So I upgraded my OC to the 7.5 folder from this thread, I then used the vmm flag method to do a clean install of Monterey onto a different drive in my cMP 4,1 flashed to 5,1. I then changed the config.plist back to default values and I get weird audio stuttering when playing back a youtube video and the original bluetooth doesn't work but then if i boot to my Big Sur drive everything is fine, Just some feed back. Let me know if i have done something wrong.

[Edit]
Seems like removing boardspoofing fixed the audio stuttering but not the bluetooth issue

I have 0.7.5 working on my other Mac Pro with 11.6.

I have had no success with any attempts to install Monterey (with the upgrade option) on the less powerful MP5,1 in my signature no matter what I try, even known working config.plist files don't work for me so I've abandoned that idea.

The original 5,1 onboard Bluetooth and Wifi won’t work in Monterey. This is a known issue.

If I remember correctly, the new OS does not support classical hardware Bluetooth and wifi, although I don't think removing support for those hardware will bring much slimming effect to the OS.
If that's the case, I suggest upgrading the Bluetooth and wifi chips.

True, and the upgrade doesn't just give you bluetooth and wifi back, you actually get all the handy things like airdrop for instance. It's really useful.

Please let me know if disable Feature Unlock fixed that issue. If yes, then I will keep Feature Unlock in the package, but make that disabled by default.

I've been using FeatureUnlock for a while now on Catalina & Big Sur without any issues.
Certainly no ill effects such as those reported by that one user.
I am using a Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ as opposed to his XFX RX580.

More insight there? Can't enable Nightshift for some reason. Using Martin Lo's 0.7.5 pkg.
I mentioned this in a separate post last week and maybe @h9826790 can take a look but if you haven't done this already...

"On OC .7.5 using @h9826790 pre-compiled package. Just as a heads up, if Nightshift doesn't work, check your config. I think the config.plist has NightshiftEnabler in the .plist in rather than FeatureUnlock. Once I changed that, all good to go."

I created a new "easy to install package" as per many requested (based on the official OpenCore). [The attached package updated to 0.7.5]

[...]

[Last update: 4 Nov 2021, OC 0.7.5, Lilu 1.5.7, WhateverGreen 1.5.5, AppleALC 1.6.6, NightShiftEnabler 1.1.1, SurPlus, MonteRand]
Hello Martin,

first of all - thanks again for all your work on your package, which enables people like me to continue using their MacPro with the latest macos. Today I had the opportunity to try out your current (0.7.5) package.

I always use your package unmodified before I make my adjustments to the config.plist.

The computer starts, shows the BootPicker and I can select the startup volume with macos 10.15.7 (19H1519) - the computer starts to boot and shows a bar for approx. 25% and then restart without error message. I then booted in text mode (verbose) but it goes so fast that I couldn't read it where he got out.

What can I do to help you troubleshoot? Can I activate a log protocol

Thank you for your information, patience and time.

P.S.: Your 0.7.4 package works like a charme...

No problem with sleep mode here
It works fine here with 0.7.5 on both of my 5,1 machines.

I noticed a 11.6.2 macOS Big Sur update and ran it on the other machine 11.6.1 > 11.6.2 without watching, it seems to have installed flawlessly using the 0.7.5 package. I came back to look at it and noticed it completed without my intervention needed. Happy days. ?

Really ?
Where did you pickup Big Sur 11.6.2 ??
What's the macOS build number ?

Alex is right - that machine is enrolled with a developer account so I get all of those updates coming through along with the beta versions of Monterey. It's a good sign that it updated without any issue or intervention needed from me.

I had only planned to download 11.6.2 while doing other things (in another room) and install it later. But it installed without my input and without issue just like it would for a fully supported machine.

Edit: I can report after using 11.6.2 release candidate with 0.7.5 yesterday that it worked normally for me, I was running Zwift (the Z icon) and a few other things on it without problems.

Thanks for the report. This 0.7.5 was tested to boot Catalina. However, YMMV.

In this case, I think you better stay with 0.7.4 at this moment.

At 25% OS loading, there may be some log in Console.

If you can't find anything, you may also use a mobile phone to take a video of the text return (in verbose mode) during boot (if have high speed camera function, use that one). Then check the text in the video.

Anyway, just to confirm that boot loop happen with my unmodified 0.7.5 package, correct?

And since the same boot drive work with 0.7.4. Therefore, shouldn't be kext or software compatibility issue (except the kext injected by OC). Is this correct?

Martin, what can I say - mea culpa, mea maxima culpa! :)

It was my fault - but first step first.

Every time when you release an update, I read your config, make the changes I want / need and then rename the config to the build number and my name - your config also. Then I duplicate your config and rename it to the default name so it can boot (see picture names) to try your packeage first if it's running on my machine.

I duplicate and rename the wrong file (my allready changed config.plist file) and I did something I never did before - I enabled the NightShift Plugin. This one gave me the kernel panic and instant reboot.

Now I have all I need reenabled and disabled the "Lilu plugin for Night Shift" and my machine is booting and all runs fine. Acceleration, sleep mode and WLAN / Bluetooth - all fine.

Again: Thank you very much - for all! I'll send you another donation for your support.

Additional option 2: If you have a flashed Thunderbolt 3 card, you can install that in slot 4, then enable Thunderbolt 3 support by doing this.
any idea why my flashed titanridge just wont work for thunderbolt?
it works fine as a usb3 card. usb sticks pluged into the card will show up as USB3 on my MacPro but no thunderbolt device will be regognized...
it has never worked. i keep updating to newer OC releases but it doesn't seem to get fixed.
I flashed it using the tutorials over at the testing TB3 thread and i set the bootflag in the cofig.plist to true but yeah no success.

systeminformation shows this under the thunderbolt tab:

Any tips from the TB3 users here?
thanks in advance...

Do you have thunderbolt 3 enabled in your OC.config?

i did set this bootflag in the config.plist file of my OC EFI to true. do i need to enable it anywhere else?
Hmm. I'm no expert but I did get mine working fairly easily. Do you have it in Slot 4? Apparently it HAS to be in that slot.
