I have just sold my X on eBay after ongoing issues with the screen flicker/PWM and not liking the overall weight. Bought a non-plus 8 and love it. Its light, small and wireless charging like the X is a boon. I don't care for all the 'features' of the X over the 8 and the notch annoyed me.

How are people getting on with the 8/+ without a case? How tough is this phone? I would prefer not to bother with one.

Still very satisfied with my 8+. Works like I want it to, is very comfortable in my hand, easy to see and use. Good battery life and great photos!

Love my iPhone 8+. it's super responsive and snappy. Fits in my hand perfect. Can't say enough good things about it. iPhone X is overpriced crap!

Also I'd like to note that the 8+ is the first plus iPhone I've owned.

Had them all, except the 6.

I downsized from a 7 plus to an 8 and couldn’t be happier.

Really wanted to give the X a chance but the price and mixed reviews turned me away.

EDIT: the one thing I miss a little is the portrait mode.

The 8 Plus is the first plus phone I’ve owned as well. There are some days it can be a bit bulky, but maybe that’s because I have an OtterBox Commuter case on it? Oh and the speaker crackling issue, but besides that’s it’s a beast phone! Battery life is the best part!

Love the 8 Plus & 8. Amazing phones.

I really dislike the speaker clipping issue. With that solved it’s damn near-perfect phone.
True man. 8Plus is an amazing phone but sadly with the pop sound issue with the speaker. Very disappointing.

Love the 8 Plus. I updated from a 6s Plus which was perfect. The reason I got the 8 Plus is because it was 33% cheaper than new and in mint condition and had AppleCare+. The battery life is astonishingly good. Even better than my 6S Plus.

You Make a solid point about the iPhone X and the weight. What the glass back, stainless bands and adding the internal wireless charging components, it does feel like I heavy phone in the hand, but it’s comfortable.

With moderate use, I can easily get 2 days of battery life from my 8+. The battery is astounding and is the biggest reason why I opted for a Plus instead of the X. Getting the same cameras, processor etc as the X but at a lower price is a good deal imo. Speaking of the cameras, I am constantly amazed by how far phone cameras have come. It’s so easy to take some seriously great pictures with an iPhone which has always been a huge plus to me.

I was thinking about selling my 8+ to my girlfriend in favour of a X, but the 8+ is definitely staying in my pocket for a good while. I’ll may switch next year if Apple releases a X+.

I've already replied, I'm sure, but I love my 8 - it feels a very compact phone. I have it on my nightstand for podcasts, music, a little browsing alarms, reminders etc. Probably overkill having an X too, but this combo suits me fine: The X as a daily driver and the 8 beside my bed.

I’ve done the 8 and 8 Plus. The size of the 8 is glorious. The battery life and screen vs the 8 Plus isn’t. Not only is 8 screen smaller but if you watch a lot of video the 750 really starts to stand out.

If size is key and not much video consumption the 8 is the ticket. I also think the camera on the & is slight more consistent as it doesn’t have the second lens tossing in some risk.

I still love mine 8plus and few days ago my wife bought me a qi charger that works beautifully with the phone. If it wasn't the clicking around the front camera from time to time this would be my all time favorite iphone :D

That actually looks like a nice case...how much thickness does it add to the phone?

Not very much, still a thin profile, slips easily into my pocket or jacket pocket, but feels like solid protection. This has probably been the best case I’ve owned, same goes for the phone.

Compared to an OtterBox Commuter case? Slimmer?

The X is $200 more than the 8+. It's a bit overpriced, but it's not THAT much more than the 8+. It's not like comparing a $250 xiaomi Android phone to a $900 Samsung.

The X is a hell of a phone, and anyone who says it's crap most likely has an agenda.

No touch id - Yeah, it's unfortunate but once the phone is on it's not that big of a deal

Overpriced - What's an extra $200 when you just spent $800

Notch - Anyone can get over it in a day, unless they WANT to see it and hate it

The X is a solid and revolutionary iPhone. I picked an 8+ over it because the X doesn't feel as nice in my hand and the keyboard is too small and narrow for me. To call it crap is kind of a joke to me.
