I really wished that the Apple weather widget showed feels like temperature, I think only the weather network has this option but their data is not so accurate.

CARROT weather offers this...

More App Updates, just more generic "bug fixes". Is there a weather app that I don't have to pay an arm and a leg for that has a nice widget? I have weatherbug and they don't have widgets yet. I've heard good things about Carrot, but is that the app where you have to pay for the app and then pay for the subscription fee? That seems a little steep.

The Weather Channel, according to someone with a screenshot in one of these 3rd Party widgets thread (gets confusing since there's 2 concurrent ones, basically mostly saying the same).

I think these widget-creating apps will have short-lived popularity.

Many people will soon get bored playing with widgets and stick with some simple ones and a relatively clean layout. The idea of a widget collating unrelated info, which when clicked on doesn't open the relervant app anyway, will lose its excitement.

Same as the fad of spending ages finding/creating alternative icons for apps and setting them up as shortcuts. The novelty of having to watch two apps open each time (the shortcuts app then the actual app), no icon badges, plus quitting the app dumps you back in shortcuts not the homescreen, will wear off very quickly.

Keeping it stock.
Winterboard days are long gone.

The amount of money you pay to subscribe for sports channels etc and companies like Sky and BT cannot be bothered to develop a decent app and that also without ads. Greedy.

I agree, that subscription price is way over the top. I am continuously reading about accolades for widget Smith on various tech sites. Never mentioning the high cost of the pro version

Because you don't need the pro version. People are praising it because the free version is doing what people want.

If it's a subscription, it's gone. Just like kneeling in football. Price per, assuming I'll do that
wigetsmith is a non starter

What’s up with some widgets only displaying black displays? And pedometer won’t even update any more. Anyone else seeing this?

EDIT: A power cycle cleared it up.

Widgets and apps of Forecast Bar and Carrot Weather can definitely show 'feels like temperature' I have a subscription to both.

I also have seen that happen quite a few time already e.g. with Forecast Bar but also indeed with others. Also I noticed that the amount of updates of the widgets is 30 seconds or so and you cannot change it anywhere in apps/widgets it's an Apple limitation I think for battery usage but e.g. for stock widgets that makes a big difference.

The way widgets update is becoming an issue.

I'm trying Readdle Calendars as I like their widget, but if I create a calendar event (iCloud calendar) on my Macbook, or using the stock Calendar app on my phone, their widget doesn't update to show it. It's useless if it doesn't show the upcoming events, so I'll have to stop using it.

Not only that, but as their widget doesn't work well and hence I use the stock Calendar widget, that also means I revert back to using the stock app all the time.

Has anyone cracked the Apple photos widget yet? How about a reasonable third party widget to display a rotation of photos from a given album in Photos?

There are 3rd party that do photos but can’t remember off hand >.<

Widgetsmith does this. You can choose any album you like to slideshow through in your widget.

I back up all my photos from my phone to OneDrive and the last update for OneDrive includes a widget to display photos from on this day. Working pretty well as far as i can tell.

I've been playing with this, but can't get it to work... all I get is a black square.

Here are a couple of options that offer iOS14 photo widget:

- Microsoft OneDrive
- Photo Widget : Simple
- Photobox widget
- Photo Widget
- Home Photo Widget
- PictureWidget
- Locket - Photo Widget

Is there an alarm clock widget that show my next alarm? I haven't seen one yet.

Here are some options that might be able to offer that and include iOS 14 widgets these are however apps that work independently from the Apple clock as far as I'm aware.

- Due
- Countdown
- GO Countdown
- Repeat Timer
- Tyme
- Eventime
- Countdown - to dates

Any decent facebook widgets? Just want something to show recent posts or something

No sorry I don't think there is a social Facebook widget (official or unofficial like Friendly+) yet.
