When you search in the search bar the suggestions are at the top while your eyes are at the bottom. WTAF. How did this make out the door?

I can’t find out.

If your browsing on your phone and leave tabs open and go on your iPad, How do you see what tabs are left open on your phone like you could on previous iOS versions
I think that feature has been broken for most users more or less all of IOS14’s lifetime. So perhaps they just decided to drop it all together. The feature stopped working with IOS14 for me, and most people I know. The last open tabs from my IOS13 days are still the ones shown on my devices.

And there is no fix for it - even according to Apple.

Can’t really understand the purpose of the completely changed UI in Safari. It now takes three taps to get to a search bar. Am I missing something?
If you want to canibalize your existing tab no problem, but if you want to open a new tab what’s the deal?

Wasn’t it settled that tabs at the bottom were unpopular?
If you have a tab open and want a new tab you can swipe from right to left on the search\address bar area at the bottom and you get a new tab. You can then swipe either way on the same area to go between the two.

I fixed it so far.

Signed out of iCloud on my phone and back in again.
That got rid of the zombie tabs that were stuck showing were open on my iPad.

On the iPad and iPhone I went to my start page and clicked edit.
In there there is a toggle for iCloud taps switched it on, on both devices and it now works as intended.

Very surprised more people aren’t mentioning the tab viewer. I find the old rolodex viewer far far more intuitive and easier to use on a mobile device than the grid layout. I guess I’m in the minority.
I wouldn't say you are. Perhaps here amongst techies, but I've already had several comments to this effect from casual users.

Not broken and a feature I use all of the time.

I think that this is like many UI changes wherein it's about how it feels rather than how it looks, so we all see screenshots of the changes and they're inherently offputting. But when you actually get the interface "under your thumb", it makes a lot of sense in practise. I already find swiping between tabs and swiping into the empty space to to the right to create a new tab very intuitive so I will definitely not be switching back to the old way.

This is more befuddling than anything. On top of that, clicking the AA button lets you easily switch the address bar from top to bottom. It's not complicated.

It’s lipstick on a pig, sorry. I moved my search bar and tabs back to the top where I’m familiar with it. I haven’t even started to look at other functionality but it’s just annoying. I tend not to keep a lot of tabs open anyway- just chews up memory.

Agree, not a fan of this right now. Makes no sense to me why so many clicks to get to folders.

Open a new tab on Safari on the iPhone. Scroll to the bottom (below Favorites, Frequently Visited, Shared with you, Privacy Report, Reading List, and you'll see currently open tabs on your other devices.

Loving the new tab bar. No more reaching up! Why wasn't it on the bottom all along?

Anyone know how to quickly switch tab groups?

I agree 100%. The new style is great on an iPad or in macOS, but I prefer the Rolodex style from Safari 14 on iOS. The old way was easier to navigate thru with one hand.

I can’t stand the new Safari design. I’m seriously thinking about going back to 14 if thats even possible. The Tabs are now on top of the bookmark favorites…where I have numerous folders. And the font size is far bigger, and with the added logos and color…it’s a frickin mess to look at. It’s really distracting.

On iPad (haven’t updated phone yet so not sure if it happens there), is there a way to stop having the 4 “start page” or recent sites tiles from showing up as small thumbnails near the bottom of the screen every time I reopen the browser? It’s annoying af.
