OK, how does this work..... I ordered a Silver Plus 256GB at 08:30 on 09/09 for In Store collection, and I've not heard a thing. My brother ordered the exact same device at 17:30 on 09/09 and he's had a text in the last 2 hours to say his will be delivered by UK Mail tomorrow!! WTF?? How is that possibly OK??

Someone earlier said they ordered as late as yesterday and theirs have been dispatched. It's almost like O2 have done them back to front!

I saw that, I think all we can take from that and our other experiences is that O2 live chat don't have a ****in clue what they are talking about!! :mad:
 
O2's website is currently saying they have the standard 7 128GB in rose gold, gold and silver, as well as 256GB in silver, rose gold and black all in stock for delivery tomorrow.

If you can get hold of someone on live chat to cancel your order and place a new one before midnight, you may actually receive it tomorrow.

I know I'm clutching at straws a bit here, but thought I may as well share!
 
What is o2s policy on that? Are you forced to hand over your phone come 12 month upgrade time even though you pay over £69/70??

I can continue with the monthly payments and once the device plan is paid off and go SIMO.

Or I can trade in my iPhone and settle the device plan and pre-order iPhone 8.

AFAIK it's only EE where you have to give them the handset back.
 
Looking at Twitter (if it's to be believed) there were people unhappy that they couldn't upgrade on their 12 month contracts but some had by yesterday and were expected to have their iPhones delivered today. Could account for why so many preorders have been postponed at the last minute if O2 decided they didn't want to lose the yearly upgrades

Had a text this morning at work saying to expect delivery between 07:37am and 09:37am.

Just arrived home and it's been delivered at 07:13!

Just off chat to O2 now as I didn't get a text or email yesterday like a lot of you guys. Looks like they're resorting to giving you a random delivery date to get you off chat. Really they have no clue though. Tried to tell me Monday.

I just got a dispatch email 20 mins ago for my 128gb gold plus. It's not arriving until Monday but that's fine, at least it's on it's way.

Pretty decent result all things considered. Congrats!

Just canceled my o2 order.
No contact from them on the status off my order. But they were quick to take my money last Friday.

On the O2 Refresh with 12 monthly free upgrade plan, you have to hand the old handset back and they then write off the rest of the device plan - but you also have to then take out a 24 month contract with a new iPhone.

It's a clever move to try and lock people in. It looks great on the face of it - but there are a couple of gotchas (like, if you find your coverage is rubbish you can technically get out of a contract, but you're still liable for the handset cost - and the terms of the device plan mean you have to have the airtime contract - so whilst you could get out of the airtime contract you would need to pay off the device plan at the same time, which gets you out of the airtime contract anyway....). It's clever from a business angle though.

I took out an O2 refresh last year because of the free upgrade after the year. I've just paid off my device plan so I can go back to Three. You can probably guess I had coverage issues.... ;) That said, selling my 6S Plus will cover the outstanding cost of the device plan - so I'm in no worse position as such.

Part of the issue with chat is that they use offshore staff for whom English isn't their first language. I've been trying to sort out a tariff issue for the last day and its been painful. They're also obviously swamped with iPhone queries so each time i've asked about a specific thing on my account they just keep saying they don't know when I'll get my iPhone. In the end they upgraded me to a new tariff yesterday which was to start immediately, but on waking up today with no data available they set it to go live on my account in a week's time.

Cue 45 minutes in their chat queue to be told my iPhone is "under dispatch" (I didn't bother asking) and then they cut me off after a few attempts of explaining the issue.

As to the iPhone thing, their twitter responses are pretty terrible. There's obviously some posts to them on social media which just come across as spoilt, entitled brats whinging, but there's loads of valid points being made and they're all getting stock responses directing them to a page on the website and what's worse, their operators are using things like "*sad face*" in their replies. Maybe they're just trolling their customers, I'd respect that more I think than them actually doing it with a straight face.

Anyway, I now have data credit on my 5S I've dragged out of a drawer so its all good for the day ahead.

Lol. If O2 works well for you where you use your iPhone and how you use your iPhone, and you want annual upgrades, then it's a decent deal.

For me, I find their data coverage an issue with where I use my iPhone.... But I'm no worse off as I'm selling the phone after 12 months which covers the cost of the device plan, and taking out a new contract elsewhere which all amounts to the same deal.... I've just had a year of frustrations around the data.

I've been with O2 since the day of the first iPhone and I agree that their data coverage is substantially worse than my work phone on EE. However I stay because I like to think 9+ years of iPhone contract has some sway with them in sorting my issues out fast... This launch has proven otherwise!

Just had a live chat which started in them telling me I would have a wait anything up to 6 weeks. I queried this and suddenly apparently I will actually receive my phone within 48 hours. This is crazy!

Just curious. My rose gold plus arrived from Apple a while ago but I have a contract with o2.
 
Just logged in to MyO2 and I now have tracking info! It's getting delivered by DPD but I don't know when yet!
Good news is I've finally seen some movement! :)
