I see. Am I correct in assuming it won’t work with the original installed Wifi and Bluetooth?I have an upgraded Bluetooth/wifi card. Works great.
Not possible, Ventura require AVX2.0 for GPU drivers - besides that, power management and USB support for older Intel CPUs was removed.Has anyone dared to try macOS Ventura with Martin's 0.8 package yet?
Not entirely, just the end of an unpatched OS and sealed system volume. OCLP does an interesting job at navigating around some AVX2 requirements so I hear. Patches may come, and we can learn to adapt with them. Just don't bug any developers working on them currently.I see.. Monterey is EOL for our MPc.
I cannot find the Monterey 12.6.1 update (I'm on 12.6) despite turning on Cpuid1Mask in the config.plist
Any ideas?
Hehe, okay. Is that the way to go? Was thinking to apply the update from Software Update in System Preferences.
I simply followed the steps in post #1314 and upgraded right to 12.6.1.I cannot find the Monterey 12.6.1 update (I'm on 12.6) despite turning on Cpuid1Mask in the config.plist

When I recently updated to 12.6.1, I used that link (that I provided you) to the app store -- I downloaded it directly, and then installed it. Simple as that.Hehe, okay. Is that the way to go? Was thinking to apply the update from Software Update in System Preferences.
But sure, I could do it with the App Store installer too if needed.

Thanks, but for some reason I have trouble. When I recently updated to 12.6.1, I used that link (that I provided you) to the app store -- I downloaded it directly, and then installed it. Simple as that.
Do note that I already had my config.plist updated and ready for the update (see page 1 of OC thread):
1. Hybridization
2. SecureBootModel = Default
3. FirmwareFeatures updated (all of the above I run by default anyway)
As I mentioned to you in my earlier post -- Top of Page 1 of the OpenCore thread, stickied at the top of the main mac pro forum. inside the 'macOS' sub-section of the guide. Thanks, but for some reason I have trouble.
The update doesn't even show in System Preferences which it usually does if the Cpuid1Mask is set to AAAAAAAAAAAAAACAAAAAAA in the config.plist.
I downloaded the Monterey installer from the App Store and ran that and while it tries to install it just starts back into the my MacOS partition that has Monterey 12.6.
I'm not sure how I use Hybridization though, could someone explain that?
Okay, I'll do that (again, was some time ago I had a look). As I mentioned to you in my earlier post -- Top of Page 1 of the OpenCore thread, stickied at the top of the main mac pro forum. inside the 'macOS' sub-section of the guide.
I suggest you just read the entire guide first btw! Maybe read it 3-5 times to really understand, as there is a lot (of good knowledge) in there.
Try this guideOkay, I'll do that (again, was some time ago I had a look).
Just thinking it hasn't been needed before, so why would it be different this time? 🤔
But thanks for trying to help!
For 12.6.1, you will need to update the OpenCore package, either download my 0.8.0 package + 0.8.0.2 config in post #1314.MacPro5,1 (early 2009 flashed 4,1) 2x3.46 6core Xenon 32 GB, have been running BigSur for a little over 10 months without a hitch. Originally, with 0.7.3, upgraded OC once to 0.7.9. However, after recently upgrading GPU to Sapphire Pulse RX 580, following instructions in #1,314 is not allowing me to upgrade to Monterey. Installer appears to build the install volume but then stuck in a loop after restart. I've tried both upgrading the existing OC/BigSur volume and a clean install of OC/Monterey. Neither has worked. It's not a SIP issue. While I don't believe it was relevant to my situation, I have also done the "Cpuid1Mask" and "UpdateSMBIOS" edits. No difference.
Some screen shots follow of the OC bootpicker after the upgrade attempt and the clean install attempt. Please note the "EFI" volume after the clean install attempt. Is this and indication something went wrong with the bless step?
Any thoughts or recommendations? I have read the post #1 of the "OpenCore on the MacPro" thread several times. Is the recommendation in post #3,790 above an indication that the instructions in #1,314 within this thread may no longer be valid?
Are there any advantages to upgrading from your "0.8.0 package + 0.8.0.2 config" to the 0.8.6 BETA? I have 12.6.1 currently running on my 5,1 with the former. thxFor 12.6.1, you will need to update the OpenCore package, either download my 0.8.0 package + 0.8.0.2 config in post #1314.
Or use this 0.8.6 BETA package

The steps still the same, turn on VMM and turn off SMBIOS Spoofing, then run Montery installer. After installation complete, turn VMM off and SMBIOS spoofing on.
Have tried the beta package and progressed a couple of screens further in the Monterey install process before it presented a new error "SDErrorDomain error 104". After that if I reboot, I am in a loop where I see the OC boot picker. I am still puzzled about the EFI volume, I don't recall everseeing that with the two other times I installed OC with BigSur. Here are images of the sequence. The Monterey volume disappears. Subsequently, I've tried picking both macOS installer and EFI. In both cases I wind up back at the OC boot picker. In these cases, I am trying to install on a erased Samsung 2.5" SATA SSD in drive bay1. The OC bootable BigSur and HighSierra volumes are on a SATA SSD mounted in a Sonnet PCIe card in slot 3.Or use this 0.8.6 BETA package

I would suggest you clean your NVRAM - boot holding Command-Option-P-R until you hear the 5th chime. While it is kind of like "take 2 aspirin and call me in the morning" it frequently will work.Have tried the beta package and progressed a couple of screens further in the Monterey install process before it presented a new error "SDErrorDomain error 104". An added note, I just tried the "0.8.0 + 0.8.02" method. Still no luck. Although, in the process of rebooting I realized that as per last image Disk Utility believes the Volume is a 12.6.1 volume. However, Open Core is calling it EFI or macOS installer????
It's at the beta stage testing@h9826790 Hi Martin, hope the relocation is going well. Would you be able to let us know when you might release an updated version of your OC package?
I also believe that's NVRAM related, please clear the NVRAM, if possilbe, flash a cleaned BootROM.Have tried the beta package and progressed a couple of screens further in the Monterey install process before it presented a new error "SDErrorDomain error 104".
