Hey guys, so my artifacting with HWACCEL is pretty bad. Can't get any work done. So I've spent most of the day goin through the forum. I can't figure out what in the config.plist on EFI I have to deactivate to turn off HWACCEL. Can anyone point this out?

Thanks!

Ok so in the config.plist I'm supposed to remove SMBIOS? Searched this forum and I couldn't figure this out...
Attached is what I see in SMBIOS:

So I copied the APPLE folder from the original Mojave EFI (The one I made this clone from) then did the OC install as per Martins instructions but I get this message when I try and Bless OC.

Hi Martin,

does your 0.7.5 beta version include a fix for the macOS 12.1 problems? I read in a post once that booting might again become a problem...

Edit: just as with my manual changes (adding platform nvram) this config does not boot my Mac. I hear the chime - then the machine goes out after like a minute without bootscreen/booting up.

Awesome, thanks Martin.

I've just cloned my System Drive with a new Kensington A400 and went to install OC with your method but there is no Apple folder inside the EFI. What does this mean?
Hey Martin, if there’s no Apple Folder, don’t worry. Inside the EFI folder just paste the BOOT and OC folders from the zipped file you downloaded. The Apple folder, if needed, is generated after update to Catalina or Big Sur. I had the same problem…

Hi Martin, quick question about the config for 7.5b. For Monterey I thought the UpdateNVRAM key was to be set to true.

Nope. Still get the same error message.

Martin can you help? @h9826790

Process:
This disk is a Mojave CCC > Followed #1314
  1. [Optional] 3x NVRAM reset to avoid some unknown issues.
  2. Disable SIP (must do, especially if you performed step 1)
  3. Download the attachment in this post (Some users reported 0.6.1 package has compatibility issue. You may download the 0.5.9 package if you prefer that, same installation procedures.)
  4. Follow the steps in this video (please turn on and read the subtitle)
BUT I get the above error message.....

99% because you haven't copy the files into the correct location.

e.g. the correct location is the EFI folder inside the EFI partition, but not at the root folder of the EFI partition.

Ahhh ok. Well I'll need to create an EFI folder then...?

That's really a beta package, for advance users testing. That's why named the package with "beta", and haven't update any words in post #1314. You better not to use it now.

Anyway, yes, MonteRand is included in the config.

Hi Martin, quick question about the config for 7.5b. For Monterey I thought the UpdateNVRAM key was to be set to true.
The answer is NO.

I put the required FirmwareFeature in the config (credit to cdf), but keep that disabled intentionally.

If I turn on UpdateNVRAM and SecureBootModel, yes, you can install and run Monterey on cMP like natively support. However, this config won't boot Mojave.

Since the main idea of this thread is to provide HWAccel, and Mojave is the last macOS that's natively supported on the cMP. Therefore, I prefer to keep the bootability of Mojave in my package.

If you want to install and run Monterey (from Big Sur), you can turn on UpdateNVRAM and SecureBootModel by yourself. This is my personal suggestion as well. However, this ONLY works if your existing macOS is Big Sur or newer.

For older macOS, you better use the VMM approach (as per post #1314's video guide) to install Monterey. And this is what the advance users are testing. They need to make sure both Mojave and Monterey can be installed and ran in different combinations.

Thanks Martin.

Yeah I just created an EFI folder. And OC Installed ok.
In case you missed this part: You should be using clover Config to mount the EFI partition on your desired OC drive and then copying Matin's package into that, per his video instructions. You shouldn't need to create an EFI folder.

Read all my posts above dude..

Just an FYI, I updated my 5,1 from macOS 11.6 to 11.6.1. No issues, smooth as silk.
How ?, did you make any changes, I have Martin's Open core 0.7.5, and the system load's halfway and then a few minutes later reboots and continues in that cycle.

Is there anything i need to change in the plist file ?

Just a quick note martins 7.5 works fine with 11.6. until i decided to update my system reading your note and now its now any advice

I run the 0.7.3 V2 package and have zero issues running 11.6 or Monterey.

Thanks for the 0.7.5 - I just put it on my 6 core single X5690 MP5,1 and that appears to be running quite okay. It booted into 11.6.1 immediately.

Noticed the little quick "blip" of the fans on start up, I think I need to put this on the 128GB machine as well. :)

My previous attempted install of Monterey (pre 0.7.5) still gives me a pre-selected Macintosh HD on start up (part of that install process), is there an easy way to get rid of that? I'm not technically savvy enough to get Monterey working so I just want to be rid of it.

Open Core 0.7.5 working well on my single cMP 5,1 with X5675, RX580, Monterey 12.0.1 on M.2 SSD.
Just out of curiosity, was the wifi legacy option removed? Didn't see it anymore.

I was on Martins 0.7.4 at the time no changes. I simply updated from 11.6 to 11.6.1. no issues. Now running 0.7.5 with Thunderbolt 3 enabled.

I haven't been that successful, I have tried twice and both times I had to reinstall the OS to get back on track. Luckily I have set up and use a time machine so I am back to restore quickly.
I don't know what's stalling the install.

Hi,

Monterey is not working for me with 0.7.5. The install works fine but when I intend to boot from it it goes into a boot loop. Since I’m using a flashed NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 I need to install the post install files with the Kepler video drivers (from OCLP or Geforce Kepler patcher) but I cannot even boot the OS, how can I install the files that I need?

I am running a Mac Pro 3.46 GHz 12-Core 4,1 flashed to 5,1 with firmware 144.0.0.0.0.

Any help would be appreciated.
