I'm starting to come around to the rumored iphone 7 design, but just wish they would finish the journey and paint those antennae lines a more similar and subtle match to the actual device's color.

Imagine something like this in all the other colors (notice the blue one, too):

Dat black one tho.

There is a black iPhone 7s+ with my name on it! That looks awesome!

2-3 years design cycles are going to be the Norm..time for people to realize this.

I think so too. Market has matured. And so many players in the game now who are designing.

I don't foresee Samsung diverging far from their galaxy design language for their flagships next year either. Samsung made the right steps already this year with subtle redesigns that made them look nicer, easier to hold, and helped add waterproofing and larger battries. They aren't going to change it much (but who truly knows, I guess? Samsung can sometimes be random).

Even for Apple... like I said earlier, the leaked designs are growing on me but I just wished they'd color the antennae lines a closer match to the actual device's color.

I'm okay with this new 2-3 year cycle business. The designs have been so good anyway, like they're beginning to master the current smartphone look.

You mean like galaxy phones had since S5? OH MY GOD. World is ending. Hide.

Yeah because the bezels and design language on the S5 looks anything like the S7.... My God, how can anyone possibly confuse the 2? He's right anyhow, the ip7 will have the same humungous 2012 bezels.

Those renders of the iPhone 7 probably won't look like that. Only the antenna lines will change from cosmetic purposes.

This is the best looking smartphone of 2016 in my opinion.

The Nubia Z11
ZTE-Nubia-Z11-vs-Nubia-Z9-03.jpeg

The Nubia Z11 looks like something where you would constantly hit anything that is in the corners unless it has great palm rejection built in. There is a reason we have SOME bezels on phones. That said, those bezels are still way too large on many new phones coming out. Unless they also reduce the physical size of the new iPhone or increase the screen size then it's not really going to be any better than the last one.

saw that! Where is that dark dark gray one!

As much as we dream, that render will likely never come to pass. Damn shame.

As if the double 'U-shape' antennae lines aren't ugly enough, they're contrasting colors... ugh.

Hmm.. If iphone7 will look like that, ill probably try to open it to get a pencil. Looks like a metal pencil box which you can open, imo...

Man, those look like sardine tins, I almost had to look closely for a key. Of course they have my favorite huge bezels from 2012. What the hell happened to Apple?

Yeah. I'd rather have no bezel, so if I drop it I get a nice crack from the upper corner. That's how phones are supposed to be, right?

Do bezels reinforce the front glass? Seems like with a corner drop the glass would crack the same whether it is screen or bezel.

Less bezels doesn't mean edge screen on the sides or corners.

Yes, it kind of does. Or more accurate, metal is sturdier than glass. Imagine when a phone gets hit in the corner. One of them has the glass corner, the other metal. The meal takes the brunt of the damage and gets scuffed. What happens to glass when it's hit in the corner?

Why would a phone with less or no bezels on the front have a different glass corner than one with bezels? The only change I could see would be underneath the front glass.

See this for example:

Edges look the same to me.

That's still a bezel. It's a tiny bezel, but it is a bezel. And the issue isn't "a different glass on the corner", the problem comes when the outer corner of the phone is glass and not a material that can absorb concussive force. If you want a good example of why I say that, look no further than t Galaxy S7 Edge that tons of people seem to be cracking after a single drop.

Ok cool, I see your point. I just don't equate a glass curved edge screen with bezel-less. There is an place in between that is far more practical than that silly edge screen Samsung is pushing.
