This is the same problem I'm having. Jailbroken, but no Cydia.

Anyone else having this problem ?

It could be it wasn't really jailbroken. I realized the full bar had the message "restore complete" which means something went wrong.

So now I'm restoring from iTunes itself to see if it'll work. From what I understand, Cydia should be showing up on the homescreen once jailbroken.

No need for a restore!!

Hey guys thought I'd update some of you.

I updated by phone and ipad2 to 5.1.1 through itunes yesterday and restored from a backup. I found out about the JB on my way to work so I didn't get to bring my macbook air.

I used my ancient pentium 4 work computer and was able to jailbreak by ATT 4s in about 15 minutes.

There wasn't any need to restore. I did get the "unable to connect to lockdown"
message but I just unplugged and then plugged my phone back in. I then got the message previous jailbreak unsuccessful fixing now.

After that process I plug in my phone at about 12:19pm eastern and was done at about 12:34pm.

So for some of you when its doing its magic don't touch the phone for texting or anything at all just let it work.

Just wanted to let some of you guys who were getting errors know it works.

I'll try my ipad when I get home. As well as tell you how well the cydia packages/sources restore worked using pckbackup and xbackup.

It made a new folder with the real absinthe .exe in that folder. The new folder should be in the same folder where the .exe you clicked was.

Correct. I didn't see the new folder it created on my desktop. Everything worked good after that. Although cydia is having the problems download packages but thats to be expected right now.

if this is happening during the jailbreak do you have a passcode enabled? if so disable it

No, I disabled it first. I also tried hard-reboot of iPad, and tried on a different Mac, same error every time.

Just done 2 iPad 3 and now starting 2 4s. No issues here other than Cydia getting hammered which is to be expected.

Anyone else having this problem? "Recovery completed. If you want to retry jailbreaking, unplug your device and plug it back in."

I think the final process of jail breaking i.e. ( Waiting for process to complete...) is ACTUALLY trying to download Cydia onto your device. And if the Cydia servers are getting hammered right now; it may just time out the jailbreak process via Absinthe.

Just my best guess.

it took me all of 5 minutes (give or take) to jailbreak successfully and that's with a nearly full iPhone 4s at that....

Absinthe 2.0 Jailbreak Waiting For Process To Complete Error Fix

Chronic Dev-Team has just released the new jailbreak tool for iOS 5.1.1. Absinthe untethered jailbreak for all devices. The jailbreak woks on all devices including iPad3, iPad2, iPhone4S and the remaining earlier devices. The jailbreak tool is now available and can be downloaded from the download page here

Seems like some users are having trouble when jailbreaking their devices. The error that some users are facing is "Waiting For Process To Complete" A quick turn around for this error would be to perform a clean restore on your device from iTunes. Once you perform a clean restore, you can try jailbreaking your device again using Absinthe 2.0 and it should work without any errors.

If you are already on Tethered jailbreak using Redsn0w, don't run Absinthe. Simply launch Cydia and search for Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 untether and install it and your device will get untethered jailbreak.

Update 1 : User @dawerji83 was able to successfully jailbreak his iPhone4S after performing a clean restore via iTunes. If you are facing the same error 'waiting for process to complete', simply restore your device from iTunes and then retry jailbreaking and it will work.

Steps To Fix Waiting For Process To Complete Error

Step 1 : Put your iPhone into DFU mode
Instructions For Getting Into DFU Mode
Switch off your iPhone
Hold the power button for 3 seconds
Now, without releasing the power button also press and hold the home button for 10 seconds.
Without releasing the home button, release the power button but continue holding the home
Step 2 : Launch iTunes and iTunes should alert you that an iPhone has been detected in recovery mode.

Step 3 : Click on restore if you don't have iOS 5.1.1 firmware downloaded in your pc. If you have already downloaded iOS 5.1.1 then hold down (shift key) for windows and (alt key) for mac and click on the restore button.

Step 4 : Show the path where you have downloaded the iOS 5.1.1 firmware and then click on restore.

Step 5 : Wait for iTunes to restore your device.

Step 6 : Once your device is successfully restored, launch Absinthe and click on jailbreak.

That's it!

Done on my iPhone 4! By the way what messed me up was using the erase all content and settings.. after that the phone would not jailbreak. A clean restore fixed this though. Thanks so much to pod2g and the dev team!! Donated as well :]

Ipad 3 jailbreaked without a single problem, u mad bro's?

Yeah, iPad3 was a breeze. Upgraded to 5.1.1 fr/iTunes, sync'd, backup, close iTunes, ran Absinthe Windows version (Win7 64bit) as Administrator, jailbreak. Piece of cake...no restore necessary, no erase content and settings.

Now as soon as Cydia settles down, I can continue.
