaced.

That's very good to know - thank you for sharing!

Wow, that is amazing! Every time I get an Apple OEM cable replaced under warranty, they put me through the Spanish Inquisition, including proving that I have at least one device, which comes with such a cable, still under warranty (i.e., - less than a year old).

I would ask you what store you went to, but I imagine it is in the UK.

It is indeed in the UK, the Basingstoke store for those in the UK. They always sort me out. When I had my iPhone 6s Plus, I bought a silicone case and happened to mention that the one on my phone was 3 months old and I wasn't impressed with how it was peeling in the corners. They just swapped it out without any comment... no receipt or anything.

However, also a shout out to the Southampton store a couple of weeks back. Wifey was looking at Nike bands and happened to ask what she could clean her nylon band with as she bought it 4 months ago and wasn't impressed how it had gone all faded. They just swapped that there and then for a new replacement. She was over the moon. Can't beat Apple Customer Care.

I have decided to play safe and return the possibly dodgy charger to eBay seller and have ordered the Aukey usb c charger from the opening post instead. Don’t want my iPad damaged by dodgy buzzing charger.

Can you use the normal Apple lightning cable with the Aukey usb charger for a fast charge to the new ipad pro 12.9, or do I need to buy a different lightning cable?

Thanks

Mark
